Am I the only one who doesn’t care about 60fps and loading screens (there such a none issue to me) , the surface maps is such a good update and the gameplay settings make for a more customisable experience, then there’s a space rover incoming which will be a game changer for me as I love vehicles and space combat is my main thing I love about the game

To be fair ive never ever used the map for anything but to fast travel to a location. The map could have just been a list and serve the same purpose. The complaints about the map has always been silly to me.
As a Series X player, the update did make me play again and honestly I’m loving it

Nailed it with this honest review. Only thing I can't see, is this game improving at the same level as Cyberpunk, but who knows. 6:59 does sound very interesting!

“It just works” & they added “16x the map detail”
These improvements does in fact improve the game. Especially the carry capacity, and the ammo having weight makes the ammunition storage in your outpost meaningful.
I think adding more and varied locations on planets would nake me go back. Or more little things to make cities feel alive or connected like cities changing a tiny bit from big faction quests. Thatd make me play more.

Finished the video and my answer hasn't changed, but I really liked your honesty about this review. Most Starfield fans refuse to acknowledge any issues this game has and continually praise BGS, you give them credit where it's due but still mention that it should've been in the game from the start. I especially agree with your take about the higher difficulty, giving the enemies more health doesn't make them for challenging, just more tedious
It's a bit of a joke how games are often being released incomplete nowadays and rely on DLC and updates years down the line to fix the issues and they get away with it...
They get away with it because people still pay..
It wouldnt be easy or quick, but if they fleshed out the planets and added may more unique and randomly generated POIs it would probably get people coming back to play.
Still haven’t played it. I’ve put it in my cart a couple of times. But can’t seem to pull the trigger. MAYBE one day after all the updates and kinks are worked out I’ll do it.
Dont suport those money grabing companys that release 10 precent of what they promised. Pirate it instead

Am i the only person who saw no difference in the fps side by side? I play on pc and on Xbox and have never had a framerate issue while playing
Xbox was capped to 30fps before the update

@L321 They mean cant see a difference between 30 and 60. I cannot either. So I wouldn't switch to performance mode. What this game actually needs is that space buggy and console mod support. And a update to make companions always wear space suits like every enemy we face.
Still some weird bugs. I still can’t get into ship modifications from my landing pad, you can’t take one of an item from storage, you have to take all of the same item and you have to revisit every POI to get fast travel and I don’t have access to any empty ship habs.
The maps issue was always overblown imo. The performance boost and new settings are great though. Playing on Extreme for enemy and Very hard for player damage seems like the best balance for me.
Agreed. exactly the same settings that I am playing on.
In my own testing, with the FPS set to uncapped and the visual still set to quality the Xbox still cranks, right up there with my pc
Good review. Although I find it strange that a game where you fly through space explore areas, complete missions. Take part in fetch quests, gun play, customisation will be transformed with a drivable vehicle. Maybe I need to play it to understand. If all that other stuff is done so badly that the game isn't worth playing how does a drivable vehicle change anything?
All points of interest on a planet are at least five minutes apart.
Give us gambling games, mounts/vehicles, a working pool table/dartboard, and diving or underwater exploration
The game play updates and the 60 fps really add a lot to the game. Starfield isn't a perfect game, but its a very solid game with many different things to do and ways to play. Be a pirate and board and take over ships, create outposts, build ships, or be a bounty hunter, or wonder through space as a starborn. Main story is solid, some of the faction quests like the UC marine and sysdef/crimson fleet are great. Along with fun side quests like Groundpounder. I've had a lot of fun playing it in my 300 hrs. Is it Elden Ring or the Witcher 3? No. But its an 8.5/10 after the updates.

Does warping completely remove your ship customizations every time you warp? Was being talked about in another video. So if you are into warping be aware. I may have been half asleep and not hearing it right tho.
I've never warped and it took away my ship mods or made my ship look different in any way. And I have 300 hrs into it since launch.

@@Del-Canada if you're on Series X, I'd recommend the 60 fps and performance mode. Its really smooth, only dips are the 2 biggest cities. But other than that, the 60 fps makes a huge difference.

They was nice enough to release it before they were actually finished with it.... but even then it was already a masterpiece "since day 1"..
These updates are polishing finishers , it's only gonna get better
Adding in an actually useful world map and the ability to turn off the snap on dialogue camera were all you needed to spawn in 10x more Starfield apologists and asskissers apparently
Yes ignore the other 20 game play options they gave us in the update and the quality and performance modes lol.
Haven't played it yet but I've certainly heard the criticisms upon it's release.
I was certainly hyped for this game when it was announce and revealed with that dope 20min gameplay reveal.
But, like Anthem, it turned out to be a disappointment, too.
The fact that apparently there is No interplanetary travel on a gen 9 console game is ridiculous.
Haven: Call of the King had interplanetary travel, and that was on PS2.
And Opinions of the game won’t just change because their adding vehicles it will change the game entirely and what it was meant to be but if they add vehicles there most likely gonna be adding emergency pods to drop it off

Not having 60 FPS was the only reason I never played the game, but now that they added it in series X I will def give the game a try. I still dont understand how we are in 2024 and developers think it’s ok to release a game with 30 fps.
Well it's not really 60 fps. Even if set to performance and 60fps in settings is still just shattering and drops to 30 ok lets say 40 fps 😅 it's devs just to lazy to optimise. You want 60 we give you 60, but they don't care how it runs on series X
It mostly runs at 60 fps in performance mode on series X. In the 2 major and biggest cities it does dip down to the low 50s and 40s but only in those 2 major cities. Every indoor area or inside ships and most other planets it maintains between 55 and 60. maintains

Too bad they still can't provide us quality of life features like Starship blueprints that we can save, or introduce a bit of variation in character heights. It seems to be a uniform universe where gravity has affected people to the point where they're all the same height 🤣
I'm good. I turned it on after the update. I turned it right off when the first load screen took too long. The only positive I have from Starfield. Is that it introduced me to Fallout 4.

I’m over it. I won’t update the game on my Xbox. I won’t even turn on my Xbox again. Starfield annoyed me that much so that I turned it off in early October and is has been off since then.
The game is worth playing, because its not a bad game in and of itself, it's just brutally disappointing when you consider it had the same budget and same development time as Red Dead Redemption 2.

Stopped playing this game ages ago, and I was hoping they fixed it at bit...but nope, It's still so bad. The fps, the load screens, AI, the map, the nps were all horrible but was bearable for me. It was the mechanics and gameplay that made me quit. The game basically forces you to play only one way (with guns) or you don't get the full benefit of the game. Sneak is literally broken, melee weapons have no mods, unarmed is absolutely shit with no weapons...thus no dmg or mods. And all 3 have minimal support from the skill trees. Base building also seemed pointless apart from gathering materials for other bases...but what for? Only thing I found fun was being a space pirate, building ships and boarding other ships to steal them, but that doesn't do much for the story progression...
I'm going to play other games and wait until the DLC drops.
I'll stick to mass effect

Absolutely worth playing. It sucks ita a work in progress...aka cyberpunk was ccalled cyberjunk and now is the game for band wagon jumpers. Own cyberpunk and phantom liberty both since release. Cyberpunk is great but it isnt the witcher series. Starfield is ok but it will never be elder scrolls. Thats my fifth amendment yeh its getting better since i tried at launch
While the new fps makes the game greater than it was before I can’t justify it because that should have been done before the game launched. In this day and age to release such a “ambitious game” at a very poor 30 FPS is just pathetic and nothing more than them being lazy.

30fps is garbage for any game, don't let anyone tell you different. Hooray 60fps, it runs so much faster.
I bought it day one and stop playing after just a few hours. After the new update I picked it up again and played through the main quest. I found it extremely short and not very engaging. Super easy. I finished and thought to myself....is that it? The rest of the game seems so empty and everything left to do is boring and pretty much the same no matter what planet you go to it's the same....with all that room why the hell isn't there more to find? Not enough hand crafted material and not enough to do in this game. It's short and boring. I hate the space combat. It feels like your ship is standing still and everything else around you is moving. It's not fun.
There are so many things to discover and side quests and hand crafted abandoned ships and other areas. I have 300 hrs into and I'm still not bored. Its not perfect by any means but after the updates its an 8.5/10 for me.

Since the modders gave up, I don't think we'll be seeing it, but if we could completely wipe the NPC models and make them look human and pleasant (not psychopaths), it would be a nice start.
Kinda disappointing, i have a series x and i expected stable fps, but when u go in a city it can drop so badly, even lower than 30 fps i think. They really need to improve it more, and its impossible that the series s cannot run it at 60 fps, i mean look at mtro exodus, it runs so smooth in the series s
Thats why i play on 40 FPS on SX. But at some Points you have over 100fps and some around 30-35 Like New Atlantis.

This update really only benefits people with 120hz VRR displays. There isn’t alot of console games that take advantage of it, but when they do its wonderful. Ive been playing this with an unlocked framerate on performance mode and its been an amazing experience at 100fps. Im not here to talk about the opinions of the game since those are all over the place, but i will say that after putting over 100 hours at 30fps on series x… im about to put in another 100 hours with this update because i just fell in love with this game all over again lol

@@KevinGross-yr8fu the maps alone would’ve been a good enough reason for me to return but these FRAMERATES 😩 these high framerates make all the combat feel so good. Now im doing a bunch of side quests that i missed out on, and there are A LOT of them lol
When the game was out, I played like 5 hours; take a quest, go in ship, survive 10 loading screens and 5 galaxies, go to planet, go behind bar, look at the box - repeat all once more - back to quest owner, thank you quest is completed - uninstall.
This game looks tedious...

Its far from boring, its a massive Bethesda RPG with more content to come and has really shaped up to be a amazing, there is no other game like it, truly a masterpiece!
