Nice reference to Fry and Laurie sketch there!!
Seriously though, the BBC are now widely and quite correctly regarded as total c*nts so you should really apologise to fry and laurie for associating 21st century BBC with any previous works, which had talent and/or originality.

No Thank you - pretty much, in comedy recordings they would use a live audience... this clip would have been played in an auditorium and a sound crew would record their reaction... Canned laughter was not good enough back then to add without it sounding false.

Only reason I watched House M.D. was because I wondered how Hugh could possibly play a "serious" american doctor (I'd only ever known him as a comedy actor). He played it extremely well and his comedy acting experience is what really helps make House a likable character even though he's a complete ass.

@@SpaceCattttt Individual memories differ. I think of the 80s as multicoloured/patterns, big hair and perms, loud makeup, and shoulder pads.

Now we see screens all the time, bright back lights and off course HD. In the environment its like a massive fast food place, with glass and steel everywhere. The hair is gone so baldy's everywhere shine, its very cold, speeded up and all about the money.
