Linda I had same issue, I am not sure he'd be bothered if Twi was spoken... There's always a first time and maybe Serwah has triggered it... I won't mind watching a red carpet session where the host won't mind speaking Ewe with Edem if they both understand... We have watched English shows where Spanish and German are used every once in a while... Serwah spoke Ga to Ga folks and it wasn't bad like that...

I'm am from another ethnic group and I didn't appreciate her speaking Ga cos I wanted to enjoy the red carpet interviews but she spoke a language I didn't understand with no translation and no subtitles. This event is watched nationwide and watched by millions of people who speak over 80 languages. How were the others supposed to know what's going on? Understandably, it makes you proud as a Ga but you should understand that Gas are a very small percentage of a larger country. Whether he would have had a problem if it was Twi being spoken is irrelevant. Even speaking English is a problem for those who don't understand but we can excuse that by saying it's the official language. Adding Ga into the mix is further reduces the number of people who will understand what's going on. we shouldn't encourage mixing languages like that on a national program especially one that has nothing to do with language or the culture of any particular people.
