hello steven i have a beckett A ,AF series burner my motor is making same noises have the same old motor this is my part KPB48S34S245F N HP 1/4 what was the model motor you use as the replacement please reply thanks Eddie.
Here's what worked for me. I put the short end of the allen wrench in the screw to get leverage with the long end and then I rocked it back and forth till it loosened.
cirus1985 its a 10,000 volt transformer ,get the old style transformer for what ever burner you have problem a beckett afg, do not buy the new style 14,000 volt electronic tranformers there junk
Dude I really wanna thank you for sharing your expertise. Keep up the good work its work ethic like yours that keep America running! Becket has been so reliable for me I have serviced my unit since I bought my house and you have shown me how reliable they are once you know what to do!
When you pulled the motor, inside the squirrel cage, on top of the shaft was a white "cap". You skipped the part where you removed that, how did you do it? That's the only thing keeping me from removing the squirrel cage and slapping it on the new motor :(
My old Beckett burner looks just like this one. It started making that same exact noise last winter. It ran for a few minutes this fall when I turned it on, then it quit. Trying to match up the old motor with newer model numbers. Mine is about 30 years old. I'm glad I watched this because I wasn't sure if I was getting the right motor, noticing that the newer motors don't have the same housing as the old ones do, so they look a little different. (depending on brand).
At 3:06 you skip the part where you removed that part on the end of the shaft above the fan. This is where I'm currently stuck with mine. Does it just slip straight off?
I got it off, it was stuck because the metal on the shaft had built up rust. I used 2 pry bars and applied even gentle pressure to on opposite sides of the fan and I was able to pull it off.
That must have been a job replacing the tank. Did you have to transfer the oil in the old tank to the new tank? If so, how? Also did you have to cut the old tank to get it out? Thanks Jeff
***** it was full so i placed the new tank close to the old tank and transfured the oil after i piped it off it was leaking oil so i had no cloice .it was a busy day to bad i did not get any videos of it ..
By the way I would also recommend a microphone for your audio to be heard if not add it later as a tip cause your words are sometimes not inaudible. But you impart great wisdom so you really should add it!
wow steven, i had never seen an oil burner before, this was really interesting, actually if that is at somebodys house, seems like the tank with the gas or the oil in it would be like a bomb waiting to go off if something went wrong,
beckett oil burner motor replaced had noises bearing

Excellent video Steven! Do you have any videos on tuning up a Beckett Oil Burner system? Thanks!!

LOL I'm having the same issue. That part wont come off and since it's plastic i'm afraid to use force.
I got it off, it was stuck because the metal on the shaft had built up rust. I used 2 pry bars and applied even gentle pressure to on opposite sides of the fan and I was able to pull it off.
Gotta go replace one of those motors furnace is 2 weeks old and she’s screeching already on a thermopride

my squirrel cage keeps getting stuck and won't spin...how do I know if it's the motor or the pump?
I just replaced one of these today along with a full tune up🌚
+Andy Daly good deal
If the motor is making noise is it also less efficient because of friction?
***** the amp draw is about the same its just a loose berring worn out so it makes noise . i do not thing it affects efficient so much
What cause this burner to create a lot of smokes and strong diesel smell in the air? It's really difficult to breath and pain in the eye.
cirus1985 its full of soot and needs to be fully cleaned out brushed and vaccummed ,then new nozzle and filter.
Thanks for sharing Steve. Quick question, do you keep existing cage?
what kind of oil?
Question for you, do you replace the coupler when you do the motor, and how did you know it was the motor and not the pump making the noise?
Working on mine as we speak. It makes a whinny noise on the motor side by the self aligning bearing housing
Did you try oiling it is two holes in that the oil the front and the rear bearing The bearings would’ve quieted right down
wow steven, i had never seen an oil burner before, this was really interesting,

teh60 a oil burner can really cook for sure
Why u wear gloves?
Is it the motor is spoil if the fan is hard to move freely?
cirus1985 well your turning the pump and the motor also at the same time
the motor on my beckett burner gets pretty hot .. but i can still lay my hand on it... is this a normal amount of heat.
