Hot take, but king boo is easily a more competent and far better villain than Bowser. Being able to successfully capture Mario on more than one occasion and just being alot more threatening/menacing in general.

Zoinks that is terrifying when I first played the 3DS remake of Luigi’s Mansion the whole game was scary I literally had a chill go up and down my spine
Waheed Abdullah I think they were playing off of Dark Moons final bosses, the second to last one was the final Possessor (as Hellen Gravely is the final hotel boss)
First game: King Boo dressed up as Bowser Second game: King Boo utterly chasing and fighting you at the same time. Third game: King Boo having to clone himself gradually phase-by-phase. WOW.
I don't care If 2 years have passed. You realize Luigi got trough an INTIRE night in a mansion full of ghosts (his greatest fear and some even got him into illusion dimentions) he wasn't even familiar with ( outside of Boos of course) searching for his Brother and at the end he fought a Bowser robot that he needed to defeat by chuching bombs at him so his head can be REMOVED from his body and King Boo can get out of the robot to get sucked up while the Bowser head floats throwing Ice balls and sometimes reataching to the body in the opposite direction. I don't know about you, but If i had to pass the same thing i would be laughing out of Joy If my sister would be in a funny situation After the bullshit i had to pass.

The 1st one will always be my favorite. The buildup is amazing, it felt the darkest, and King Boo is an awesome villain
