As someone without tele, this is great to watch for recaps. I only watch while I’m at work and it’s not always going to be on when I work. Thanks for posting these
THANK YOU for this channel!! I can _finally_ engage with Le Tour after so many years of watching 30 second highlights that just got me disinterested after a few days.
Cameron Moberg --- Free to air UK tv is just as bad, every 5-10mims it's an advert break, with the same 5 ads... A month subscription to Eurosport is the only way to go...
By far the best highlights available, no spoiler, Si doing a splendid job keeping the momentum up, providing facts with a great touch! Perfect way to catch up if you missed the live coverage. Keep it up GCN, only thing better would be a slightly longer version, so you can add those small odd details and observations you normally do!
@@francisling3196 Ok but only so many teams could even lay their hands upon the maillot jaune, and even fewer could retain it for multiple days. By that standard, Jumbo Visma is not too shabby indeed.
What’d be really great is a basic rundown on how the Tour de France works. What are the different types of stages, how are you scored, is the team’s time based on the slowest time or their average time?
While I agree a longer highlights show would be great, I am happy that GCN has expanded their highlights for this year's Tour AND added the Racing channel. Thanks!
I could get use to this. Can't watch the race(s) do to limited packages in my area, personal budget and a bit timing conflicts. So yeah this is nice. Well done.
These are such good packages. Like everyone, longer would be nice but we all get the rights issues. However, even in the limited time GCN is packing in really helpful info on teams and riders PLUS making it exciting. This is how it should be done. Also, how cool is this start for - sorry, forget his name - Teumissen? - fiurst Dutchman in yellow for 30 years, then he holds it for the first 2 days (so far)! I love it when unheralded riders get rewarded like this.
Excellent new content, only improvement would be slightly longer highlights to bridge the gap between 5 minute quickfire and the longer 45 minute highlights! I think another comment mentioned 15-20minutes that would be awesome :) Edit: longer
was George Bennett (Jumbo Visma, #82) riding the old version of the Bianchi TT bike (Aquila CV)? Looks like he was the only one with a sloping top tube...
Thank you for not putting a spoiler title on the highlights videos. I unsubscribed from other channels that insist on doing that. I wish commenters would not spoil, I have to go to full screen and avoid the spoilers.
I was hoping Van Aert would bring something to the tour and I think we’re seeing it Vehement pulls out front and keeps the heat on for his squad I know it’s about the team and they all pulled their weight effectively but I’m hoping the “cXfactor” is the next “thing” in grand tours !
Can't help but to chuckle about Ineos, having to sit out there on the hot seats, only to be beaten by the last team. Can't be good for their legs, thus ought to be good for overall competition this Tour.
I'm liking this content, but the commentary tense from Si feels wrong. He's speaking in present tense, but highlights have always traditionally been done in past tense. Nothing major, but it feels odd.
Prologue, nope. Team time trial, nope. Flat stages, nope. Come on the mountains so the Tour GC contenders can come out to play...... the rest is filler.
It seems my comments don't get views or likes, perhaps I miss the cutoff time, perhaps no-one is interested... I'd like to make another suggestion though, which could perhaps be echoed by someone on the next video... although you may only be able to show five minutes of actual footage, you could pad it out with facts such as 'this rider couldn't make it to the start line' or 'that rider needs to make up x seconds during this race', it'd make the viewable footage more interesting and relevant.
@@Ewane Bt it just feels of. It's a kind of recap more than an highlight of live coverage. It doesn't sound monotonal if you do your job well and you can add expression without acting surprised.
Yellow jersey is good adds watts to any TTT. Tony Martin on your squad is like adding a motorbike to draft behind
Beating all current highlights on UA-cam. Cheers all. Keep it up

Training the team time trial on a Dutch military airfield seems to pay-off for Jumbo-Visma.
What a great accomplishment by the the team!
Well signing Tony did not hurt them either
And now with Dumoulin as well... Van Aert also got super good at time trials so this is a team of specialists
Did today's stage result surprise you? Who do you think will win tomorrow? Let us know in the comments below 🇫🇷
Valverde for the win tomorrow.
GCN Racing Allaphilippe for the win tomorrow I think
Alaphillipe or van averamat
1 Caleb Ewan 2 Peter Sagan 3 Alaphillipe 4 Matthews
Van Aert stage. Would be cool. 3 in a row for Jumbo Visma ain't impossible.
Longer highlights for future stages please! I think 10-20 minutes for a good highlights reel would be sweet.
Hi Ellis, we’d love to but you need to have certain permissions to be able to do that unfortunately. Here’s hoping we get the chance in the future!
After what we have had previously available to us here in BC I’m up for Simon and his 5 min recap anytime.
The Communist no they don’t....they are bound by the same restrictions. Get your fact right.
Only for the mountains, the rest can be even shorter for me.
@@bobfitzsimmons3490 Thanks Bob!
Great race coverage guys. We just need a little more.

Woohoo! Thanks Stefan!
The commercials on NBC are so frustrating. I just want to watch cycling not the starts & finishes with 80% ads inbetween.

You're nailing these highlights so far! Congrats on the great job!
Gr8 highlights Simon & the GCN crew! Enjoyed it more than Eurosports! Especially good idea to mention yesterday & tomorrow ;)
Thanks Jon!
UCI NEEDS TO PAY GCN AND MAKE IT AN OFFICIAL CHANNEL 🔥🔥🔥
THANX GCN & SI ON THIS GREAT HIGHLIGHTS VID
Team Jumbo Visma are really turning it up this year!
Only 2bd day... inios will grind them down
@@francisling3196 Ok but only so many teams could even lay their hands upon the maillot jaune, and even fewer could retain it for multiple days. By that standard, Jumbo Visma is not too shabby indeed.
Go Jumbo-Visma! Loving this, rooting for this team all the way, and I’m from the US

30 seconds in and already the best cycling UA-cam channel
Perhaps the best recap online Fantastic work GCN!

Love the channel
And loving the tour recaps etc thank you Team
Plus Tony Martin is a GUN
Yesss I made it on gcn 😁 (one of the guys holding the riders)
best commentary! usually I like how the race is won series but it's not consistent and eurosport is subpar
This is great - thank you for posting.
Even at this point, Tony is still a huge challenge to beat in the world tour. Vest best wishes to Tony this year.
Love your TDF highlights summary, thumps up..
Can you guys do a video of some of the strategy involved in a TTT and in racing in general? Im having a hard time finding info on it.
Absolutely perfect summary.
Solid highlights package Team GCN
Whoa, Van Aert on the Tour de France. Now we need MVDP to ramp up the competition.😁
rigoberto uran isnt going for GC??
this highlight is definitely better than Eurosport!
Did Bora hansgrohe and Michaelton scott not race, or what?
indeed they did, and poorly at that
Maybe
Mediocre times, Bora lost around 45s and MCS around 41s (whatever it was MCS and AST tied). I can't remember the exact times so these may be wrong.

Hopefully in the future Toby, but at the moment this is as much as we are allowed to show. Dan
Thanks for the reply! I had a worry this might be the case :( fingers crossed in the future :)
Nice highlights!
Why no Astana highlights?
was George Bennett (Jumbo Visma, #82) riding the old version of the Bianchi TT bike (Aquila CV)? Looks like he was the only one with a sloping top tube...
Egan looks like the biggest candidate to Champion

Will GCN do a service car ridealong again this year?
No GCN race analysis this year? ☹️
EF without a rider with GC ambitions? What about Uran then?
no wonder there was no notification I HADN'T ACTIVATED THE BLOODY BELL WHAT AM I DOING WITH MY LIFE
Summary of all jersey holders please?
supernpstr Yellow: Teunissen Green: Teunissen (will be worn by Sagan) White: Van Aert Polka Dot: Van Avermaet Team: Jumbo-Visma
Well done, guys. 👍
Why dont they feature TTTs anymore in recent grand tours?
I was hoping Van Aert would bring something to the tour and I think we’re seeing it
Vehement pulls out front and keeps the heat on for his squad
I know it’s about the team and they all pulled their weight effectively but I’m hoping the “cXfactor” is the next “thing” in grand tours !
Mike Teunissen was world champion CX as an 'espoir' in 2013, Wout van Aert was second then.

The biggest bike race over the world
Bora Hansgrohe?
Back in the days when they didn't know Wout was a full powerhouse too
I don't feel sorry when Ineos loses a race.

I like the channel. One point of feedback, the commentator is talking too fast, as if he was reading in a hurry... Eurosport is calmer and nicer
Some English accents are bearable...

Don't act surprise if you are not recording the highlight live. It's ridiculous and iritating.
For some people this is all the chance/time they have to follow a sport they love a little excitement is nice for us too :)
Yeah but if you don't get excited then it sounds monotonal and dull
