It’s really helpful how you talk us through the decision making process for decluttering. Most of us have trouble making a decision and following through! LOL! That’s why my Control Journal is so helpful. No need to dither - I just get on with checking off the list.
Starting out the week with you is just such a treat! Enjoyed the benefits of having a clean, tidy house this weekend with our Father's Day breakfast at our house. I did a little mental 'thank you, Diane'.
Thanks for the Monday morning pep talk. I've been doing the flylady method for the past few months and find it so helpful. I've tried in the past but it was so overwhelming. Your help and videos has made all the difference. I think my husband is in a bit of shock at how tidy things have been. He had a plumber stop by unannounced a few days ago and I didn't even mind because I knew the bathroom was clean and tidy (thanks to swish and swipe)! Also...we might have borrowed the word Bahookie and the kids use it often! ❤️
Diane, thank you for walking us through your declutter process. It really helps to see a live example. It feels very satisfying to incorporate Fly Lady into my daily routine!
Looking lovely as always, you really suit your new top. Love the lawn mower away to see if we could have one too! Our kids here in Scotland are on holiday in 2 weeks, looking forward to keeping my routines going instead of falling into unhappy chaos!!! Just recently started to keep my routines going on the weekends and its made such a difference, no longer feel guilty doing stuff and my Mondays feel like a new start and not a depressing catch up! Thanks Diane xxx
Suzanne - I have also started keeping my routines on the weekend. I love your expression about Mondays as a new beginning rather than a depressing catch up! I will keep that in mind the next time I am tempted to slide off on the weekend 😊.
I watch your videos daily, I'm new to FlyLady but I have a decluttered house already. I'm just happy to have the FlyLady concepts and the weekly ideas going to keep on top of everything. I think you are very sweet and really enjoy your videos. Thanks Diane!!!
I’m also focusing on decluttering my tops today plus I need to go through the drawer of my nightstand which I tend to use as a catch all. Thanks for the encouragement and have a lovely day. (I also love Lawnie!)
I am surprised at how much I love the aubergine color on you. Even the camera picks up on how the aubergine brings out the warm tones in your hair and complexion. I never would have guessed that I would have liked it more than navy on you. It goes to show that it is worth trying new things. And I am starting to see how the DYT T1 avoidance of black makes sense. I am T3 and have been resistant to letting go of black pants. Your fine tuning of your wardrobe for size of stripe and feel of fabric is really encouraging me to take my time and be happy with the weekly small improvements. THANK YOU!!!
I'll miss you on Tuesday and Thursday! You have me exercising most days. When I don't want to, I hear your voice in my head saying just move for 15 minutes. I'm also doing my routines. Thank you so much.
I love your robo lawn mower :) I have a robo vacuum and love it. I live in Arizona and have stones all around my property, so no grass to cut. But if I did have grass to cut I would get a robo one for sure. When we moved to our new home last year I wanted a fresh start, so we got rid of 75% of what we owned. Our home is so easy to take care of , everything has its place and I spend maybe 10 minutes a day doing housework :) I love Mondays too! They are always a fresh start to a week! tfs 💐💐💐💐💐💐💐
No gym today but garden work between appointments. I totally emptied my little closets and vacuumed out. Wiped off my Elfa storage units . All in fresh order in my zone. Apple wood is desirable to burn in our area for cooking. The robot lawn mower looks a good for seniors! I ordered some fall tops that were on sale for a very good price. I have to order since I am tall. We are decorating for our Fourth of July holiday, we are such kids, since it is Alan’s birthday as well!
I don't know what my garden will look like when I get back. The front won't be too bad as it is landscaped and there are ground cover plants in between trees and shrubs but the back garden is another matter. We just had a deluge here. It is cataclysmos . A greek holiday. In the morning all the children in the village were playing with water. They were probably running about in the rain when it came. Oh my goodness I have just remembered my sheets are on the line. Have a lovely week . Love Margaret
Thanks for the great video. Your yard is lovely. I like lawny lol. You look beautiful i your new top and cami. Really nice colour and style on you. You sure have a lot of energy. That was sweet of your son to bring u coffee...that would NEVER happen at my house lol 🤗 have a super day.
Thankful I had a minute to watch before I tackle my bedroom today. Lots of decluttering to do. I have a huge bedroom and everyone seems to drop their clutter here! No more!! You look amazing and I think this white top with the chocolate piping will look real cute on you! 💞😊🏝
I just looked the lawn mower thing up. 3000-4000 danish krone is about 400-600 us dollars, and I was able to find an electronic mower for about $630. But the average push lawn mower is closer to $150-200 here, so you still have to budget a lot more for the automatic kind then the manual.
I am in Zone 4 today as well. Just did the dusting of the ceiling and baseboards. ⏰ I must confess I did that in another bedroom and the bathroom as well. 🛏🧹 Now dusting the flat surfaces in one bedroom. Warm and humid day here so there may be some storms later. 🌦 Love the chocolate brown items!👜👍
Another lovely and motivational video, Diane! Thank you! I also wanted to share that I recently got into Dressing Your Truth and have had so many “aha” moments with it (fellow T1!). I love it! Thank you for sharing your journey!
That top is pretty, looks so "dressy" on you. Good tip about keeping up routines; with all that's going on I feel myself slipping some days. Thanks for the reminder.
Thank you Diane, for another great video. Though I'm T4, I was agreeing with you as you decluttered your clothes. Especially what you said about the "feel" of one of your tops, being too flowey , not crisp enough. That helped me to decide on one of my Winter tops that I'm just not wearing. You're always such a help. Love your videos. By the way, it's because of your beautiful enhancement of DYT that drew me to it in the first place. 😊👍💛xox
Thank you for the great videos. I really find them so helpful. I have asthma and my husband is very allergic to grass - our symptoms improved after we stopped hanging washing and bed linens outside to dry. A shame to miss out on the fast drying but decided our health was more important. Not sure how much you and your family suffers from asthma and pollen but thought I'd pass this on. I appreciate all your videos! Thanks.
I do the same thing with the hangers and it really helps...I also use Cladwell and it too, is very helpful to see what I truly reach for and those things I don't....Big Hugs....
Good morning from Colorado. :) Thanks for this video. It is so nice to see you in your garden. You are such a sunshine. :) I did not even know that there is such a thing called tree surgeon. :)
I sooo enjoyed this today😊😊 I must say, that new blouse that you are wearing from your clothes swap today is gorgeous on you. I would say it is the exact color of a choc T1!! The style is just my style too:) Still clothes deficient here; I struggle with motivation to find/ buy items, so I keep wearing the same 4-5 tops total. Uggg I am so bored of them. I would totally be trying your decluttered tops at the next C/S party if I could teleport myself, haha Someone once said, " "I don't like clothes shopping; I'd love to open my closet and just see the clothes already there." That's me! Thank you for showing " Lawn-ee." I can't wait to show DH; I LOVE It!! What a sweet DS that you have; I cherish when mine does that as well. He's an energetic T1 and will serve me without my asking when he visits. XXX from MO sent your way; Happy Monday🌷🌞😊
Hi Julie - I also struggle with clothes shopping BUT I like to feel good in nice clothes! Recently I've been using the timer idea for clothes shopping. Obviously 15 minutes isn't enough, but I give myself 1 hour. I go into the shops where I've had the most success in the past, and I treat it like a task to move through quickly like in flylady zone cleaning! I put as many things in the cart that I can then go into the change room and try on the load. I will do this twice. That's my Max! Another option that might work well for you is online shopping. If you haven't tried this before, look at the labels inside the clothes you own and like, then look at that particular brand online and you will see what else they have on offer. You can find great sales this way, online, and the clothes are delivered to your door. No actual "shopping!" But for both of these methods, I set my timer! 😆
@@mixedmedialife7916 Thank you for the advice! I never thought about applying the timer to clothes shopping. That's genius. It works for everything else, so it would surely work for my store phobias, haha I do mostly online shopping, but had not thought about noticing the labels and looking for those brands. I have a few items that I recently found at my 1st visit to a charity shop and the brands fit me well! They are Chico and Express; I especially love the fit of the Chico pants. I will take your tips gratefully:) :) I just remembered how Diane has told us, "It's not you that is wrong; it's the clothes that are wrong." I love that, don't you?!
@@Julie-ok5fr I've never heard her say that but I love it and I'm going to adopt it so thanks for that! Good luck with the timed shopping 😊. Move as quickly as you can 😊.
Hello dear ladies (and gentlemen), just a quick little reminder that you should never keep your robot lawnmowers running overnight or in the evening. They pose a real threat to hedgehogs who can and wil get their little feet and snouts caught in these things and the blades can cause terrible (and mostly fatal) injuries. Take a quick little control walk through your garden, especially in long grass, before you switch them on, as hedgehogs love to sleep there and might not even be aware of the lurking danger. (Also they don't run at loud noises but just curl up.) So, let the robots do their work during daytime. Better safe than sorry. :)
So nice to have you back! I've been getting my head round the cleaning glass in the zone and if you follow MR and ER and WHB, that many jobs are just done as a matter of course, and right at the end of this video you say what you will do in the bedroom and that will probably be your 15 mins for the zone this week. Can I ask where you bedroom floor falls into things? Do you do a special upstairs vacuum....where does that fit in? Or do you do it under zone cleaning? I have all soft floors upstairs so vacuum in WHB, my downstairs hard floors get done almost daily due to coal dust (bliss when we can shut down the fires for the summer!) Just wondered about your low traffic floors....thanks Diane xx
Karen, I have wood bedroom floors and I vacuum every week during WHB because my place is small and on one level. During the zone week, I use a dust mop with a washable microfiber pad to get all the way under the bed and under and behind other furniture. After I get up most of the dust, I run around with a skoosh-skoosh bottle to damp mop the fine dust. That's my 15 minutes one day. Detail dusting and glass surfaces is another day. A procrastination project is a third day and a decluttering project is a fourth day. I don't do zone work on WHB days or weekends. I like to wash floor rugs on WHB days as an easy LOL because I don't need time to fold and put away. In general, I spot clean spills as they happen to avoid floor finish damage. I also do a "crumb cruise" with a long handled broom and dust pan as part of my daily evening routine. I don't sweep areas. I just scout for crumbs, sand (I live near a beach) or anything that I want to prevent tracking from room to room. It has made a difference in how I feel when someone stops by on a whim. 😄
@@DianeinDenmark Thanks Diane, that's great, I'm on the flylady uk page and I just know that question will come up sooner or later. I can't answer it based on my home as my layout is different to the norm with 2 staircases at either end of a long house, one of which is carpeted to carpeted bedrooms (vac in WHB) and everything else is wood (so mopped almost daily....coal fires are pretty but very dirty!) Like you we take shoes off at the door for indoor shoes and they come off at the carpeted stairs for soft slippers or socks or will still transfer coal dust onto the pale carpet! Look ing forward to my next re-watch of Babysteps...I'm feeling so much better than anti-depressants have ever managed xxx
