As a kid, my mom was a dance teacher. Her best friend (and the mother of my childhood best friend) was a professional ballerina. So almost every year when I was a child, we would go and watch her dance in the nutcracker. So many good memories hearing this music again

I had a similar childhood, mom and my aunt taught tap & ballet while my very talented grandmother sewed many costumes we also enjoyed the nutcracker which my sister danced the candy canes at least that's what I remember. I met many professionals too. I'd be surprised if you weren't at least initiated in classes too. The experience a blessing and a lot of good memories too.

Very well done, and very much appreciated. But why is the English Dance out of order on this recording? It's part of the "Entertainment" dance recital, and it belongs with the other five Dances. Why end the Nutcracker ballet with this little piece, when the Apotheosis is so right? It's kind of a bridge, I suppose, to La Sylphide, but no orchestra plays non-stop for over two hours. Ideas, anyone?

Summers 1960's & 70s, the NYC ballet would practice The Nutcracker Suite Christmas production at Saratoga performing arts center -it was dirt cheap or free for lawn seats, we'd go in the summer and have picnics...
(Also Swan Lake, Peter and the Wolf)
And when I was older, of course went to the holiday productions in Boston and New York... But running around barefoot in the summer fantasizing about Christmas was something special! When a lot of my friends went to Disney world.
      They can have it!
The Nutcracker Suite is one of the most magical aspects to Christmas
      I also play/played the violin!
And I happen to be staring at a nutcracker right now!
Wonderful memories - I hope you have many more.
      Happy holidays!

My city did the nutcracker ballet but with figure skating and listening to this album gives me bittersweet memories.
I started when I was five and preformed for almost 10 years so the nutcracker was a very big staple in my family’s Christmas traditions, and I really do miss it a lot.
Just listening to the soundtrack gives me fond memories on the ice and of my last performance with the nutcracker, and that feeling that Christmas was just around the corner after the show was over. Hopefully this year I can go back and see it once again. Hope y’all have a great holiday season this year! ☺️

I had the privilege to be a "ballerina" and be a part of the nutcracker. I started training pointe and within a year was on stage doing turns and jumps. I don't know how I was able to do that, something happened on those nights of performances. didn't fall or trip. Hearing 41:25 and 42:12 reminds me of how intense everything felt. IVE NEVER FELT LIKE THAT in my life again. I MISS IT SO MUCH !!!!!!!!!!!!! I seriously don't know how that was able to happen. (I was dancing next to trained dancers that had 7+ more experience than me, that's why it's so insane I did that lol)

Quotation marks around single words can occasionally be used for emphasis, but ONLY when quoting a word or term someone else used. Usually, this implies that the author doesn't agree with the use of the term. He said he was “working”; it looked to me like he was procrastinating
-To put it another way: Putting quotation marks around "dance" and "private" suggests you are implying some kind of sex-work... Is that your true meaning?
