I've just been allowing it to lock. It really locks this fast if you know what you're doing. It is important to have clean and dry hair.
@@JasonPhillip303 I have his same hair type and had freeform dreads from just not brushing my hair throughout in like 3 days after wetting then air drying my hair and not adding product.. that was just me being on the go and to busy to style and me not even aiming to get dreads.. I brushed them out but that's what set me on my dreadlock journey and I got mine done.. but needless you say is our hair type tangles fastly.. especially with the help of water with no effort.

You should try salt water spray for ur locs. It’ll help the frizz calm down
Looking good, but you should really grow out that double hairline. It'll look bad for a little while, but you can just crochet it into your dreads when it's long enough. It would drastically improve your look.

With your hair texture do use oil when your scalp feels dry? My hair texture is very similar to yours. Black Castrol thickened my hair but also made it straight in some areas.

I have straight hair freeform and I typically do once a week. Even at the very beginning. 6 1/2 months in and they're coming together well

Been growing my hair out officially for a year today but havent really thought about getting free form dreads up until last month. I don’t know if my hair is too loose to get freeform locks I’d say I have a 3A or B curl pattern. What do you think I should do?
I have absolutely no curl or wave so I'm a type 1A. Going with the [semi] freeform method. Started the journey with 8 months of hair growth from a buzzed head. I towel rubbed for the first two months just to give my hair more of a head start with the friction needed. Stopped doing that at the 2 month mark, letting it fully freeform, and now 6 1/2 months in.
Definitely go for it! The sooner you start the sooner you'll have locs. All hair is capable of it with or without helping it out.
