2011 Trillian Trust Auckland Cup - Alexandra Park, Auckland: Im Themightyquinn

Im Themightyquinn (Themightyquinn when racing in New Zealand) gets the better of Mr Feelgood and Pembrook Benny to win the Trillian Trust Auckland Cup. He returned in 2013 to win for the second time just five days after taking out the Interdominion title at Menagle.

As good as it gets. Mr Feelgood gave plenty in this race a good thing beaten by Quinny. Adding Smoken Up to this lot would have perhaps made it the best field I could remember and that's going back to the 70s.

For mine the best field i can remember would have been the 1993 Interdominion final won by Jack Morris. Westburn Grant, Frano Tiger, Christopher Vance, Blossom Lady and so on. '89 Inters field was pretty good too

@@bgardiner3354 for mine I'd say the 85 inters final which included Preux Chevalier Village Kid and Gammalite. If Poppy had been running as well could you imagine.

@@paulivankovich7349 actually yes that was a strong field. A few of the inters finals you could make a case for. The field Smoken Up / ITMQ beat in the Auckland Inters was extremely strong also. BAF, Monkey King, Mr Feelgood... 3 of the top 10 ANZ pacers of all time IMO in the same race. So... best race you've seen and best horse
