Another winner Morgan. The way the gold and bronze resin sits in this piece is perfect. I live on the coast in Far North Queensland and I love driftwood. The different forms it takes on and the mystery of it's origin. The texture and how sometimes, it is so light, almost like all that remains is the essence of the wood. Thanks mate, Joel.
The first time I saw this piece of driftwood, I was suspecting it to be some kind of spalted cedar wood. But if that is correct, it is the most beautiful cedar wood I’ve ever seen!
Beautiful piece! Love the use of driftwood and the color selection for the resin. 👏 Growing up in rural Louisiana driftwood is plentiful, and a good source for woodworking projects as it has a lot of character to the wood. Love your work, Cheers my friend! 🍻
A lot of the driftwood I have found is usually cyprus, white oak, maple or fur, as far as I can tell! 😃 But I do find it challenging to determine the wood species after it has aged in water for awhile.
4. You are really a skilled worker, I have watched all your videos. All cutting and trimming operations of the work are presented neatly and beautifully by you. Thank you for sharing this useful video.
Your videos, which thankfully don't have a bunch of talk and have just the right amount of music, are such a great way to relax into the weekend! It's nice to see you "branching" out to using new resin colors. The driftwood seems to have inspired you and the result is absolute perfection. Thank you so much!! - Vee
Very nice piece ( again ) I like the two tones of epoxy, gold and bronze like the Belgian girls in the heptathlon today! Interesting to see you applying the polish with steel wool, but the result was amazing!
Thank you Alan😉👍well seen the Belgian bronze and gold medal girls😉I find that the finish on the float wood is much better by applying the wax with very fine steel wool
This bowl turned out very beautifully. Suggestion: everyone stands wood upright to mold. Why not lay them down, not in the same direction, not straight across, but more like you’re building a nest. All random. Some laying crooked. Some wood warped. Some slightly bowed to fit the roundness of the bowl. Branches, not timber.
Another beautiful piece. As an ignorant person, though, I'm wondering why you "waste" so much wood, resin, time, etc hollowing out pieces like this instead of putting something removable in the middle and building the edges around it?
Deborah🌸When turning on wood you have to accept losing a little material... however you are right it is always possible to optimize the loss but it will be to the detriment of working time
Ahhh! Now I see why you chose Jabota and Ash, they go well with the bronze, and gold Mica Color..Very beautiful bowl !!, Still no idea in species of the driftwood ?.

Love the colors. The resin is just right for the driftwood. Really cool
Jean😉thank you so much for your comment
The feathered edges of the wood, its wide grain, and the blended resin colors are marvelous! Bravo!
Gwynn😉👍thank you
The gold and bronze resin is perfect with the driftwood. Another beautiful piece. Awesome job!
Thank you so much for your comment 👍👍👍
I really like that one! The "mystery" driftwood made an attractive bowl. Excellent job! 👍👏
Lynn🌸🌸thank you ❤️
I really like how the resin sort of feathered into the outer layer of wood. I also love the shape, semi-bowl and semi-hollow form!

It is white oak but because it has spent time in salt water then dried then resoaked for a very long time it has a unique coloring😉👍
That is a beautiful piece! Very well done!

That is lovely..... I only live ten mins walk from the coast with a fair bit of driftwood laying around🤔

The metallic pigments from let's resine are very good and go well with driftwood😊

Hey Morgan would you make your 3d printed bowl mold available to download some where?
looks amazing btw
yes it is planned😉
This bowl turned out very beautifully.

yes we can also position the driftwood horizontally but the effect will not be the same😉👍
Will you do this so we can see it?
looks great!
Lynda😊🌸
Gorgeous! ❤
Beverlym 😉
Oak, my guess is white oak … but I suppose it could one of the many red oak varieties too. Nice work per usual!
Jack
good answer👍👍👍it’s white oak
Beautiful as always but ... I think I'd liked to have seen the drift wood on the bottom x
Tina🌸next time I’ll make it entirely out of driftwood😉
Beautiful looks kinda art deco🙏🙏
Dianne🌸
Now that's an interesting step applying the wax with the steel wool. Do you find it applies better than using cotton balls or cloth?
yes I think the result is more uniform 😉👍
As always sir very beautiful work have a great day ✌️
