Hi Adrian, I bought two of your books and they helped me a lot to understand things I was missing that I had not been taught neither in design college nor in the courses I took. Thanks to this and doing the specific Google UX course and keep insisting, I finally managed to pass a selection process and I have been selected as a Junior UX/UI designer. It has been a hard and very frustrating time until I reached break into the industry because while I was applying to job offers I had to accept a full time job that I didn't like, to be able to pay my rent. I received a lot of rejections at first, but in the end I made it and I am very happy now. So thank you for sharing all your knowledge, it helped me a lot🎉🙂 And it will surely also help others who are in the same situation.
Hey Sara! Thank you so much for saying that, I really appreciate it 🙏🏼 And I'm really glad you found value in my ebooks. There's nothing more satisfying to hear than when your "students" find success in life. I'm happy to be a part of your journey. All the best in your new career, and welcome to the industry! ❤
@sarapachontorre6926 i really wanted that but i cant ask my parent for that because they are paying my uni fee so would you like to share book or just tips anything you like ?
I am learning UX/UI and Figma at this moment. This video is pure gold and this will be the method that I will be using to practice web and mobile design. Thanks a ton for the value.
Great Video Adrian! I'm making an official transition from front-end developer to UX/UI in the next few months and these videos are really helping me! Would love to see you touch base on typography and spacing!
You're always good brother... I was waiting so long to see you on UA-cam as we have little chit chat over Instagram for UA-cam and you sa said coming very soon... Ah you are here. Lovely to see you here. Nd more power to you... ❤
Hi Adrian. I would need your advice please :) I finally became good at copying good designs , but I fail when it comes to develop my own design style. Do you have any advice on how should I develop my own design style? Thank you for your videos.
4:00 won't resizing to fit change element's proportions? 428px screen elements have the same size as in 375px. They will just adapt to it wide. Height will be the same. But when we do resizing to fit it will change everything
It will, yes, if the app is not using scalable font sizes. I always found the element's proportions (text especially) too big for smaller frames. With AirBnb for example, if you use their Title 3 font on an iPhone Mini the text size is 21pts, if you scale the screenshot down from 428px to 375px along with all elements, the heading 2 font size will be 18 pts. I'll address this in the follow up video. Thanks for pointing that out!
You & your beautiful wife are doing a great job Adrian, after learning from Flux Academy, Pait academy (SEO) the one thing was missing is Figma and now you have filled the gap very well. Thank you, looking forward to learning more from you. Also, it would be great if you can start a mini course on UA-cam, sharing your complete business story in detail and how we can grow our business as a designer.
can u PLEASE do a video tutorial on apple's HIG or android design system exclusively? i cannot find this shit anywhere on youtube lol and u teach it so well .i want an end to end mobile app using either HIG or Google design system pls. and talk about how you handover your project to devs.
I appreciate your efforts. That's awesome. But you should add one thing " Link". Because it will help the viewer very much. Hopefully, in future videos, you will add the Link (if it has).
Developers- If I make a UA-cam video it should be cinematic, B-roll, lighting n all that jazz Designers- at 1:20 I should keep me chair in focus (foreground) than myself. 😂😂😂 Glory to Adrian
Thanks for the feedback! To everyone else reading this - as a hiring design lead with 8 years of experience I can confirm that everyone should! There are huge gaps in the understanding of good design principles and learning from pure theory doesn’t work.
@@uiadrian To everyone else reading this - as a hiring 3D generalist, designer and developer with 15 years of experience I can confirm that everyone shouldn't ! Understanding design and doing design are two totally different things. Copying others allows us to see but not to do! We are not talking about creating new trends or even getting an Awwward but simply making a design that works. Theory is not enough, but copying others without knowing what a visual hierarchy is and how it is created is a monumental waste of time. When I have a job interview with a candidate, I don't look at his diplomas but at what he knows and understands about design.
@@我的暱稱 I think you missed the point here. I'm not saying anywhere this is the ONLY way to learn design. Greatest artists in the history of our modern world learned by copying others before going out and doing something by themselves. I meant that it's supplemental knowledge to your theory learnings. You can read all you want about white space and color theory, but it won't mean anything without practice. And how can you practice without any references? It's just a huge waste of time. Learn from the best, and when you're ready, design on your own. I agree with the last sentence, though. I even posted a Twitter thread a few days ago about this very statement. This is my advice, and I will always recommend it with all my heart since this approach let me work with billion-dollar companies and save me years of progress to get to where I'm now. If you disagree, create your own content and preach your learnings to your own audience. I won't reply to the next message; sorry, I'm a busy individual! Cheers!

I liked how you were about to click on discord then decide not to. It's a mess 😅 0:30
best video bro
Thanks Tobe! 🙏🏼
Very good video for people starting in design! I liked recreating part and Dribble being fake design. It looks unrealistic. Like porn of design 😄
Haha that's an interesting analogy! 😂
Small suggestion sir! The voice has a bit of echo in it! Making it a bit noisy to hear! Do fix it if possible!
I know! My mic was set up in the wrong way, and I kind of fixed it in the new video. Next one should be optimized the right way. Thanks!
Gumroad links are not working :(
Sorry about that, just fixed it! And thank you for pointing that out 🙏🏼
No one should learn design from this "technic".
