Seeing this takes me back, when we switched schools when I was a kid, we still had quite a few International Blue Birds on routes, they were mid 80s, with the DT466 and stick, 66 passenger with air brakes, last year our buses got sticks I believe was 1988, one day our TC2000 went down as we were leaving school, we had one of those stick buses left as a backup, I believe that was the last time it went out on route before they retired it, I was when I was in third grade, so 2000 or 2001
Would have been better if it was Air Brakes. Not sure why, but those half drivers seats (where the back goes halfway up your back) causes so much pain. I noticed BB, Thomas and Amtran all had them before going to a full back. Was never a fan of the “Pull” switches that B.B. had. But excellent Bus.
Yayyyy yayyyy thats so very great And i AM so very much Glad to hear about that from you sir And thats not i lie at all And thats all that i AM going to be saying to you guys for now.!'
Commercial vehicles are pretty cool, my personal favorite bus are the IC busses, last year I went on a field trip to a college that’s was a full day trip and it was three hours to and back and I got uncomfortable after a while, but I realized that buss seats aren’t meant to be super comfortable.
the later S series will have the navistar logo as the older ones will say International on the top of the grille as the bus Jay Smart is selling that bus is an example of that. the bus he is selling is a 1985 International S1800 9 liter diesel v8 Allison At545 and Thomas body as it still has the old mechanical motorized Baader Brown flasher in it and the Baader Brown warning light start lever. the label on that bus says International Harvester Chicago Illinois.
Shea Mileto The bus was used to transport members on trips and excursions, it was also used as a regular route bus transporting children to and from the church / school. That bus ran its last bus route the day before I picked it up. 👍
I remember in grade school it was my 6th grade year was the year my bus driver was given a brand new bus.. a 1978 Chevy with a Ward body and we were one of the first school buses in the district to have the jack knife service door. my driver she did not care for the jack knife as its heavier when pull the handle and or push the handle to shut the door.. she wanted her old in out style we had on previous bus and another thing she did not like was the high back seats made it hard to see little kids like kindergarteners as the set back went up to just under the top half the side windows
Wow man you must be a real fan of these old old models mostly international and bluebird but guess what I have the same taste for these kinda buses its really good to know that I'm not the only one who has the taste in these. Also is there a really good website or actual place where I can find buses like these cause I have a future of driving these even tho I'm 11 but please respond.
they don’t allow American vehicles outside of the US and Canada, and they never made this model in China, you’d have to find a Blue Bird bus that was made in China which I’d imagine would be incredibly hard to find if your looking for one from before the late 90s/early 2000s era.
@@beatsmiscs1200 No dude I’m talking about it’s possible to get this bus S800 Internacional Blue bird or Thomas build in United State or Canada . I never talked about china I just said Greetings of china it’s mean Hello from china because I’m in china but I never said I can get it in china I know it I mean in US and Canada .
First, thanks for the great videos. My son (4yrs) loves your videos & can tell me about all of your buses. But I couldn't help but notice that you appeared to be operating the camera while you were driving in the interstate! Very bad & dangerous idea, I hope you don't do that again! All it takes is a tiny pothole or someone else swerving because they're not paying attention, and it's not just your own life at stake. I just felt compelled to comment on this and say please be more careful in the future! On the plus side, I was able to use your video as a teaching moment with my son.
Kristine Willis I'm glad you and your son enjoy my videos. I appreciate your comment about safety and please know that safety is always my top priority. I use a one touch go pro camera for capturing video so I don't have to look at the camera or viewfinder to operate it. I will use care in future videos. Thank you.
Tommy Retro, I'm sorry I stole your video. I shouldn't took it without asking. It's was my mistake. We just need to be a little bit more careful on the videos. Ok?

DTA 360 is almost bullet proof! We had one in our bus fleet. Jewel of a bus right there!
Would have been better if it was Air Brakes.

Jackknife doors were common in Blue Bird and Wayne school buses for many years! Thomas school buses, however, preferred swing-out doors!
I see you have a seatbelt cutter which of course is a good tool to have. Thank you for sharing, been enjoying your videos recently.

Around here it’s almost impossible to find a stick shift diesel or gas bus unless they’re in terrible shape.
WOW that's awesome dude.!'
I love that white and cobalt blue
I know this bus and it was NEVER kept inside! I lived 3 houses down from that church!!

Derek Obidowski I watched Jay Smart's video! That is a very nice bus!!! I'd like to have an IH with a 9.0 liter!
Tommy Retro What Was This Bus Used For When The Church Was Still Using It?

What a beauty!

Nice bus.
Would it be hard to put the 8 ways and stop arm back on the bus
BusDriver11 I don't think it would be hard, just need to find a set of 8 ways and a stop arm off a Bluebird....
So do you plan on making it into a school bus again
Same❤
What are you gonna' do with it?
