One of the reasons that Dabo catches so much flak is because he is an outspoken Christian. He also has enough backbone to stand up for what he believes is right. He is loyal to the young men that come to play there and keeps his word to develop them. They have the best culture in college football. Time will tell how this approach translates to field in the future but it sure has worked in the past. Go Dabo and go tigers!!
I like that he’s a Christian, but he also is very stubborn and unwilling to change which doesn’t serve him well in the NIL/ portal era.

Hey Bill. Just wanted to point out a factual correction. Clemson did offer several guys in the portal to fill a few spots. However, those players made other decisions, or stayed where they were. Didn't sound like you were aware of this.

@@timkinley1779 Generally teams of similar placing within their conference playing each other. It doesn’t mean much when UGA beat GA Tech but meant a lot more when they beat FSU. Likewise it looks bad when the ACC runner up (Louisville) lost to the 5th place PAC12 team (USC).

Lets not forget that Clemson beat Bama in the natty twice and kept the best GA tram out of the endzone completely in 2021- which might i add was their dominant team that won the natty .13-6(?) final score
No that was the 2022 team that won the Natty 65-7. Clemson played the 2021 2nd best UGA team and actually UGA kept Clemson out of the endzone. UGA ran an interception back for a touchdown and won 10-3
And it wasn’t the most dominant team, per se. the “team” was great but the defense was the dominant/ generational unit. Which did shut clemson down and also got shredded against a great Bama QB and receiving corp.

I'm so glad the SEC did away with divisions. Look forward to the day Auburn again plays Florida. That used to be a dogfight of a rivalry in the late 1970s and early 80s. That the conference just flipped the 2024 schedule to the opposite home/away for 2025 was just lazy. There's probably a Texas/Oklahoma excuse for it but that doesn't really introduce those new programs to the conference.

Then Michigan went out and didn’t play well and still won even when playing a bad game because Michigan was that much better. Watching the reactions of sec fans everywhere was hilarious. WITH ALL THE NEW THINGS COMING ABOUT INCLUDING THE 12 TEAM PLAYOFF AND CHANGES ABOUT TO COME UP YOU REALLY CAN’T MAKE ANY CHOICES UNTIL GAMES HAVE BEEN PLAYED AND SEASONS PROVIDE BETTER RESULTS TO KNOW. If you call paying players under the table as a model, then sure... throw Alabama in the mix.

If you are a skilled recruiter who isn't a particularly gifted strategist, then Kirby Smart's program at Georgia is ideal; all you have to do is simply lean on your depth chart of 4-5 stars, and your 3rd String sometimes is more talented than your opponent's starting lineup.
But if you want to maintain continuity, keep a lot of players who will be drafted into the NFL but aren't necessarily 1st Round picks, and recruit mainly to fill holes while using NIL to keep your best players for the long haul, than I would take Michigan -- which is actually the model I prefer, if you aren't a stud recruiter like Kirby Smart but are good at evaluating talent and at X's-and-O's like Jim Harbaugh.

This is so stupid. Uga has had top recruiting for the last several years. They are already favored to win. I expect Clemson to put up a good fight though. Hope it's a classic game.

The game of football hasn't changed so much where experienced coaches, assistants, or players have suddenly forgotten how to play football. They are not playing in "The Stone Age." If Uga wins, it will will be because they have a better team or QB right now, not because football has suddenly completely left some coaches by the wayside.

South Carolina was the first conference game of the year for them, classic looking ahead game for the Georgia vs Auburn rivalry game. Jordan Haire is a cursed place to play unless you’re New Mexico State, it was a 2:30 kickoff on CBS primetime so wasn’t surprised it took 4 quarters to put them away. but I’ll end it with this
Smart has the blueprint Saban used at Alabama, multiple former assistants of Saban have tried his blueprint and failed in different ways. Kirby Smart is the only one that has succeed thus far. Georgia hasn’t lost a single regular season game since Covid year of 2020. and if you don’t count Covid year then 2019 to South Carolina in an OT game. so what makes you is think Clemson is winning 1st game of the season?
