The Berhinger actually sounds and little fuller and brighter to me. A more scooped type of sound. Sounds like the Berhinger is a great deal. I liked the vocal quality of the 57 better though.
Guitar Everyone I was going to write pretty much exactly that, but Guitar Everyone bet me to it! Yeh, Berhinger for electric guitar, Shure for spoken voice.
I’m buying it!! The Behringer sounds cleaner than the Shure at the same settings. I’m looking for some mics to start off with so this will work great! Cheers!🎸🎸🎵🎼🎵

Personally if you’re taking them out gigging get the shure (built like a tank) if they’re just for the studio grab the behringer (I prefer the sound) can’t go wrong really.
Wow I am very impressed about this Behringer microphone compared to the shure ! Thanks for the reviewing, it's very complete and I especially like the vocal test part.
After using 57s for years, I actually like the Behringer more. Through headphones, it just sounded a little fuller, instead of the midrange of the Shure.
Wow, what a huge difference... More and deeper bass response on the SL75C is so obvious. Makes popping the mic so much more intense. I'd be keen to try the SL75C on a snare drum. The SM57 almost sounds thin in comparison. More weapons to get for the recording studio arsenal ...
Thanks so much for these compares, Shawn!! I'm a pleasure player these days & don't spend much on gear. The SL 75C is about $20 here in the states and I will probably get 1 or 2 to go with the GLS ES-57 I have here somewhere. Thanks a ton & keep up the great vids!! Oh, dug your vid with TXBA recently, they're up the road a piece from me here.....
I'm really looking forward to the head to head comparison between the Behringer's and the other two industry-standard microphones. Your run through of the e906 was first-rate! Keep up the good work.
The Behringer SL 75C sounds very impressive compared to the Shure SM57. I’m not sure how it would hold up over time and abuse that the SM57 is known for but you could buy 5 of them for the price the Shure goes for.
To my ear the Behringer was fuller and brighter where the SM57 seemed a little more scooped. I'm sitting here at my laptop though so I need to get into the studio and listen on Monitors. However I am intrigued... I really want to hear this against the Pyle. I might have to buy one just to do an A/B here. Great video as always Shane.
Behringer KILLS the Shure! More fuller response and better attack! 57 sounded nasally, esp with dist tones, cleans it was much closer! But the 75 still seemed to have a nicer transient response and attack!
I like the Behringer better! something bugs me about the sm57, ive had one for over 20 years and just started recording electric guitar with it and i find the sm57 to mid rangy, thin and harsh. your video proves this and Behringer sounds clearer and not so midrangy! the SL75C is only 19 dollars usa price. Thanks for the great video! Just purchased one!
Nice Review Shane! The Behringer seems to push more bottom and highs where the Sure is pushing more mods and highs. Nothing that couldn’t be EQ’d in or out with either one I guess. Behringer seems to have upped their bar when it comes to Mics. Years ago the band I was working with bought Behringer 5800s for rehearsals and mine still sounds decent today. Great job Shane. Please keep up the Good Work Mate! Love your Channel! Please be Safe and stay Healthy! Cheers from Salem, Ohio US!!
Can you do a video comparing any and all of the sm 57 style mics? I love the sm57, and your review of the Pyle really gave me some interest and purchasing possibilities for recording with multiple mics as a poor person. I'd love to see how they all stack up against each other. I've seen positive reviews of the stagg, digital reference, etc. thanks fir all you do from Boston, Massachusetts.
Another great review Shane, not much in it really. I think maybe the Shure for vocals, jmo. PS. I checked out Chris Kane on youtube and had my head blown off..Why is this guy not HUGE. I listened to hours of youtube videos..It made my day man. Thanks for the heads up.. T. :)
Wow, another great mic for those of us on a tight budget. Thanks for these, between this and the last beri you reviewed, that is a whole mini studio set up for under 100!
Bought one based on this video. The price is unbeatable - $20 vs. $99? That’s a no brainer for sure. Never would have thought to check B&H for this, so thanks for sharing.
I’ve heard good things about the beghringer vocal microphone also in comparison to the sure SM 58 so this comes as no surprise. I think I might go get one for the amount of times I’m going to Mike up an amplifier and just be for a bit of fun so I’ll pick one up in Australia for 50 bucks save the coin. I have a lot of Beighringer gear. I recently purchased an acoustic pedal and it’s a gem and get super high marks on reviews also.
Great video! I've been using the Behringer XM8500 on my videos for several years now, but had no idea that they made an SM57 or an e906 version. I'm definitely gonna have to pick up the SL 75C and give it a run. It sounded fantastic here.
Hey Shane. Great video. I've been using the Pyle version for home recording and it also sounds good. I even have my drums miked with the Pyle drum Mike kit. Damn I'm a cheap bastered!
If someone just had told this to me, I wouldn't believe. The Behringer sound way better (to me) in some pickup positions. Incredible, unbelievable price

I got this affordable microphone 🎤 Behringer 75 and I am very pleased with the quality and the sound. I can even connect it directly to my camera Canon M50 via XLR to 3.5 cable and record much better sound for my voice over talking. I can go with a mixer but it is just so much more things to connect. Sometimes you just need to get things done good enough, not perfect.
I just bought my first interface and am now looking a getting a mic. This Behringer looks perfect! They seem to be sold out in the UK just now, like lots of other electronics at the moment. Great video, cheers Shane!
Hard to fault either one of those mics. Behringer is good stuff for not a lot of cash. I have an older 545 Sd I use on guitars; not much difference between it and a 57 to my ears. If I needed a 57 ish mic, the behringer is a no-brainer.
Oh my god, I'm blown away by the extra amount of body the Behringer Mic adds in comparison with the sm57. I prefer the Behringer while owning a sm57. That Behringer will be bought soon 😀
It's interesting how the sl75c sounds brighter than the sm57, I own the Behringer and I'm *very* pleased with the stuff I can get from it. I got the sl75c for about US$35 here in Mexico through Amazon and I use it for guitar tracking and podcasts most of the time and the little guy always delivers. Do I feel like I need a Shure? Not at all. Would I buy another sl75c? Of course. I'm tempted to try the b-906, though...
So little in it! Both absolutely do the job. I'll give the nod to the Shure but that's possibly because it's what I happen to own as a dynamic but I have a Behringer small diaphragm condenser and it is excellent.
10:09 it already sounds fantastic for such a budget mic! what a steal! Was thinking of the Shure SM57 of doing simple home recording, now im set on the SL75C!
Make a comparison where you match them sound as close as you can and make it an A/B. That way it will be harder to guess, cause from this video we hear the SM57 has a mid-range bump. Btw great video, showing their true sound! P.S. Behringer vs Shure SM57 & Senheiser e906 - great idea, hope you will make it asap! :)
For a super cheap mic, it does a decent job. I already have a Shure SM57, but with the SL75C costing less than £20, I would consider buying one as a back up.
Hey man nice vid I’ve just got this mic and it’s making a fairly loud static noise which is kind of distracting over the guitar. I noticed you didn’t have this so as wondering if you thought it could be the interface I was using or something you’re doing different?
The Behringer sounds a little brighter and maybe a tiny bit harsher in the high end. Also seems to have a little more gain, so that could be contributing. Sounds really good, and maybe with some EQ, I might end up liking it more than the '57. They're under $20 right now in the States, I'm definitely going to have to grab one.
The SM57 sounds harsher and thinner and basically bumped in the higher frequencies. The Behringer sounds warmer and the mid vocal range frequencies are much more pleasing. Can’t wait to watch the B906 review to see how that does compared to the e906.
Hey Shane, where did YOU buy it from? I'd gather Amazon, however none of the links work other than Thomann, but they're out for about 5-6 weeks. I actually preferred it in this case to the SM57 for guitar (especially on distorted tone). But I think the 57 sound much better as a vocal mic than the Behringer.
Personally I think Behringer 75C had way too much proximity effect on the bass frequencies. One of the typical ill-effects of a overly hot, chinese mic capsule. One of the reasons they purposely do this is to fudge the signal to noise ratio spec figures. You can really notice it on the speaking plosives test. If you record any guitar palm muting, it will really take a lot of correction in post production to sort out. If your starting out on a budget, go for it. After trying a few other chinese mics, masquerading as studio classics, my new motto is buy nice or buy twice.
Meh, and it comes down to mic PLACEMENT as well! Too much proximity? Move the mic AWAY from the speaker a few more inches or closer to the centre, less bass response. Move and listen, then BALANCE the response until it sounds good both ways!
Funny. In your comparison between the E 906 and the B 906, the Behringer was darker and more closed in sounding. Here it's the opposite. A brighter and less dead sounding SM57. Me likey!
Glenn Fricker did a SL57 / SM57 comparison and honestly I thought the SL sounded better both in his review and this one. The Shure is definitely a higher quality microphone but honestly I think this mic has it beat on every other point.
Little off topic here... you’re trampas green prs custom 24 se is the exact model I had before money issues kicked in ... btw I’m in no way any where near the player most are ... but that guitar was one of those that kept me playing longer , wether noodling or practicing or trying to learn songs..... the tone imo right in between strat/Tele and a Humbucker les Paul and able to venture further into the strat tone or Paul tone if need be ... watching /hearing you play the same exact guitar has made me all but decide I must replace it with same guitar asap ... it’s gorgeous on top of it
The Behringer is better . I am not biased , but I have been using Behringer mics for years to record guitar amps with excellent results . Not surprised .
I have this mic and it sounds great but everytime it gets bumped or if you handle it for vocals it makes insanely obvious resonant noises. You can fix that by unscrewing the capsule and filling the bottom part of the shaft with epoxy. The result is a better mic than the sm57 as it sounds slightly better to me and its ridiculously cheaper!
Are you sure, this didn't go through any EQ process before upload to UA-cam? Some of reviews on UA-cam are talk or even sound different? Sorry just want to be more selective to buy a microphone..
Great video thank you. If you were to choose just one mike, to mike up a combo, in a live gig scenario, which would you recommend, The B906 or the SL 75C? I just don't have enough channels on the PA for 2 mikes per amp. Thank you.
Behringer KILLS the Shure! More fuller response and better attack! 57 sounded nasally, esp with dist tones, cleans it was much closer! But the 75 still seemed to have a nicer transient response and attack!
I know patents and trade marks often expire but I'm pretty surprised at all the clones that Behringer make, especially with Roland gear. You may also not be able to copyright a tone/sound but you can with a song including instrumentals
@intheblues, Sean or anyone: ... I have just purchased this Behringer to record el. guitar (thanks to this great review). The sound would be great, but I found that there is an unacceptable amount of noise (50Hz and harmonics) anytime it's close to my guitar amp combo. Depends on location, but basically not usable if in reasonable proximity to the speaker. It looks/sounds like it induces the mains frequency maybe from mains transformer? Or that's my theory. No issue if it's far from the combo for vocal for example. I don't have another dynamic mic to try, but my cheap condenser (bm 700) is dead silent in the same placement near combo. Does anyone experience similar issue with this or other dynamic mics? I have never heard about issue like that (my combo is Ibanez TSA-30, interface Behringer umc204 btw.). Thanks.
Now Behringer need to make a copy of a copy and copy the SE Electronics copy. Copy that, over. A SE GuitarF reflection filter & ribbon microphone at a cheap price would be nice
I am new at this, so my question might sound silly, but would they be good for recording brass instruments? Trumpet/Flugel, trombone and tuba? any particular recommendations for that?
The Berhinger actually sounds and little fuller and brighter to me. A more scooped type of sound. Sounds like the Berhinger is a great deal. I liked the vocal quality of the 57 better though.
Guitar Everyone I was going to write pretty much exactly that, but Guitar Everyone bet me to it! Yeh, Berhinger for electric guitar, Shure for spoken voice.
Just bought two 75’s not got them yet, can the difference corrected with eq?
The 57 was designed for voice specifically so there's that...
I guess I'm quite off topic but does anyone know of a good site to watch new tv shows online ?
@Briar Bodie I watch on FlixZone. Just search on google for it =)
I’m buying it!! The Behringer sounds cleaner than the Shure at the same settings. I’m looking for some mics to start off with so this will work great! Cheers!🎸🎸🎵🎼🎵

Wow after listening to the Behringer, the Shure sounded like it was in a box! It's like the 57 has no presence at all.
Behringer vs SM57 - to be honest I like Behringer much more - seems much more open while SM57 seems have much big mid range bump
Me too, listening back! It's a monster. It's also great for voice over work!
I think you nailed it. It’s a beautiful sounding mic at this price range, or triple this price range!
Behringer KILLS the Shure! More fuller response and better attack! 57 sounded nasally, esp with dist tones, cleans it was much closer! But the 75 still seemed to have a nicer transient response and attack!

Holy crap this is some damn good value! These sound great and for 20 bucks, no brainer! Gonna get a few of these for recording my drums!
The fact that it can sound almost indistinguishable from a Shure SM57 with just a subtractive EQ, makes this the best option for a Home Studio.
Wow, another great mic for those of us on a tight budget. Thanks for these, between this and the last beri you reviewed, that is a whole mini studio set up for under 100!
GREAT....awesome review....by an awesome musician....thank you. Going with two Behringers.......

Thanks for the review. However, it would be great if you could also add links to some local Aussie vendors too please.
Amazing , excellent vidéo tutoriel.

I've had this debate for years and years.
Example. Daughter's favorite singer songwriter plays a 335 type. She was showing me the Firefly for 149 US. I countered with an Epi Dot for few hundred more. Less if she bought used. Reason being that if she didn't like it, the resale would sell quicker and return more of her investment.
I've no problem with Berhinger gear. I've owned many a their small mixers for use as sub boards live. Their D/I boxes were good as well.
Most of this goes back to when I was living close to the bone. Buy the best you can afford. Because when times get really tough and you have to turn your gear into groceries. What'll put more on the table?
Sincerely,
Starving Artist Type Guy
Steer her CLEAR of the Firefly! They aren't really worth it! GO the Epi or a Harley Benton HB35!
@@DMSProduktions I found her a used Epi 339. The smaller body was a more suitable fit for her. Earned 2.5 hero points

Oh my god, I'm blown away by the extra amount of body the Behringer Mic adds in comparison with the sm57. I prefer the Behringer while owning a sm57. That Behringer will be bought soon 😀
First off that green guitar sound incredible. The mic sound really easy to listen to. Pleasant not sharp. As good as sm57.
I like to see Mark Knopfler poster on the wall behind you!
It's interesting how the sl75c sounds brighter than the sm57, I own the Behringer and I'm *very* pleased with the stuff I can get from it. You know, this is the best I've seen a behringer mic do in a comparison video. It holds its own.
The Beringer is now only $20 US as of 8/2/22 here in the US!
I’m in China right now and that Behringer costs 60 USD, which is absolutely insane, considering that it’s probably made right here.
I have a Fame SM57, Made in China for Musicstore, Germany. €22 in Europe.
For a super cheap mic, it does a decent job. I already have a Shure SM57, but with the SL75C costing less than £20, I would consider buying one as a back up.

I kinda prefer the midsy character of the sm57 but the behringer isn't bad at all and it may actually be more transparent.
You should check out the T bone mb75 from thomann too
Are you sure, this didn't go through any EQ process before upload to UA-cam? Some of reviews on UA-cam are talk or even sound different? Sorry just want to be more selective to buy a microphone..
$ 20.00 on the US. That's nuts. Sold!
B&H have them in stock (links in the description)
@@intheblues I'm on it! Thanks!
Pero hombre, que bien tocas la guitarra
Great video thank you. If you were to choose just one mike, to mike up a combo, in a live gig scenario, which would you recommend, The B906 or the SL 75C? I just don't have enough channels on the PA for 2 mikes per amp. Thank you.
They are both really good. It really comes down to the sound you like more. The 75C has more mids and the 906 is a more flat/open sound.
@@intheblues Thank you ... 🙂
Would you rather recommend the Behringer or the Pyle ?
what is your fave mic to use for guitars? out of all cheap to expenssive
Very informative, Thanks!
Which you recommend between this and the b906(for guitar cab)?
I like this one better but the B906 compliments this one as a second mic really well.
Wish should i chose SL 75C or XM8500 ??
Behringer is warmer sounding. I just wish China would stop knocking off brand name products its really disrespectful
Behringer KILLS the Shure! More fuller response and better attack! 57 sounded nasally, esp with dist tones, cleans it was much closer! But the 75 still seemed to have a nicer transient response and attack!
6:35 comparacion distorsión behringer & sm57
7:26 comparación 2
SM57 seems much more balanced, but Behringer is still very good.
Thanks.
Can it be used with harmonica?
Now Behringer need to make a copy of a copy and copy the SE Electronics copy. Copy that, over. A SE GuitarF reflection filter & ribbon microphone at a cheap price would be nice
I don’t have computer. Can i use 75c microphone with iphone 11? (For piano)
For the guitar tones, I actually like the behringer better
I am new at this, so my question might sound silly, but would they be good for recording brass instruments? Trumpet/Flugel, trombone and tuba? any particular recommendations for that?
Can't get the SL 75c here in Spain. It doesn't appear on Amazon ES or UK.
Where did you manage to buy the SL 75C? I can't find it in stock anywhere!
cool
Not gonna lie I never realised how much I disliked the sound of a Shure SM57...
Is there a transformer in the behringer?
SL 75C VS the Pyle mic?
