Shame there are a lack of, or no programs for fathers. People often want to help but never get to the root of the problem. Many males don't know what a real man looks like. It's important for men to be taught this ... By another man. Great video.
Great work Brandon! Excellent demeanour and rapport with the audience. Saying that I am 'proud' sounds way too obnoxious, so, I am going to say that you're work is inspiring and helpful to others. Especially your wife, mother and your sons. The BDC is a great team!
This video hits home. I could remember going through my divorce and custody battle, I quickly learned about the little resources available for fathers, especially, if you where not financially stable. Thank god for my will power to do whatever it takes to remain closer to my children uninterrupted. The reality is, not to many fathers stories are gonna end like man. Its important for us to keep working towards equality for fathers.
Thank you so much for sharing this message! Dads are so important, but completely neglected and left behind. We need lore awesome dads like you to break the cycle and step up! Respect!👊
Awesome, Brandon. I just listened to your talk. So inspiring what you are doing. I also have three sons, as you do. What a privilege and honor. I'm not a black daddy, but I've worked with many of them (six years working in prisons). I love what you are doing, as a dad, and a leader of dads. My best to you and your good work.
I am Black and I grew up in a two parent family having both a mother and a father. I need to say this to shatter the myth that "most" blacks come from one parent families. There are many two parent black families all around and if you don't know of any perhaps it's because you don't know any black people. Let me direct your attention to some high profile two parent black families you may have overlooked: President Obama and Michelle, Jay-Z and Bey, Colin Powell, Denzel, Bill Cosby, etc.
Statistically black families have a greater absence of fathers. I don't think clubs should be exclusionary by race however I understand the urgent need for encouragement for black fathers. A black daddies club is better than no black daddies club.
Oh and also, the challenges facing back men in America are different to the ones facing white men. You are a white man in a white male dominated society - the general issues that fathers face are obviously common across all races, but the challenges facing black men are different and require specific solutions.
This fatherhood club would have been stronger if you include white fathers and Latino, Asian and other cultures because fatherhood is a problem to our society in general.
Declan Duke this was the only one I found for us. Must all videos be about you? I was looking for something similar to my life. I needed a specific viewpoint. I also get tired of y'all always needing the spotlight. Back off.
This Is TheWatch dafuq, calm down dude. You’re not the only dads struggling a lot... why should those groups be split? It doesn’t matter where you’re from, everyone just wants to be a good dad, can face the same problems as any other dad and needs some help...
I really don't understand why it's hard for white people to get this. It's really simple. We have black history month because every other month is white history month. We have BET (which is unfortunately not that great), because WET already exists - it's called mainstream T.V. We have organisations targeting specific needs in our community because we are a marginalised and often overlooked group of people. It's so frustrating that white privilege is so extensive that I have to answer this,
