im a big fan of tubular bumpers over the plate steel style. theyre lighter, stronger and look better in my opinion. i have a OR fab tubular bumper going on my XJ build
I agree! The Smittybilt bumper was good to me but I wanted to update the look of the jeep and also put the jeep on a diet 😬. I think the tube style is my go to for the truck too I really like how they look.
really diggin the xj, reminds me of the old kaiser jeeps in a way, and once i saw the channel name, i knew i had to come check it out, subscribed, brother
I appreciate it alot, I never thought about the Kaiser look of the jeep but I love it. Those old Kaisers would be one of my goal vehicles to own and build up. We’re all about freedom over here so glad you’re subscribed 😎🇺🇸
@@2AOverland dude, hell yeah. and if you're ever near central-east missouri, feel free to hit me up, maybe we can go shooting or something, if you're interested
The bumper tie in brackets that you used make me feel better about my own DIY tie in brackets I made for my bumper. I used 1/4" flat steel, and my bumper is 3/16" 2x4" square tube so it should be pretty stout in comparison to the Barnes stuff you used. I was worried I didn't build it enough.
I’ve thought about it! If I got 97+ I would need the fenders to match and then the hatch would look out of place and I would need to replace that too lol
@@2AOverland there’s a guy on Etsy who already makes an adapter for the Comanche that allows you to bolt on Jk taillights he’s working on one for the early XJs now
Damm that looks awesome dude I was always a fan of the xj that thing is in a class by it self … I have a Jeep jk and I have the rear Pritchett canyon bumper and I looking to match the front with the same my question is how much does this bumper weights thanks
Thanks man I appreciate it! 😊 Im sorry I don’t remember the exact weight but I want to say the entire bumper weighs about 50-75lbs 😬 it’s light enough to easily install by yourself and was about 1/3 to 1/4 the weight of my previous Smittybilt bumper.
Thank you :) I should of went the tube bumper route a while ago. I would of loved to make my own but I would need to get all the fabrication tools and time to do it 😂 there’s not enough time in the day anymore
Hi. Do you feel that the bumper tubes on each end adequately protect the lower front corner of the header panel? In the video, it appears that the tubes on the bumpers are a little shorter than the width of the header panel on the jeep. Any close calls on damaging those corners?
I’ve had zero issues with my header panel since running this bumper! I feel it’s adequately protected and if it gets damaged then it would be at a weird angle or situation
Looks great on your rig !!!! Cheers from B.C. Canada.
Thank you! I appreciate it! 😊

Where did you get the OR Fab tube bumper?
That looks awesome! I wonder if those conversation plates and bumper would work for a ZJ?
I’m not sure 😬 I would call Barnes to confirm
Warn Vr 10S. Great winch that won't break the bank
Thanks for watching! Great minds think alike, the the exact one I’m looking at getting

Oh yeah your setup is beefy then! You’re not gonna have to worry about hitting an animal or obstacle 😂
The xj is coming along. I vote for a 97+ front end or the original headlights!

Looks bad ass!
Thank you! Can’t wait to get the jeep out in the rocks and test it!
adapter brackets... who knew. glad I found your channel. my wallet isnt. 🤣
No problem man 😂 my wallet isn’t happy I made this channel!
It’s a baby jku 😂 looks great 👍 now just need some jk tail lights for it
Thank you! 😂 idk about JK taillights but I wouldn’t mind twilight boxes and different lights for the jeep 😂

Good to know 👀 could you possibly post the link for me to check out?
Came out nice 👍🏽 looks tuff 💪🏽
I appreciate it man 😎
Súper!🍀👌
Thank you!
I always felt like the 4 door JK was just a modern version of the XJ.
Hows the front bumper brackets holding up? Have you used a winch on it yet?
Zero issues so far but unfortunately I still don’t have a winch hooked up to test them
Your stuff is looking pretty dope! If you plan to use the winch a lot, definitely make the investment for the long haul.
Good point I think I’m going the warn route and call it done

@@2AOverland I hear that! I treat my Jeep like a hobby. When I get the urge, I like to fabricate things :)
Same, I think it’s normal for xj owners to tinker 😊

can you get a photo from the side?
Sure I can do that for you. How would I be able to send it to you?
What sliders are you running?
XO fab DIY rock sliders
The stock bumper was pulled off. It ripped the bolt holes on the passenger side. How do I fix that?
Thanks for watching! A set of weld on unibody stiffeners would be your best bet to fix those holes
Considering this bumper. How you liking it man ?
Zero issues 😎 lightweight and higher clearance then what I had before
@@2AOverland awesome, thanks!
Sorry one more question, how how’s it been when using for recovery ? Pretty strong ?
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻❤️🇺🇸
Thanks for watching brother 😎👍
Agree it looks sexy
its painful to hear you talk like a robot....
I don’t know what to tell you.. go watch somebody else then? That’s just how my voice is lol
