Just ordered this after trawling the reviews. It appeals because I like Eros EDT a lot but don't wear it much when out because it smacks of trying too hard for a man of my age. I'm 54.

Nicely done. I like them both and I agree with everything you said. Eros is a bit sweeter, lasts longer and projects heavier for me but 1981 is a very refined fragrance and I like the tobacco as well. I seem to get more compliments from younger women with Eros.
Great video bro. I have both, and I agree with you. Eros edt is a good one for the collection, but it's just something about 1981. It's more grown up and has more depth to it. I get compliments with it more than Eros too.

Put on LA 1981 yesterday not as strong as Versace Eros when it comes to projection but it most definitely a scent that you could rock on the regular!! Keep it up fam!

@@lklkv5237It depends. They make Eau De Parfum Eros, which is of course stronger. There are 5 fragrance levels, the lowest is Eau Fraiche, then Eau De Cologne, then Eau De Toilette, then Eau De Parfum and the strongest is just Parfum. Eau Fraiche and Eau De Cologne have very little scent oils, under 5%. Eau De Toilette has at most 15%. Eau De Parfum has around 25% max, and Parfum can have over 50% scent oils. As the scale goes up, so does the amount of alcohol, which enhances the scent. So as the scale goes up, the scents get stronger and last longer.
Just walked out of Ross...with Guess 1981 Los Angeles...gave it a quick mist... definitely a more tone down mature version of Eros... hidden gem for rea for $16 bucks

I just the Guess 1981 LA on Friday. Let me say this… it’s Eros with plum, amber, ginger, and tobacco. I LOVE THIS on the dry down compared to the EDT of Eros, although I do have Eros EDP and Flame, which are to me, STILL superior to this in their own ways. That’s said, NO MORE Eros EDT and I’ll be rocking with the Guess with NO QUESTION as a daily driver since it’s less pronounced.

Good video. If you like eros you will definitely like this. If you have eros and want a good back up bottle to use for small errands things like that and not waste the higher dollar bottle. This one fits the bill. It last about a good 3 to 4 hrs. May not project too strong but if someone comes in for a hug they will smell it forsure. Small bottle is 16.99 and 3.4 is around 19.99 man its well worth buying.

1981 LA is my go to daily driver. I tried Eros in the department store, and I have to say I prefer the Guess. I may get Eros later, but Guess is just 👌👌👌

How many is longevity?
Los Angeles 1981 to my nose smells a little soapy and woody but I can't smell the tobacco, I have Paris' Corner Wild Tobacco (Mancera's Red Tobacco clone) and I can smell the tobacco right away!.To me Eros has a strong minty vibe which I don't like as much as I like 1981 Los Angeles subtle mint note, that's my opinion though!
It’s a woody warm Eros the mint they are close you can layer them guess Los Angeles is $20 100ml can’t beat that and lasts good I also wear the guess more too one cheaper but quality is par one younger one more mature both great
I'm in my early 20's and just ordered the 1981 bottle from Amazon. Really hope I still like it even though it is for older men. Main reason I got this over the Eros is the price, however, I do hope I get to try out the Eros at some point as I'm sure it's great.
Although 1981 is a bit more mature, I wouldn’t say it’s for older guys. If you like the Eros DNA your gonna enjoy 1981 for sure.

I got a 1.7 of the GUESS today and it smells great but the performance is not the greatest. You can still smell it after 4 hours but you gotta put your tshirt in front of your nose

I absolutely love 1981, but come on Guess...make the product last longer than 1-hour! I'd gladly pay more for it if the concentration was higher. Same with the Cuba line.
I get at least around 4 hrs. It stays a skin scent for a while after that. Not great, but not terrible. I'm just gonna buy another bottle and spray more.

I personally wouldn’t wear it in hot weather.. it does project decent as a fragrance tho.
