The manual has the 12pt bolts torque at 76 ft lbs including the 2 center bearing bolts but the u-joint clamp bolts at 26 ft lbs. If reusing bolts, threadlock even though says to replace all bolts and u-joint clamps.
Ron, I have on 08' F150 and the bearing is bad. They're telling me I need to buy the entire shaft. Its once piece. Where did you get the bearing at? SHaft is $600. Trying to get but with only the bearing. Someone has got to have figured out a way only replace the bearing. I cannot believe that that piece cannot be replaced.
@@jachoftrades6t8 I have a vibration at 45 to 55 or so. I took the rear wheels off and same thing. Got under and my carrier had about ad much play as yours. (Not much) It looked ok too. Did this replacement fix your problem?
Rene H it wasn't easy to get it off. It took everything the impact had to get it off. If you have a good vise and a breaker bar that should work too. Good luck.
Good to see Jack from The Shining is doing well these days.
Love this how to video. Thanks for keeping it real while explaining your process I absolutely loved it.
Thanks for the comment and for watching. I was thinking that the video might be helpful to someone.
Remember to mark a center line on shaft or it won’t be balanced.

Mines got a wobble at about 85km/h. Thought it might be the driveshaft bearing cause it doesn’t do it at same rpm in other gears.
What size barring do u remember
What size socket did you need and what size was the pvc pipe?
33mm socket and 1.5in PVC

Wish I could help you with that. I think I got the part at my local parts store. That does sound crazy that you can't just get the bearing. Good luck

If you have to replace the carrier bearing, might as well replace your u-joints while you have it all apart.
Did it take care of you vibration problem?
No, it didn't. I think it turned out to be the rotors tgat needed to be turned
Did it vibrate when accelerating?. Mine does that. Trying to figure out what it is
@@ricardonava4783 find out what it was?
@@mikeevans6727 pinion bearing if under acceleration
@@jachoftrades6t8 really? A brake rotor?
At 5:51 you had to remove that big ass nut to continue ??? That’s where I’m at right now.

Rene H size of the nut?
It was a 33. I bought the socket took it and the whole driveshaft to a local tire shop and they removed it for $5
Didn't look bad to me.. The rubber bush was intact...
