I can't wait to see the innovation of Harrelson trumpets. I look forward to seeing the aperture device on the kick-started or backer kit. With the new laser machines, the new tools, and the Trumpeta will be out of this world.
The King has a beautiful vibrant sound, I think they had a duel bore .458-.468. The intonation seems ok but the sound you’re getting out of it really beautiful. Tons of core, depth, right in the middle of the spectrum, not to bright not to dark. They have to be one of the most underrated vintage horns in history.
I bought a second hand bravura last year (dated 2011) lp1 bell 6, and love it. I came from a blessing ML-1, i use an ergobrass support for the bravura, as it's a bit heavy on the neck and shoulders, but otherwise it's great.
Hi Jason! I bought a Summit from you back in 2016 (4/10, with machined tuning slide and bell crook.) Other than upgrading to a Muse, what additional benefits might come from buying one of your new designs? Are the new designs as efficient as my Summit?
The Summit G4 series coming in November will be the same or greater efficiency depending on your current configuration, but also much lighter in weight. And ergonomics have been greatly improved.
Just because someone can not afford a product or will not allow themselves to afford a product does not make that company or it's products elitist at all. We all find ourselves surfing the continium of wealthy and poverty at various parts of our lives. It is diffacult to put a value on utility for some things where it is far easier to make said comparisons on either things. For instance I can add fertilizer to a crop and easily keep doing that over time and figure out the margin of return on investment in fertilizer vs crop yield. It is far more diffacult to do that with a pair of running shoes, quality of meat vs nutritional gain in human or in something like a musical instrument. Sure you could measure durability of the pistons or resonance spectral output with machines but that would not tell you much about how much utility or value each individual player/owner would precieve or get from the trumpet. Musicians tend to favor voodoo and marketing over actual science! I do not think anyone that has not been fitted by you, tried your products for themselves or purchased a trumpet can really make negative claims about value though and remain credible. Just like not everyone that owns a Corvette can drive it to it's limits safely and extract maximum performance from it because they lack the skill to do so that should not deminish what the Corvette is and it's incredible value compared to far more expensive cars like Porsche, Ferrari, Bugahtti etc....Compared to Taylor and Monette forinstance your trumpets are far better values and I would say far better trumpets! I have tested and applid some of your idea's myself and purchased parts from you. I have played some of your horns in the past as well. Some people sell the sizzle better than you do and they spread the BS voodoo and artisan old world craftsmanship nonsense better than you do but no one brings science, materials, cutting edge manufacturing methods, and true value and honesty like you do! No one does it like you do it because it would be too diffacult for them to learn/teach themselves the multi-disaplanary and ecclectic methods that you draw from cutting edge machining, manufacturing, materials science, physics, pedogogy that you are drawing from. Any place you find inspiration or a new idea you explore no matter what industry the origanal idea came from. You do not care about convention if that thinking is going to hold you and your designs back. Your not afraid to fail! You are very much cut from the same clothe as someone like Nikola Tesla but in the trumpet making industry! People fail to appreciate you and your company because they have never tried anything new or cutting edge and came close to failing and pushed through it! They have no idea how much thought, trial and error, and sticking points and effort goes into dreaming something up, attempting to make it real, running into a problem and having to work through it to come out the other side with an idea/design that does what you intended it to do! A mass cnsumer that just wants to go to a store and purchase a fleshed out product that does what it has always done and is lowest cmmon denominator might actual lack the ability to understand what they are seeing, experincing or being told about. Even though I wish you trumpets cost less truth be told you should be charging far more than you do for your trumpets!

Great Job :)

That King sound was solid. Good to see Harrelson bringing it!
