The harmonic contrast between Tarja and Marco just cannot be beaten.

@@vanessalore9942 IMO, Tarja's version of Sleeping sun, is the only correct version of the song. Floor's a great rock/metal singer, but her voice just doesn't fit this song. The song is meant to be a lullaby like ballad, but Floor delivers it more like a rock anthem and while she gives it a powerful deliver, unfortunately, she overpowers it and loses some of the more subtle emotional nuances that Tarja delivers.
This song is Tarja! Best Nightwish era.

This song is special to me. I call it my freedom song because it helped me stop smoking. I have every version, every performance I can find on a playlist. Here’s it’s a little slower in spots than at Wacken. It’s a difficult song to sing, for all of the singers. I believe Floor said it was the hardest, or one of the hardest. It rises higher and higher and Floor uses her chest voice, which means she’s belting for days. Here, Tarja is sick and even though she is doing the operatic, she also has to belt as well. This was actually Anette’s audition demo, and I believe she sang it in a lower key. But I think they’ll all great.

I would go with what Petra suggested, Ghost Love Score from this concert. For me, the songs are different enough that I don’t really have a favourite version. The tone of both performances are unique, and the choir is much more prominent. Always a great song!
Tarja is not belting here on the really high notes. She doesn't have to. With her classical style she's comfortable up there. It's more on the lower notes where she belts. Classical singers typically use Bel canto on high notes like that.

The Siren is one from this show you have not done, one of my favorites, highly recommended. Ramsey has already done that one. lol
This is one of the songs people point to when arguing that Tuomas had romantic feelings for Tarja, and that he wrote it about her. He, knowing this was their last show together, may have taken this song a little harder, than others. You did react to the very last song from this concert, Wish I had an Angel. Just for fun, you should react to the Wacken 2013 version of Ever Dream now. I believe you only did Wembley 2015 before this. Love ya! ❤️ (don’t kill anybody SueSue)
When I look at thisrecording of End of Era concert, it's hard for me to remember that we're seeing exactly what Holopainen wants us to see. The editing is nicely dramatic in terms of details.

It's great that you know so much about the band.
I think you should listen to the Ghost love score from the End of an Era concert with the subtitles on, mainly because of what the chorus sings at the end. The lyrics there are very important and the song is considered Tuomas' farewell to Tarja. Then be sure to check out the last song from the Wish I had an Angel. But find the video with outro (takes 7 minutes). It's quite moving.

Did you do "High Hopes"? "Phantom of the Opera" with Tarja? They were from "End of an Era".

Yeah, if they haven't reacted to Phantom of the Opera from that same performance yet, that's definitely one they want to react to, because it's probably the all around best cover of the song ever done. Andrew Loyd Weber said it was his favorite cover of the song.
The last song of this concert was "Wish I had an Angel" and yeah you can see the weight of what was to happen show on Tuomas's face. I love this dvd but it always makes me a little sad. The good part is knowing that everyone has moved on and everyone is happy and successful

Worth doing more - try Blood Mary's Creek for example.
As to Ever Drem, really good version - I do prefer the reimagination by Floor for a couple ofcreasons but nevertheless it's worth going back to this one fairly often (I watch this concert quite often).
The only negatives if comparing ate the thick accent which sometimes gets in the way (for me, bit obviously for Finns it's irrelevant) and a slightly lesser degree of emotional nuance.
But nevertheless really really good 😀
Don't get into the debate over the split - firstly there is no point, it happened, sone great music came out of it, End of story.
Second you'll just stir up a lot of still-raw feelings that you don't really need on a positive channel.
The spreadsheet should show you sone particular songs that IMO are worth watching from this.
There are other Tarja live performances of Ever Drem that are well worth visiting too.
Lots of alternatives to OBS but most are not that reasonable a cost. Unfortunately the software vendors have realised that subscriptions are a guaranteed revenue stream for very little effort, do yhey are all going that way rather than a obe-off purchase. My advice from the cost perspective is look for software you can buy outright, or something free - don't get into thecdubscription trap.
Or perhaps look at a n optional subscription for the chsnnel - Patreon is not a good company but there are others.

the last song of the concert was Wish i had an Angel, this was one of the first songs of the set. Tarja most likely fired because she was married to someone not named Tuomas. He gave her a letter and told her not to open it till the next day. They then released that letter over that night, trashing Tarja. essentially trying to bury her, before she could tell her side of the story.. Tuomas then wrote a few diss tracks about her, to which she wrote Enough and Diva in response.
All the things said about her by the band has shown otherwise throughout her career and the words of many other's who've worked with her. Not to mention them lying about Annette quitting the band, when she was actually fired after being sick and pregnant.
Includes Ante Room of Death. Boy you can feel venom over ice with.l the fury she was channeling.
Its taken years for them to be able to talk civilly.
Tarja has written songs that we, her fans believe to be about tuomas, nightwish, and the whole sorted incident. However, she has never publicly stated that those songs were specifically about that. You only know they are by knowing what happened and how the lyrics fit the situation.
On the other hand tuomas and the band have deliberately went out of their way to exploit the drama of the whole incident, particularly on the album that immediately followed, Dark Drama Play. They exploited the drama to hype it at Tarja's expense. This tells you all you need to know!
Nightwish management had a hand in the events that happened as well, and the exploitation of those events for Profit! Back when tuomas fired Sami Vanska (the original bassist), he kinda made a deal with the devil (figuratively of course) and handed over control of the band to 3 fellows of less than stellar character (Ewo pohjola, Toni Peiju, and John Finberg). If you google those names, particularly Finberg, you'll see what really "great" guys they are (sarcasm intended). Anyway, behind the scenes, they played a big role in the events that unfolded. They greatly disliked the fact that Tarja had her own manager (Marcelo) looking out for her. It made it more difficult for them to exploit her, and the rest of the band. So, that was an incentive to for them to want her gone. back then tuomas had a drinking problem and these guys exploited that, along with his jealousy. Marcelo wasn't just Tarja's manager. The 2 fell in love. An incident that may have help spark that romance was when Marcelo saved her from being raped on stage by a drunken fan, while the band played on. Tarja and Marcelo were eventually married and today they have a beautiful daughter together. Anyway, tuomas feelings for Tarja were never so secret, and the management exploited this to manipulate him and turn him against Tarja and Marcelo.
hi i wanted to watch this and other song from end of an era at least 3 or more times to confirm just noticed that Tuomas sings along with the lead singer but in this last consert he did sing but only with Marco when Tarja sang he kept his mouth closed and there is an overall disconnect from the boys and Tarja she loved / still loves fans and that was her focus

Tarja has some European shows coming up next month with special guest 'Marco Hietala'. I would assume they will perform a few songs together, so that will be nice to see. She has said in interviews that through the years she has been in contact with the guys and they are all on friendly terms and realise they all should have handled things better back then.

@@kazfarah7623 I've never heard her say that, and I've seen a lot of her interviews. On the contrary, she avoids questions about NW, or she is very diplomatic. I didn't even find anywhere that she ever said that. Rather, it is a myth that circulates among fans who have chosen not to like her.

If you do some research you will discover it was more about her Husband who is her manager and trying to control the direction of the band.
