if you arranged them all into one flat panel and just had white led's in them they could make a really nice soft box effect for filming in

Thanks for this wonderful idea! I took it to the next level, replacing the "normal" leds with controllable rgb leds. Every led is completely independent from the other one, so you can even make a running text :) maybe ill upload a video showing how it works!
