Discovery Plus Concert Band - Grade 2
Here are all your favorite Nutcracker themes rolled into a clever and lighthearted medley. For added excitement, appoint an official time keeper and use a big hourglass-type egg timer or a projected digital stopwatch so the audience can track your progress as the band frantically races to finish under 3 minutes. (An accelerando is built-in at the end in case you need to make up time!)

Most arrangements of high level pieces for younger bands are usually disappointing, however I feel this arrangement for younger band is quite great.

Played this in 8th grade. Good arrangement. My only problem with it is Waltz of the Flowers feels less. The rest is captured well

So we got this piece for my schools honour band on Friday November 25th. Honour practice is an hour after school and we didn't play it much. So like every other piece I get I take it home and practice it for hours till I get it perfect. Not this one. Got it down (especially 8) in about an hour. My other flute friend hates me because I do this.
as a mallet percussionist, this piece is so fun! having the melody for more than 5 bars is always a nice surprise

I was looking for a different Nutcracker medley arrangement that was performed in my high school Marching Band. I played trombone. The arrangement in this video has smaller sections of the various pieces. I always liked "Waltz of the Flowers," and one day I was on cloud 9 in the band room because the bandleader kept directing us to start playing the section that I liked in that piece.
