Great info. I'm in The Bahamas and i order from Candle Science & Amazon and getting my supplies shipped the cost is crazy. But i'm finding ways to get things done much cheaper so i can give my customers the best price possible.
Absolutely!! I usually do (COGS x 4) + (10-20%) to account for additional costs! They was more of just a look into the actual material costs but I totally should have mentioned that in the video!
Awesome, as always, Erica! I truly struggle learning about COGs, and I have started to ask questions because, on my own, I am getting nowhere. This is right on time. Thank you!
@@MemoryBoxCandleCo It does help! haha I've heard manufacturers won't sell to non-supply companies. Do you just have a good manufacturer or do you think because of your proximity they were willing to sell a pallet? I'm also in Canada...so add on that $$ 😂
When I looked recently, I feel like they had two different clear jars this size? Is the difference in the thread? Which do you like better from Filmore?
Here’s my referral link to Inventora if you need an inventory system:

@@maybellgreen I just checked with Dianna (the creator) and she said yes! You can change the currency in the settings :)
Thank you, thank you, thank you for this!! I am a numbers person and having an existing biz all of this makes perfect (SCENTS) 😂😂

What about labor cost? Overhead? Super important to include those in COGS to truly understand the all-in costs to make a finished candle 💯

This was very informative. Thank you!
You’re very welcome! Thank you for watching :)
Berlin Packaging & ULINE are good for these jars too!
I LOVE Inventora! So So So much easier than a spreadsheet!
Yes absolutely!! Couldn’t run our business without it!

I’m so glad! Inventora really does make COGS so much easier!
do you calculate your shipping products?
Great information. Thank you!
Thank you
What size labels do you use for the 13.5 oz cali jars? ❤
2.5 x 3” :)
How do you know when to double-wick a candle jar?
Does anyone know a good & affordable fragrance oil website for the EU? It's really expensive here in The Netherlands...
Do you have candle math ex. In you EBook?
I don’t because it’s actually about the business side of things instead of the candle making side ❤️
Fillmore is the way to go if anyone is interested in these.
.87 for wax?! I chose the wrong wax 😅😅
If it helps, we buy by the pallet and don’t have to pay for shipping because the manufacturer of the wax is so close to us 😅

@@MemoryBoxCandleCoHow many boxes are on a pallet? Are they the 45 pound boxes? Thanks!
Fillmore is way way cheaper
Good to know, I’ll do a shipping estimate with them to see!

@@hilaryquinn8673 I have the 9oz straight sided amber jar.
@hilaryquinn8673 the 70/400 thread is what you'll need.
I love CandleScience. Their shipping is the cheapest for me actually.
Me too! 😅 I think it depends on where you live!
@@MemoryBoxCandleCo absolutely! I'm close to their Nevada warehouse 😍
