Great vid. It doesn't seem like you mentioned it, but related to the Trojan Horse part, you mentioned someone named "Nobody". In the Odyssey, Odysseus (the Trojan Horse was his idea), called himself "Nobody" or "No man" to trick a Cyclops into yelling "Nobody is hurting me!" when he was being blinded by Odysseus.

First, to quote a radio demon "What a performance."
Second, it was a honor to help with that iceberg and we're glad more information about the Battle Network series is now available more easily to new fans of the series (especially with a certain Collection of its legacy coming out very soon).

Bass honestly can rebuild himself, his memory gets more corrupted as time goes on in more ways then one, after devouring bugfrags after being in alpha in order to survive, to literally being at the heart of darkness so much that the chaos lord can use his form/fill in for him, not to mention the hyper corrupted bass XX.
By the time we get to 6 in the graveyard he literally repeats the same lines and lan/navis seem to just sorta accept this as 'this is what he does now' when refought.
Mans needs a reboot or a deep cleaning, give this man a defrag PLEASE his existence is as sentient as a mettaur at this point in all things except tryhard fighting.

    theory:
after Bass get destroyed by Alpha, he "reincarnate" into all of the bassclones. his dataghost at first gets stuck into the bugfrag machine, and after his defeat he moves around the net, absorbing the clones instead of destroying them. he has the GET ability, so he basically hijack the clone body
after his inevitable run-in with the darklord, he regenerates into the one GS that is fought in DoubleTeam with the crossunision and from there the one in the graveyard that does the thing with the beast

At 4:07 you said that Baryl died but at the end of the season he sent a message to Lan in real time when he was supposed to be dead
But I just checked the episode and Famous said that it was a message from the past tunnel which means that Baryl was still in the past and he's talking to Lan from the past
So Duo took Baryl back 20 years when he originally left and Baryl then used what was left of the past tunnel to contact Lan and his friends one last time
    Atleast from what i understood
The exact quote from Famous was "Hakase! Incoming Transmissions from the Past Tunnel!" And then Baryl's message appeared

About the serenade/mamoru thing, at least during the main game i always viewed it as serenade technically being Mamoru's navi (likely a gift from his dad) but mainly operating on his own, with the rare contact between them being handled by Tamako since neither could really be displaced for a long time while Mamoru was in the hospital.

There are so many characters and unused arcs/stories that can be told. For instance the bug rise character that is only depicted in 2 chips in the games. There's so much more content, and this makes me crave a desire to have additional games added to this IP. There can easily be BN7, BN8, and BN9 made, at the least! It would be INSANE to have a Capcom arc where they do this and these become major game titles again. Mind-blowing 🤯 to me. The lore is crazy

I just realized, if Megaman Junior was made with the best parts of Megaman and Roll, and Megaman is Lan's brother, Hub, then that would mean that Megaman Jr and Patch are cousins.
And the "all versions are canon" makes sense, if you consider the BN series (and Star Force, by extension) different time lines. ( and that would hopefully make Shanghai.EXE to be canon)

15:26 I think it's worth noting that we actually know the exact point of variance: Dr. Light (Tadashi Hikari) invents Net Navis while Wily's advanced robot idea got rejected. In the main timeline, Dr. Light invented the advanced robots alongside Dr. Wily. The copyroids are actually a result of Wily's foiled ambitions, combining the two concepts. It's also worth noting that Wily's ambitions being thwarted in favor of SciLab focusing on Net Navi research is what caused his descent into villainy in the first place while in the main series, it was a result of the Double Gear system research getting shut down, as well as Dr. Light getting more recognition for their research. In most adaptations, including Powered Up, it was the result of Dr. Light getting more recognition for their research, with a fan film even showing Wily dabbled in AI research as he had a personal assistant, a reverse of the Battle Network series, though it seemed to mostly just be a side hobby.

An additional note about Digimon Tamers, even in the season of the Digimon anime that Takato and Guilmon is from, there's several implications and mentions of Digimon Adventure and 02, being a franchise within their own universe. Stuff like, the Digimon card game existing, as actual Digimon cards from our real world, appear in that season, specifically, the Japanese version of the card game, shown by the back side of the cards and roughly the size of the cards, and in a way, the card graphics too, more clearly is implied due to those factors. Furthermore, at least in the dub, the anime makes references of the first two seasons. Stuff like Takato referencing 02 with when one of the Digimon that in Tamers, that runs one of the 4 Digimon that runs the 4 compass directions of the Digital World that returns from 02. Takato says something about them while implying a "show" (I'm guessing they didn't use the word anime, incase kid viewers don't know what that is) that he saw that Digimon from. One of Takato's friends also references the 02 anime, using the name of one of the characters from 02 as a means to passively mock Takato. Though, because I have yet to watch the entirety of the Tamers anime in Japanese, I don't know if those references in dialog are also in the Japanese version, or if they were inserted in for the purpose of the dub, similar to a good chunk of the Ash and Misty shipping dialog in the Pokemon anime being written solely for the dub. Furthermore, it's implied the two universes of Digimon's anime canons have connections not just to one another, but also the games. In 02, Ken has a bad dream about when he fought alongside Ryo Akiyama to fight off against Milleniummon's plans, a Digimon that first appeared in the Wonderswan Digimon games, where Ryo Akiyama is the main protagonist of. Ken has a bad dream of when he took the brunt of the enemy Digimon's attack in place of Ryo getting hit by it, and it's believed that is why he became the Digimon Emperor in 02, as Milleniummon may have been influencing Ken to recreate another Milleniummon in the Adventure and 02 Digimon universe, hence why he created Kimeramon, a Digimon that is one half of the Jogress Evolution to make Milleniummon, the other half being Machinedramon. That moment from when Ken took the brunt of an attack targeting Ryo, I believe was present in one of the Wonderswan Digimon games. Ryo would once again appear in later episodes of the Digimon Tamers anime, and is stated to have disappeared for a very long time. Implying he got sucked into the Digital World of Adventure and 02 even in the anime's canon. Furthermore, in Tamers, Ryo has the same Digimon partner he had in one of the Digimon Wonderswan games, that sacrificed itself to seal Milleniummon within himself. Doing so killed that Digimon belonging to Ryo, reverting it back into egg form. And if anyone reading this huge block of text is wondering why Ryo did not stick around in the Adventure and 02 Digimon canon, it's because the chosen children (Digidestined in the anime dub) from Adventure, treated him like garbage, and Ken was the only one who treated him kindly, as seen from Ken in 02's bad dream of taking the brunt of an attack targeting Ryo, sacrificing himself for the sake of his friend. That shows just how strong their bonds are in friendship. To the point Ken risked getting killed, to save his friend. Also, in Tamers, Ryo's Digimon partner when the viewers and Tamers first sees his Digimon partner, its extremely violent, implying it's struggling to keep in check the Milleniummon sealed within itself. Also, reason Milleniummon was trying so hard to claim Ryo, it's because, like Agumon is to Taichi (shortened to Tai in the dub), Milleniummon is Ryo's fated Digimon partner, but unlike Agumon, Milleniummon is an extremely evil Digimon, capable of manipulating the events in time, as it's capable of manipulating the fabric of time, as in the beginning of the Wonderswan Digimon games' story, it reverted the flow of time, back to before the chosen children first met their Digimon partners, possibly as a means of trying to prevent them from having access to power that could stop him. Because Milleniummon is Ryo's fated Digimon partner, Ryo was not allowed to form a bond of friendship with that Digimon.

One of the most obscure Megaman Battle Network facts I know is its plot relevance to a romance light novel (Are you Okay with a Slightly Older Girlfriend). I think it was changed in the manga version because of copyright issues, but in the original version, a high schooler plays Megaman Battle Network 1 because the female romantic interest namedrops it while complaining about the overwhelming age gap between them. And yes, playing that game did help him romance her.

About Bass, I think the devs were set to end the series with BN3 so they went and gave Bass a role in the story as well as an origin.
But then Capcom reeled them back in and said "moar BN", the team now had no idea what to do with Bass so they just threw him in as some wandering punching bag with convenient amnesia for Megaman to find like they did with BN1. Stone Bass? Grave Bass? Bass came out of some hole? Don't think, that's just Bass doing Bass thing.

It's easier and cheaper to get someone that can translate from english rather than japanese.
And the show is already censored so there's no need to check the footage to see if there is offensive material.
Fun Fact: While not the first, Megaman Nt Warrios aired in Latam when dubs started using the english dub instead of the japanese original (other 2 famous ones being One Piece and Yu-gi-Oh). This makes me wonder tho, how would a dub based on the original series would sound like, would they use the original names? (Rockman), the US ones? (megaman) or would they use a translated name or original name (like MegaHombre or smth)

If the Meteor Comp in MMBN4 was always part of the meteor's operation in MMBN4, then cyberspace might not be entirely virtual; it implies that humans and Duo.EXE's creators are using similar physical principles to create and/or interact with cyberspace.
There are multiple ways that cyberspace could be entirely virtual while allowing for the existence of the Meteor Comp: 1) Dr. Regal tampered with the meteor, perhaps during the first laser firing, 2) Duo.EXE or some prior alien program created or modified the alien cyberspace 3) the alien cyberspace just happens to be compatible with human technology.

In early 2000's it was suuuuuper common for anime dubs here in Brazil to come directly from 4kids. I remember seeing the 4kids logo in Pokemon, Yu-gi-oh and many others. The brazilian dub for Megaman NT Warriors is also made using the US version. My theory is that is a lot easier to find people who can translate from english to potuguese then to find people who can translate japanese to portuguese, or at least it's cheaper

I will try to comment on as many entries as I can! Cause this is an effort that deserves attention!
    TIER 8:
Copyman: Okay, going with the idea that Copyman's true form could look like a Copybot... I am gonna suggest that he maybe look a bit like Megaman?/The Evil Megaman copy from Megaman Powered Up with a purple scarf.
Zoanoroids: These guys are pretty much, one of my favorite parts of the anime. I absolutely loved to see what the Beast Out forms of different navis look like! The fact that they are a Guyver reference (Even though I have never watched that series) is even better! I really ended up loving how the anime interpreted the plot of Battle Network 6, FAR more than the game itself!
Vic Was A Meteorologist: This guy... I will say he is one of the more forgettable villains in the series, the only thing that I even find cool about him is Elementman.
Duo Is Meteor G: This theory is actually pretty damn reasonable! And I would love to see like some sort of fanfic, depicting an alternate version of Star Force 3's climax that takes this theory into account! Like say, Duo begging to be destroyed with what little sanity he still has remaining. Maybe comment on how Geo reminds him of Hub.
Serenade In BN6: Small details like this would have gone a long way of making Battle Network 6 feel far more like a proper grand finale, though I can still understand how space limitations are a pain to deal with.
Kalinka In EXE: Had Kalinka been an operator, I wonder what her Navi would have been. As now all of the Megaman 4 Robot Masters have Navi counterparts. ...Maybe one of the Cossack Fortress bosses?
Navi Copies: I actually have had the same ethics-related questions regarding this topic. Heck, I even made sure to check footage of the japanese version of Battle Network 4 to see if the delete part during tournaments was a mistranslation... And it isnt! The announcers say "Delete" in engrish! Men! I really didnt like the implications regarding this topic!
Beyondard: That time Battle Network became a Digimon-style isekai! And I absolutely loved it! Again, I would have loved if the games actually used this.
    TIER 9:
Cache: This guy is a really cool concept for a villain Navi, and I hate that his arc in the anime. For being the finale of that continuity. Has an insultingly short ending!
Trill: I really hate how he appears in the final episode with no explanation, seriously! This is a bit of a tangent not related to the topic. But the anime had the opportunity for interactions between the EXE versions of Zero and Iris! And they NEVER meet! SERIOUSLY! Iris is alive in this continuity! I hate that the writers didnt take that chance!
    TIER 10:
Trojan Horse: The entirety of the story of Legend Of Network sounds WAY too cool to be stuck on a goddamn outdated cellphone!
Go Nagai References: I got completely taken by surprise by the Shin Getter-1 Navi! (Although that one in particular should be credited to the late Ken Ishikawa. The main creator of Getter Robo)
And may as well ad an addendum to these mecha anime references, in the episodes with the Demon Dekko dolls in Beast Plus. At one point, Lan is holding a doll of Ruri Hoshino. From the mecha series Martian Successor Nadesico! I REALLY want a Super Robot Wars game with Battle Network to make reference to this!

Glad to stay in all this iceberg video. I guess the South-Asian English dub of MMNTW was paid by Animax (who also bought Locomotion in Latin America), since the Spanish dub of Gakkou Kaidan/Ghost Stories uses the SA-Eng, literal translation, instead of the stuffed clowncar of memes that was the USA-Eng one.
Megaman NT however, was already being dubbed using the North American version. One funny detail: the actor who played Gutsman.EXE, kinda reprises his role years later after voicing Gutsman in the spanish dub of Ruby Spears Classic Megaman.

I don't know that much on the topic of licensing foreign IP for distribution in different countrys nowdays. But in Mexico we started licensing almost everything related to anime from the US from 2000s onwards because it was easier to translate from english to spanish. Which wasnt the case before cause we used to get licenses directly from japan, thats why the anime boom in Latin America or Mexico started in the 80s and then followed in the 90s, same reason how we got Dragon Ball way earlier than the US.
So MegaMan NT was just imported from the US instead of Japan because of the paradign shift on licensing in Mexico, at least for the spanish dub.

You know, I almost wonder if a Navi being set into battle means it's executing a battle program. A program that acts as a near copy of the navi but keeps its user alive upon being deleted, like a shield of sorts. While several navi's seemingly delete immediately (perhaps a certain amount of overpower cuts through the programming and fully deleted the navi?), this could explain any battle weakened Mega Man that's come out of a near losing battle of "being deleted" yet is still alive. Like many other navi's you apparently "delete", but they still retain enough power to back out of the internet.

if you ask me, the "All Exe Works are Cannon" has a similar explanation to Pokemon's explanation for the multiverse. All of these games, storylines, and forms of media are cannon in their own universes with varying timelines. With the games, anime, and manga each being on their own timeline but connected through the same multiverse. With only the games being interconnected between one another through a link cable, the same way Pokemon claims that different games and to an extension universes are connected through the device.

Btw, mnbn 1 was the first game that i introduce to megaman franchise when i was a kid but unfortunately i never completed the game. Fast foward to 2021, i played the game and it was experienced that i glad to revisit.

35:30 There's an easy way to account for Geo and Sonia returning to their own timeline in this theory - branching timelines.
In fiction, time travel is often depicted in one of two ways. One is a single timeline in which changes to the past have a butterfly effect on later points in that timeline. The other is a school of thought perhaps most commonly seen in Dragon Ball Z.
Similarly to Geo and Sonia, Dragon Ball Z's future Trunks travels to the past and among other things, gives Goku a medicine that'll save his life from a heart virus he picked up on another planet. After the events of that arc, Trunks returns to his own timeline whoch is unchanged, because changing the past creates a *separate* branching timeline in which Goku didn't die and the Androids didn't conquer Earth.
So if one is to argue for this one-timeline theory, you could suppose that the branching timeline created when ClockMan, Geo, Omega-Xis, Sonia, and Harp meddle in the past results in a Battle Network -> Classic -> X -> Zero -> ZX -> Legends timeline,
while the one they return to is the original Battle Network - Starforce timeline.

A few latin american dubs got censored around those years. Especially those that went through 4kids. I'm not sure who ran the english dub, but it's very likely that the people that made the latin american dub worked with the american one.
Prior to the 2000, it was more common in latin america to have direct dubs made from the japanese media, where you wouldn't see the common censorship and other localization shenanigans that you see in the likes of pokemon. They'd even dub the original op and ed too, like in dragon ball, slam dunk and dr. Slump. You'd see credit sequences with hiragana all over it while the song played in spanish.
Not even guns would get censored. Plenty of those in the original dragon ball. I seem to even recall nudity passing the censors. Dialogue during sexual jokes would get changed, but you'd still get that they're saying something else by the expressions.

I know it's not very important, but I can translate the three pages from 46:05. Naturally, like any manga, read it right to left:
    Page 1:
    Panel 1:
    Netta: I... I can't go on...
Netta is making heavy panting noises while Neiji has fallen over in disbelief and is skidding on his face.
    Panel 2:
Neiji: You haven't even ran 10 meters!
Netta: I can't even take another step... *panting*
    Panel 3:
Neiji: Big brother. (could be interpreted as 'Bro')
Netta: No matter what you say, what's impossible is impossible!! *panting*
    Panel 4:
Neiji: If you can make it to that corner there, I'll treat you to a YAKINIKU BURGER.
    Page 2:
    Panel 1:
    *vwoom* *fast stomping sounds*
    Panel 2:
    Netta: Whoohooey

QUICK CLARIFICATION.Go Nagai is not the creator of Getter Robo... not entirely. The late Ken Ishikawa was the creator of Getter Robo.
What happened was that a toy company at the time wanted Nagai to make a new mecha series where said mech can turn into three different mech, but he was hitting a burn out after Mazinger Z, thus pitching the idea to Ishikawa (one of his assistants at the time) and giving the full creative freedom to him, making him the rightful creator (with Go Nagai being the Co-creator).

48:24 Yeah uh, that's not what the concept of Multiversual Singularties was, it was actually a _lot_ dumber. You see, every version of a singularity is exactly the same character, which given the existance of Shattered Glass realities, makes absolutely _no_ sense. We know there's an evil Alpha Trion out there (though he was apparently somehow exempt from this phenomena until right before the shrouding) and after the shrouding separated the multiverse, ending the concept of multiversal singularities, the Shattered Glass Unicron was revealed to be a good guy too. Also in the Aligned Contunity, the Thirteenth Prime was Optimus Prime and there's also of course an evil Shattered Glass Optimus Prime, as well as another in the Transformers Animated Shattered Glass universe.

20:26 I doubt that the tournaments are fights to the death (at least in BN4), as there are a few times where the losers talk with their "deleted" Navis; as far as the Game Overs are concerned, it's probably the "you lost the tournament, go home" situation. JunkMan's deletion would at least make sense, as being made of junk data would also probably make him unstable.
As for the anime, there are two cases (well, technically three) of Navis getting deleted in tournaments; the first is in Season 1 Part 1, where ProtoMan accidentally deletes his opponent in the N1, and in Axess with Bass/Kid Grave setting up a "Deletion Tournament".

speaking of mecha references, think that the times a giant space object plummeting to earth being stopped by the combined wills of many people in both BN and SF might be a reference to Mobile Suit Gundam Char's Counterattack since well... Japan loves to use that as a backdrop in terms of a giant space object falling to earth maybe has rivals uniting like Sonic Adventure 2, megaman X5 maybe Zelda Majora's Mask
about the Bug Style vs Gospel Virus Beast thing you briefly showed, if that was my comment saying that I probably should've said it was the final battle of Getter Robo Go where Shin Getter was absorbing enemies growing and growing till it left for mars to terraform it... huh both absorptions led to a reformation of worlds in a way, Megaman rebooted the cyber world while Shin Getter slowly changed Mars into a habitable planet... and maybe more

honestly I consider sigma not appearing to be a good thing considering how many other villains he's upstaged in his own series (the X-hunters, Doppler, Repliforce, Gate, Isoc, Red alert, and the extreme games villains) its to the point where one of the most praised things about command mission is that sigma isn't in it and one of X8's most praised features is sigma getting the tables turned on him by Lumine (who isn't that great of a villain either but he gets bonus points for giving sigma a taste of his own medicine)
there are other reasons why fans of the X series (like me) don't like sigma all that much but that's a whole other discussion

18:21 TL;DR The consecuences of the Metarots/Metabots crossover is canon to BN since everything is canon to Digimon. And Digimon had a crossover with Metarots/Metabots.
Digimon has also done a crossover with Medarots/Medabots and the robots are mention to be base on something lore wise... The franchise (Digimon) which has canoncally state on it's lore that Data is more powerful and resistant then matter. And if we take both crossovers as canon, it would confirm the cyberspace being either (A) it's own pocket dimension between the Digital World and the Human world which was heavily affected by humans until they connected to it, or (B) pocket dimension that humans didn't realize created on the bridge that connects it to the Digital World, the internet.
This also would explain lore wise the net navis we have seen on games before BN6, why? Digital entities are constantly absorbing data from their envoriment AKA breathing, but they have the capasity to mentaly manipulate the state of their bodies to lower this data consumption to a minimum, allowing then to exist for longer periods of time in enviroments where there isn't data to be consume.
