Any IP address beginning with 192.168.XXX.XXX is designated for private networks.Consequently, networking routers will typically decline routing packets containing these address range to external destinations. This method worked beautifully a few weeks ago, but now, when I type in the iPad's IP address to the PC browser and hit return, nothing happens. It doesn't bring up the VLC "drop files" page. I've tried it over several days to no avail.
The probable reason could be that your iPad got assigned a new IP address. Which can happen when something new changed in your network. This is due to something called DHCP which dynamically assigns IP address to your Ethernet devices that is connecting to your LAN. You have to find your IP address on your iPad before you can do this again. I hope this helps.
The videos are stored in your local storage device. It will never go away if you come back in couple of days or if you power cycle the device. But I have seen instances where if you connect to iTune, it did cleared the files. But the results are not consistent on newer Apple devices.

Asynchronous transfer of file is allowed, however the speed will start to deteriorate if there's too many files or too many large files. If you are interested, here are the technical details... VLC is using HTTP POST to upload file into the Apple iPad. Either way, looks like the VLC app has a miniature web server deamon running in the background. HTTP POST an old technology but used very cleverly by VLC. If you are curious, I am using Wireshark to sniff the packets. Run a simple cURL command from your Command Prompt, and you will see what I mean. curl

I use it on my DESKTOP BUT, Can you create Tic Toc vids on desktop and transfer them the same way? I create my TikToc videos using desktop and upload them using Desktop. The only challenge with Desktop is buffering video for later dates. That task in mobile device is very easy. In additional to that ,you also have to make sure that your video is sized to 1080 x1920, although TikToc accept other resolutions too, but your hit ratio substantially reduces if you do a landscape video, and therefore get lesser Followers. You can transfer multiple films files at the same time. But I have only done it with 3 files at the most mainly due to personal requirements.

No you will have to manually upload subtitle text file into the VLC and associate the filename as the video file.
