The Arabic March Metallic that in my mind.
They've got a live version of it now if you wanna check that out
"What the f**k did I listen to". From Gimme Choco to BxMxC to Metalism. I'm so glad Babymetal still got it.
Right!
It's a Middle Eastern sound, not Indian. Shanti Shanti Shanti was Indian sounding. Having said that, I love this song. I'm a big fan of The Browning, which is electronic music mixed with Metal.
Persian and Indian cultures are related.
@@allegorical I admit, I'm not that cultured in Middle Eastern history or culture. Maybe I should have said Arab sounding? Either way sounds more Arab than Indian. They may be related, but there are differences.
That’s right I’m an idiot
Try Tibetan! Maybe you're trying not to offend China by mentioning Tibet, but it's what it is. Thank Led Zeppelin for bringing Tibetan music to rock music.
Listen to Snake Charmer, Punjabi bagpipes. Maybe you want to sound cool by calling it "Middle Eastern", but it's like calling Mongolian, Chinese, Cambodian, Japanese, and Vietnamese all "Asian" because you can't tell the difference. Punjabi or Tibetan would be more accurate. You're welcome.
"A very different song" .... "done in a weird way" .... "not typical" .... "outside of the box" .... "seriously this is the one people like the most?!"
Come on Alan, we're BABYMETAL fans, all those things are way up towards the top of the list labelled "Reasons that we love BABYMETAL" surely.🤣🤘🦊🤘
METALIZUMIZUMIZU!
Well not everyone lol
@@dicodec 😁
I can understand how this song might not be everyone's cup of tea but I absolutely loved it the first time I heard it. When that guitar came in, it made me do the stank face for the entirety of the solo.
I usually listen to electro in the gym. It's pretty nuts that BABYMETAL would release a song that fits in my gym paylist, but I'm very happy they did.
I shocked more people like it
Being a Metalhead who never paid attention to any EDM/Trance music out there... I am shocked that I like this so much lol
But then, it's unlike anything else. What do you even call this, Middle-eastern Trance Metal?!
METALI ZUMU ZUMU ZUMU!
Arabian psytrance metal is a good label, I think. 🕺💃🤘
Yea this is my gateway into more trance and edm
Being an EDM/Trance nut who never paid attention to any Metal out there ... I am shocked that I like this so much lol
@@majicjon Babymetal, brings together people from different musicverse since 2010.
I told you this was indescribable. 😂
Is this even BABYMETAL?!
Needless to say, I absolutely love this song.
You were right sir you were right
What I love about Babymetal is their sweet and beautiful "betrayal" in almost every song, you think you like one, you move on to the next all your expectations shattered, but you like it, forming new expectations and then get surprised again. 10/10 much educational.
Babymetal surprising people since 2010 🙂
I love Su's cadence in METALIZM ( I WISH we got more of it. a 3rd verse or something) Her vocal control reminds me of Shanti Shanti Shanti, just not as much effluxion. And the beat is sooooo good. The 2 guitar solo type shredding parts are going to be amazing live. VERY curious what the choreography for it will be like. Moa is going to KILL IT. I feel like this song NEEDS it's own costume. I think you were looking for Egyptian vibe.
I really love Maya too. Tons of energy. So far METALIZM, MAYA, and Monochrome are my favs. Mirror Mirror will have to grow on me. It just feels like 2-3 songs mashed into one. Almost another TOTD to me personally. Just too much all over the place for me to get into a groove. I am sure seeing the Girls and the Kami band live will make it 1000% better though as they always do.
Solid album yet again from BABYMETAL. Everyone will have their own favorites. I don't know what one is mine. I assume it will change over and over just like all the other albums. 🤘🦊🤘
Maya might be my top pick for this album
@@dicodec I didn't see you react to Legend. Is that still in the works?
I love your nerdy enthusiasm so much
Yea it was definitely more towards the Arabic sound for sure
Babymetal surprising everyone since 2010! ❤️🤘🔥🦊
Can’t wait to hear and see it live! 🤘🤘🤘
Lol 🤘🦊🤘
"What did I listen to?" Just the best damn song on the album! :D It's sooooo good!
I don't know if anyone else commented on this but I came back to this video just to comment on this: After the first "Metalizm zm zm" part, you can hear Moa's vocals at the back (1:42). What she is saying isn't included in the lyrics, but I was super curious, so I pressed my headphones to my brain to understand it with my not-so-fluent Japanese. When I translated what I heard, it meant "pillars and beams dance on the land". When you combine it with the lyrics, it seems to fit perfectly. The song talks about a metal king who floats through lands with his magic staff and wings. He is depicted as a deity, a powerful, mythical being. Thus, I think that his "music" is so mesmerizing that he makes "pillars and beams dance on the land" as he passes by those lands.
Definitely middleastern/ Arabian vibes. I first thought they'd gone OTT on the production. But the more I've listened to the the more I appreciate it.
An amazing album, how on earth do they follow this. That bar is getting higher and higher ladies.
🦊🦊🔥🦊🦊
Thats right Im an idiot
Nice reaction. I hope when they do this live, we get an extended version. It's just so cool. Song of the year that's what I think of it. With everything that's going on in it. They left plenty of play space. I can even hear possible vocal exchanges between Su and Moa and the crowd that would be amazing. With all the room to do more. I don't think they could ever get bored of performing this song. We could get multiple versions of this song over the years. Babymetal surprising us again and again. Babymetal doing things outside the box. Do they do that? Babymetal this is the way.
That would be cool to get an extended version
I love this song, my second favorite behind Monochrome, it sums everything this album is about, EDM, shredding, rich drum patterns, it has everything. It's a lot, it's massive!
And it works so well!
Just stuffing shredding in the middle of an EDM progression... this is so 😎!
🤘🦊⚡️
Completely agree!
A middle-eastern-scaled song released in ramadhan 😅, happy fasting everyone 🤘🦊🤘
You can not fault babymetal, for all the genres they follow. It is immense. I love this album, and every track on it. I would say, in my opinion, this is their best album.
Just like the LIVE version of BxMxC was superior when we first witnessed it, Metalizm LIVE is going to crank it up to multiple levels of greatness.
A completely overwhelming Sonic experience, in a good way. So unique in execution. Even if they’re not considering this a “real” BABYMETAL album, it’s extremely powerful and perhaps their best offering.
Well, we just gotta have something like this in a Babymetal album, no? Something different, weird and quirky... We've had OH MAJINAI and META TARO previously. That's one of the reasons we love Babymetal :D
This song sounds nothing like those two and those are my two least favorites actually. This one I love
@@dicodec for sentimental reasons, I actually like META TARO very much. Similarity between the three is not in musicality of course, but in being boldly different. Heck, with Babymetal, there's always something enjoyably different hahaha :D
Thanks from Japan 有難う💛。 You said "weird". Su said "chaotic" and "WTF". Uh-oh! This song is middle eastern-ish. Not Indian, though.
*******************
In an interview [magazine PMC vol.27 page 42]:
◆ Su "This is one of my favorite song (in TOO album)"
◆ Moa "For me also. Metalizm !!"
◆ Su "This is the most chaotic song and classified as 'WTF" category in this album. I can't explain it properly, but I would like you to listen to it as soon as possible. And I believe this song will turn into something amazing in live performance"
◆ Moa "Song itself is, of course, good, but I assume it will give you different image when you see the choreo with live sound. So I look forward to seeing how it turn out at the venue. I wonder how the audience will react to and get excited with this song? You think so, Su?"
◆ Su "Yeah! There have never been a song of this type."
= Interviewer "Flavor of Middle East, isn't it?"
◆ Su "That's right. This will be a new drawer of BABYMETAL"
*******************
I can't wait to see it live in Yokohama this weekend 😍.
I really hope they play live all the songs we are still missing!
And it would also be the right place for BBAB ahahah
Metalizumu zumu zumu!
@@BlackArr0w That's right
Yea u was t sure, that is the problem with talking off the cuff. It is definitely and Arabic vibe
I was also not into it at first since people really hyped it up but after just having time to think about it, is honestly just a happy beat to enjoy to. I appreciate that and I'm sure people will go crazy to it at concerts.
For sure!
I really love that Middle Eastern feel, as a westerner it's really interesting to the ear.🔥🤘🦊🤘🔥
Notwithstanding Su and Moa's awesome vocals, this could be totally an Infected Mushroom song (been to both BM and IM twice each) - especially from their Vicious Delicious album/period. I love this Metalizm.
Middle East style vibe, Egyptian, dubstep, sci-fi, Electronic dance, pyro techno amazing guitar solo like Shanti Shanti Shanti with BxMxC rapping style Metarizumu zumu zumu etc.... BABYMETAL they always surprises people since from the beginning love to see there choreography and the production about this while the kami band playing this song is gonna be fire. 🔥
🤘🦊🤘
I love this because it's basically Su-metal singing over an Infected Mushroom track.
This is another hazardous driving song and one I can just imagine live at a major Babymetal show.
Thanks Alan. Great breakdown!
Yeah, this is my favorite song from the new album - absolute bonkers, an absolute banger. 🙂
Lol it is absolutely bonkers
Quickly becoming one of my favorite tracks off the new album. I love Shanti Shanti as well, but as you said, totally different vibe on this one.
One of Babymetal's best songs. It's in my top 5 at least.
Nice! 🤘🦊🤘
This one is my favorite of the new album I have been waiting for this video to drop here forever
I am very excited to hear how this song transforms live.
Same!
Would be great if it was just Su sittin' on the front edge of the stage for the whole thing, kinda talking it to the audience...
@@ivannaidyonov718 Ohmura will play the guitar solo while the rest of the kami band joins the dance choreography
@@hachikuji_mayoi yeah could be wicked
I love that they don't give two shits about genre. These bizarre experiments are their thing.
SAME!
14:54 notice how it's a weird song, but still melodic, which means it's fairly accessible.
Can you imagine the huge Circle pits starting up on this one... feels like they made it just for that
🤘🦊🤘Did you know we have over 60 BABYMETAL Reactions? They are all right here ua-cam.com/play/PL1flmTbuu_RGm8QGgxz3aeKIJoGG88u2b.html
My personal first rule of Babymetal is expect the unexpected, that's why I'm obssesed with this song even from the first time I've heard it, it's crazy they're doing that lol. Just like when I first listen to BMC, just out of nowhere. That edm build up and leads up to that weird yet amazing solo made excited.
Need to remind many people this is a concept album~ Which is why its a bit more different than they were expecting.
I think everyone in Babymetal team are ready to face the world. The girls have been learning English non stop, they have English in a lot of her songs specially in mirror mirror and they are going heavier and more experimental, being only 2 girls now I don't think they will have cute performances but a bit more powerful
I guess u have to react to "Legend" too
I really like how the guitar solo sounds like an Arabic instrument called a mizmar which is a Reed instrument.
ahhhh
I think team Koba has been listening to a lot of Infected Mushroom, too, before tackling this monster, but this is still so unique and a stand-out track. That heavy brass sound is so Hans Zimmer-like, maybe they used UJAM's 'BRAAAHMS' plugin for it? The confusion between Indian and Arabic vibes is understandable because those cultures use similar scales, but Su's melisma style singing in the background anchors this one in the Middle East, just like her Indian classical phrase did the same with Shanti Shanti Shanti, defining it as Indian.
Those were definitely HAS zimmer like good point! and I guess need to go listen to infect mushroom. I have never heard of them
@@dicodec I guess Infected Mushroom fly underneath almost everyone's radar, but they are basically the TOOL of electronic music / psytrance, and they do love to incorporate guitars. Recommended first listens: 'Heavyweight', 'Guitarmass', 'Avratz'.
I uses this song to clear the rain off my rear window of my car in the morning - the answer to manufactures not fitting rear wind screen wipers.
Su definitely enjoys singing this.
🤘🦊🤘
Tomorrowlaaand lets goooo partyyy🤘🦊🤘
🤘🦊🤘
That ending is some kind of a low-key Doom there 🦊👌
The flood of intricate sound effects on this song inevitably reminds me of "Downward Spiral" by Nine Inch Nails.
This is one of those Babymetal songs that I probably wouldn't listen to often driving around in my car, but I bet it's amazing live just because of that beat. So I would still be happy if they played it at a show when I'm there.
Never in my mind i will headbangin while raise my fox sign in EDM drop with guitar solo 🤘😄 can't wait to see them live in Jakarta 😁
Right lol
1:22 if you look up instrument rasp, you usually get wooden instruments, maybe this is some simulated digital version of that ?
I really hear Queen from One Piece who's singing Zoom Zoom Zoom XD
Probably my fav song of there last albums ❤
Love the skrillex vibe😍
I love how you isolate Su’s vocals so we can appreciate her raw tatent 👌
Did you already react to THE LEGEND? I think i missed that :D
I really love to hear that album. (Sure i Love this song, and its verry dope but:) After a not really heavymetall song who named Matalism, the awesome doubblebass from Monochrome its just so epic.
there's always one more from every album like this..
Ok Alan here's your custom comment.. but first fixed that title, song is METALIZM with the capitals, not "Metalism" >_<
Second, France.
Third, i hate to say because i'm not into this genre anymore but i can't deny they`re big, the horns intro reminds me to Blackpink - How You Like That, maybe some inspiration to give this song an epic touch with that element. And i said it before i love edm and vibe with many songs, there's some section and effect sounds that reminds me DVBBS & Gorgeous - Tsunami, hear it and you tell me about it, also some mix got a little bit of Within Temptation Resist album from 2019 resemblance. Finally that guitar solo gave me some Rata Blanca vibes with Walter Giardino grooviness and magic fingers, highly suggest you "La Leyenda Del Hada Y El Mago" if you didn't already.
There you go your metal in METALIZM, Ryan! 😆🤘
I wasn’t sure if I liked the song because of how different it was. But after listening again I was like “this is genius!” 😂
I would love to see what vini vici could do with this song.
there should be the last one called The Legend?
I just realized that! And i filmed this morning
only Babymetal can make the word " Metalism " sound cute.
Lol 🤘🦊🤘
Arabian psytrance metal! 🕺💃🤘
The katakana pronunciation of METALIZM is メタリズム/Metarizumu.
Metarizumuzumuzumu = メタリズム/Metarizumu (metal rhythm) + ズムズム/zumuzumu (thrumming (e.g., with excitement)).
I hear it!
Hmm, nice goa/psytrance vibes. Reminds me a lot of Infected mushroom specifically.
It's like BabyPsyTrance with this song.
Babymetal has performed this song live in Japan and on the first day of the Sabaton support tour in the UK, yes, the choreography is just as weird as the song LOL 🙂
A little BxMxC with Shanti mixed-in, no? From Metal Galaxy.
Song has a Juno Reactor feel to it.
excellent content Alan-Metal, I thought you might like this song, maybe Egyptian Metal or Arabian Metal, whatever it is it is cool as the other side of the pillow. you said this was your last one, but did you do "The Legend"? dude it's got a saxophone solo.
This is an ultra heavy beat industrial song
I think the "Style" is Arabian
It is
Zumu Zumu is stuck in my head
🤘🦊🤘
Quote - Sounds like a Robot Farted!
I like MAYA the most actually but this one is sick too
Goa Trance + Metal
+ Arabian influences in the vocals and guitar play. the guitar start as a classic arabian sitar and it goes more and more in Metal style
Manali Trance
Is most arabic sound than indian, for me is like a ambient of dune, something spacial, trance and desertic.
Similiar to mikio's bending in his solo ,,, that's what i think of👏👏👏🔥🔥🦊
I can imagine this on geometry dash, now I want to play it with this sound😅
Nice lol
OG baby metal will always be the best
The part with the “Indian vibe” for me evokes Buddhist chanting, which is very much part of Japanese culture.
Ahhhhh yes!
This sounds like an Infected Mushroom song.
Never listened to them
Psytrance con guitarras . Estilo BLISS es muy común
Hige, cover metalizm. OMEGALUL!
Thank you for your hard work until midnight zmzmzm lol
Lol
sounds like Belle Sisoski collaboration...
So when can we expect a Dicodec cover to this song
Lol damn the guitar parts will be the easier part but everything else I am going to have to study and learn to get that sound design lol
The vocals almost sound like they are some type of throat singing but I don’t know shit about singing
this was weird as fuck... but after listening to it over and over again, I actually really dig it.
Hell yea!
Very nice breakdown. Not everyone like it though. Some think that it has too much repetition. But after your analysis, it has a lot of more complexity than meets the eye. 😮
To repetitive wow didn’t think that would be said about this one. But yea there is a lot more going on under there
Здорово! Спасибо, Алан!
It’s very Psy Trancey I love it
I saw someone say this sounds like 'Shanti Shanti Shanti' if it was written by MIGMA SHELTER, and know I can't unhear it! There's so many elements in this song that reminds me of things MIGMA SHELTER put in their music that I'd be interested to know if Meg-Metal and the team have worked with them, or taken some inspiration from the AQBIRec team. Meg has worked with other idol groups in the past, so it wouldn't surprise me. Anyway, great song and great review/reaction of it Alan.
Two separate songs for sure. I thought about it for a second
🍅💀🍅
🤘🏼🦊🤘🏼
Metarizumu zumu zumu !! !! !!
Great analysis / deconstruction / reaction. 😁
This one made so proud of BABYMETAL. So different, so out of the box as you said. It's weird because I didn't see it coming but it's exactly what I expected.
And yeah, mind blowing guitar solos.
🤘🦊
For some of us older generation might remember DR WHO from the 70s and early 80s the opening theme sound was a lot like the opening of this song.
I love metalizm
Clever the way the added Mikio's sweeps from CMIYC.
You think so?
@@dicodec that or Ohmura is playing with his style.
Putting all the great things you said aside, and they are of course all there, the "METALIZM ZM ZM ZM" alone makes me smile.
🤘🦊🤘
There is a Canadian folk singer/songwriter, Loreena McKennitt, that explored mixing Arabic and Celtic music in the nineties and naughties. I hear all of those elements in this. But, yes, more chaotic. And of course, Metalizm has Heavy Metal (and electronic) instrumentation instead of folk instruments. As for the guitar solo, think guitar with Irish fiddle envy.
metalizumu = metalism = Metalizm
Zumu zumu = onomatopoeia for thrumming
Great song. I like it a lot.
Ohhh i gotta listen ti something from them for sure!
