You sir, play beatifully. Great demo, it makes me smile every moment I hear the different tones that this guitar has to offer and gives me more thought to create many styles and sounds. Can't wait to get myself one someday
I have one of these babies. However, mine is 21 years old and out performs my Les Paul. If ya own one, you'll only put it down because your just tired. Excellent is an incomplete description. Amazing even falls short. Played through a Hi-Gain amp is nothing more than Ear Candy. Just an absolute pleasure and experience to play.
Truly fantastic playing and review! I bought the same guitar in satin cherry burst. Sounds really great. Oddly sounds very similar to my gibson Les Paul with bb pros...but a little warmer tone... and playability significant better. I have prs se 245 custom and American standard strat too... and I think I like the CE best. People say it's brighter than the core... Which is a great thing in my opinion. My Gibson sounds even brighter than my CE... I wouldn't want my guitar to sounds less bright than it already does. It also had plenty of low end... Don't need more...or see that I'm missing anything by but buying core... except for deaper carve on top. Some people say the older ce is better because of the carve. However, the old one has crappy pickups, crappy tuners, wierd switching, and is plastic finish versus nitro... nitro arguably helps instrument resonate more. So, I don't think the old one is better. Again, this one sounds and plays epic. Tuning stability and intonation on my ce is better than all of my other guitars... even with Korean bridge. Adding to my comments from two months ago... I just bought a core 24 also... and honestly the CE sounds just as good but had different sound... it's much brighter and put punchy... and has more clarity... which is more strat like than my core. My core is much bassier sounding and has a fulness to it. Core sounds better for delay and slide guitar and the core better for clean picking and poppy country like stuff. Both two of best guitars ever made. If I had just one... not sure. I live the CE tone so much and cuts through mix better... but sometimes I need the added warm bass tone of the core... Which is why I bought both...
@@Chonism I just sold my ce... not because it wasn't amazing in every way but because I have a core 24 too... and they sounded so much alike I didn't need both. I think I prefer the sound of the core... but the ce is outstanding too...was a bit torn to sell my ce...
Thanks so much for this review. I'm leaning hard towards getting a CE and for all the reasons you mentioned. I'm over a year from having to narrow that pic down. The maple neck, neck profile and slim body with a tummy cut is what I grew up with. It is the most super-strat or Ibanez RG you can get while still being an authentic PRS. Fantastic playing, btw. You go from jazz chords to metal chug. Very well done review
Tom could play 6 shoe strings on a plank of wood and still sound so fuckin brilliant. I have loads of his tutorial dvds and he always amazes me with his astounding playing..peace
Holy crap I cant help but notice this guy is amazing on guitar! I want lessons from this dude, lol. Ill pay money Tom Quayle. Wasnt this guy teaching for licklibrary?
I just don't get why PRS don't always install two push-pull to split each pickup individually... it makes more sense, offers more sounds and doesn't cost much!
It's possible to wire any multi-pickup guitar to a rediculous amount of configurations. You would very quickly reach a point where there's a trade-off between the amount of options and the amount of thought that you have to put into switching between them - more is not always better (AKA Less is More :P). At least that's my conclussion after owning a Ibanez Artist with 2 tri-sound switches.
lordgraga This is the setup I used on the Custom 24 and that I also have on the Brent Mason (with toggle switch instead of push-pull), and it's perfectly fine to use. There's absolutely nothing complicated to have a switch per pickup to have it in full humbucker or tapped/splitted... this is not rocket science and over-complicated setup. If most fifth graders can get it, I think most of guitarists will get it too (I know, I'm quite optimist here... but still).
I’m a recent PRS convert after 25 years of Fender. I like Paul’s vision and passion, BUT it’s a “low rent” move to put Korean hardware on an American guitar at the CE price point. We’re talking a bridge, right? I own a Korean SE roasted maple neck so I have zero problems with imports. Put the American hardware on your American set neck and bolt on guitars, Paul. Do whatever you want with the other models. 🇺🇸🗽🦅🇺🇸
I tested one of those and a custom 24 and just did not feel the CE. On top of all that it does not come with a hard case I believe. The custom 24 was ok but such a thin body it felt like a toy. I went for a DGT finally arriving tomorrow. Cannot wait.
I want to play guitar in that style. I know some basic theory, but I just play pentatonics, and the major scale, and natural minor scale. Need to move beyond that already. Even if I could play more of a blues/fusion style, would be cool! Anyways those guitars are sweet! Im looking for another PRS,an these are sweet. Oops Im referring to the opening guitar licks and chords. I forgot to put that in
Hi Avisek - that's because all my guitars are displayed at trade shows before they get to me. The Gloss is to make sure they impress on the show floor.
sidhanth gupta my PRS SE 24 came with D'Addario 9-46. Awesome strings for rock/blues lead but for music with less bending or just plain chords I'd want to use 10s or 11s.
Is this a review or a commercial. Everything's superb, amazing, fantastic?? I realize you're a dealer but not not one negative point or something you don't like??? Hardly enough objective info to make a buying choice. But a good ad.
These are great; the only thing I don't like abt them is the tops aren't as heavily carved / figured as the CU24's....I'm not sure why they would change it...The older CE24's had the same super killer carved top as the CU24's.
I realize that, but the carved tops are all done via CNC...IT doesn't really cost PRS any more money to do it. Maybe 5$ more in electricity costs to run the machine.
Hey, late answer but anyway, it’s less curved because the maple top is thiner, which is necessary in order to keep the tone well balanced : since the neck is already in maple, their needs to be more mahogany in the body if you want to keep the classic PRS tone, therefore the maple top is thiner. Hope that makes sense ;)
These use the same bridges as the SE models!? Holy moly...I did NOT know that! Not a good thing IMHO...They're not discounted that much compared to the CU24s!!
I'm soooooo fucking jealous of this guy's playing.
'Thought the same ! LES
Yeah. Same.
these are wicked.
PRS needs to continue on with Satin finishes, they are gorgeous.
i agree
Instablaster.
"...this neck is satin finish and it's smooth as..." - was expecting him to say it was smooth AF haha
I like how he shows the back of the guitar...So many people review guitars and don't show the backs / necks.
The greatest player. Crazy chops but always BEAUTIFUL lines and chord voicings.
This man can play SERIOUS!
holy shit great playing Tom
Finally they brought these back. The old ones are a steal.
You sir, play beatifully. Great demo, it makes me smile every moment I hear the different tones that this guitar has to offer and gives me more thought to create many styles and sounds. Can't wait to get myself one someday
one of the best players on youtube....insane!
great playing and great guitar . outstanding bridge and tuning stability ❤
Tom is an outstanding and versatile player!! Top, top notch
Super skilful and a great demonstration of the guitars capabilities
this is a really good review. I like this guy.

His grooves are awesome.
Amazing sound and amazing playing!!! The Clean sounds were impressing!

Gobsmacked re playing skilz...PRS fab.
Oh wow! Love that guitar. I have one PRS. My next guitar is probably gonna be something like that. Love the color too.
Tom could play 6 shoe strings on a plank of wood and still sound so fuckin brilliant. I have loads of his tutorial dvds and he always amazes me with his astounding playing..peace
What a beautiful guitar
What a beautiful guitar!
Very jazzy and melodic. 🤙🏼
Be nice to get Tom to demo a selection or guitars and amps at the Salt and Liquor one evening.
Man that sounds so good
Forget the guitar, you are an amazing player.
This guy plays awesome!
Holy crap I cant help but notice this guy is amazing on guitar! I want lessons from this dude, lol. Ill pay money Tom Quayle. Wasnt this guy teaching for licklibrary?

Tom do you do pvt lessons at all?
Any chance there will be all one piece replacement necks coming soon?
Like CE this version.( Black head stock)

This or a Fender American Professional for music college?
@Whispering Loudly, which did you end up with ?

Tom, do you come from jazz ??? LES greets from Berlin ...
CE 24's have the Pattern Thin neck
As versatile as this guitar is, I'm curious how well it will handle a higher gain amp like the mega triple crown.
I like your playing.. can u share yr reference
yeah he says he prefers satin tops to the glossed tops but all his signature guitars are Glossed
Hi Avisek - that's because all my guitars are displayed at trade shows before they get to me. The Gloss is to make sure they impress on the show floor.
Tom Quayle sorry to bother you Tom .. just joking
dude you r a GREAT PLAYER!;-)
Silly question : is it veneer or plain maple top ..?
Not a veneer
The guitar is incredible, but man! This dude can PLAY.
Does he use fingers for picking?
man which guitar picks go best with prs.. and strings which is used by prs ?
And I guess I heard that prs strings are made by daddario
I use Elixir Nanowebs on my PRS SE Custom 24. Love 'em. I want one of these CE24s....
sidhanth gupta my PRS SE 24 came with D'Addario 9-46. Awesome strings for rock/blues lead but for music with less bending or just plain chords I'd want to use 10s or 11s.
What amp?
How much.?
This guitar is tuned differently for sure
which Amp is used in this Video?
Nicola Mazzotti Victory V40 :)
うますぎだろ

surgeyX they hand sand the curve top near the edge. Takes more time and adds to the cost.
There's no reason to do that. As I said, all carved tops can be done via CNC.

トム兄さんが弾いたら何でも良い音する説。
プレテク弾いても一緒やで。
If you put strings on a banana, Tom will make it sound awesome.
you'd still have to adjust the relief on the banana
でも・・再発のCEは限りなくSEっぽい、って事は分かるね。
NOT KOREON, ALL USA
Lighting is very in these videos, can't even see the guitar properly.
Aroma ximor075 I can.
all NEW CE'S have 85/15 so, stop saying that like yours are special
Only 150 of these colors made that's why they are unique...
It's the color
