Broken screen no problem $70 easy fix

I had to replace broken sensus screen on 2013 Volvo XC60 it simply stop working and since car has 60K miles it is not covered by warranty, I got a used one on eBay for $70 and it works fine again

Have you checked those new Android System Head units? I think it would be a great aftermarket replacement to the Volvo oem head unit.

I have tried to upgrade my XC70 '2015 with a 7 inches screen bought in second hand market. The original screen is a 5 inches one. After connecting the power cable a the fiber cable I can only see the Volvo logo in the display. Nothing more happens. I have contact my local Volvo dealer and I have been tod that the screen won't work because the hardware is digitally signed for the source car... Can anybody confirm that issue?

Did you reprogram anything or upgraded any software cuz if you can really plug and play replace then why my local Volvo dealer said I can’t use a used replacement and I will have to buy a new one from Volvo !! If it’s really that easy then why my local garage guy sent me to Volvo even when he spent a day to rip apart the dashboard and switched to the used one

I changed from a used one, but it’s not working. The replaced screen will switch off few seconds after the car started. How do u fix your problem?

I have the same problem with my dad’s V60. The screen is black at daytime and is only working during the night when it’s dimmed. Volvo wants 2000€ to fix it but they want to replace the full navigation head unit instead of the screen. I will check if the problem is solved when I replace the screen. Many thanks!!!

@Anthony Lane I'm guessing yours did not? My v40 infotainment has died too, but don't want to fork out for a screen if it's not the screen that's the issue. Just wondering, did you manage it fix yours? Mine is completely dead, no radio or audio of any kind and no nav, tel etc. Did you replace your screen? Did it fix the issue?

@@stubblemcoil935 have got same issue screen dead no audio apart from rds can't put in or take out cd. IAM module not active in Vida. Did you manage to fix it?

Funny... You didn't show how "easy" it is to take the dashboard apart. So this is just click bait.

It's pretty easy to take apart the dash. A T25 screwdriver is a great start. Also some plastic trim tools. Watch some other Volvo dash removal videos and check the Volvo forums for tips too.
