Much appreciated. I had a heck of a time trying to locate this in any of the Korg information. You're the first person I ran across that knows how to do this.
Glad it helped!
Love you man! .. thank you again!!!!
Excellent demo! Was deciding to swap Kronos for Nautilus Aftertouch. This convinced me I don't really need KARMA. Thank you!
Thanks for sharing 👍
Hi Francis ..great video. That's the closest sounding intro sound for that song I've heard 👍. Can you tell me how you created it ? Is there a factory patch that can be tweaked ? I use a krome but I guess it won't be that much different
Awesome! 😁
Loving these videos. The resolution is un-editable for me. I was hoping to mix 1/4 notes and 1/8 notes. Would that be possible? Thanks
Thanks sir pls make a video arp with rhythm separate scence

Awesome tutorial and love that Vince Clark song! Just bought the Nautilus. If you had to pick one keyboard workstation between Montage and Nautilus which would you pick and why? Thx!
The Montage is the Yamaha flagship while the Nautilus is a a higher end mid-tier board. The Kronos would be the direct competitor. I have them all and really wouldn’t trade one for the other. The two are complementary and fill in each other gaps in regards to the quality of specific sounds. Also depends on how you use them. If purely for performance, I prefer the Korgs for sound design, I enjoy the Montage more.
@@narfsounds Thanks! which one for composing without a computer? I write for TV and films. Thx again for your great content ;)
@@narfsounds PS I'm guessing the MODX+ is a better comparison to the Nautilus not the montage
👍👍👍
Hi have you enjoyed the Nautilus as much as a Kronos? Is it more of a pleasure to use? That screen looks amazing compared to the Kronos. I’m just interested in your opinion about the two keyboards. I sometimes get so frustrated, staring into the abyss of the Kronos screen, and this new version looks like a breeze to use.
To access some tabs that are on the Kronos screen, I need to press Page on the Nautilus which adds an extra step to the workflow. There's also no beep option for the Nautilus which I need as feedback as to whether a value change registered. I definitely enjoy using the Kronos more especially for programming.
Hi Narf, I've a Kronos and you may remember I shared the Kronos way to do this with you originally (via manipulation of a factory Karma GE)! Still waiting on my commission from you using it in your 80's booster pack, Ha LOL!! Regarding the Nautilus, its a board I'm interested in. Question - can you only assign 1 arpeggiator per program, but can you then stack them up in a combi resulting in something like 16 different arps running together in a massive combi? So you could effectively generate multiple custom bass, rhythm, arps and loads more accompaniments, like an arranger keyboard? thanks.
Yes thanks! that was an amazing discovery on getting that perfect rhythm. On the Nautilus combi, you can have 2 Arpeggios (2 midi channels) per scene and there are 4 scenes. So 8 unique arpeggios. Each scene can also have a drum track so 4 unique drum track patterns per program/combi. So only 2 simultaneous arpeggios and a drum track pattern per scene.
I'm trying to layer 4 sounds in combi mode and have the 4 arpeggio patterns I have just created for each of those 4 parts play together in combi mode. I don't think this is possible. It seems to only allow one global arpeggio pattern when in combi mode. Am I missing something? Thx
You can have 2 distinct patterns plus a customizable drum track simultaneously per scene. There are 4 scenes and you can reassign the midi channels per scene. You can essentially have 12 unique patterns distributed over 9 different midi channels.
@@narfsounds thanks Narf. You know i did an amazing thing, I actually read the manual after posting my question. I found out exactly that. I'd totally forgotten about the way combis worked at that point. Thanks for helping and taking the time to reply.
Hi sir narf, do have a korg kronos pattern of this tutorial, a little respect? :-)
I do in the Kronos Enthusiast Workshop group on Facebook
👍👍🏻👍🏼👍🏽👍🏾👍🏿
Hi, narfsounds ! Could you please make a video tutorial step by step how to create a program from scratch and how to create a program with you own samples on KORG KROME ? Thank you.
I don’t have a Korg Krome anymore. You’ll need a computer app to convert the samples to a Krome readable format then load those samples and use them as the basis of the sounds.
How do yiu do that on a kronos?
This function isn’t in the Kronos.
Is there anyway round it?
Karma, Step sequencer or Wave Sequencer. Read the video description:

Could you please tell me how to change octave for each individual voice in combi mode
Combi>Timbre Parameter>Pitch
I tried this one
But in pitch I can only see transpose
There's no octave changing option
Pitch +/-12 is an octave
I can create and name them, but your video seems to quickly pass over saving. The drop down says I will overwrite ALL patterns. That sounds scary!!! I just want to add new patterns.
yeah that's the command to save, the entire pattern mode is saved. It won't erase existing patterns.
Why did you use 16 steps instead of 8 since the pattern repeats?
Yes I should’ve
@@narfsounds ok thanks my rk100s2 only had 8 and I couldn't get it to sound right! Luckily it was just a setting that was messing up the arp rhythm.
