Amazing casting, the way Jesus and Jesus interact, a real strong friendship falling apart. Probably my favorite version of Gethsemane. He's so real, so much emotion, begging his father to tell him why he has to do all this..
I've seen several great singers interpret the role of Jesus, and I've enjoyed them all, but for me Ben Forster is the most extraordinary. His performance is breathtaking. And Tim Minchin is an absolutely stunning Judas.
This man like Jesus Christ is pure art, in my opinion he is one of the best in the history of this musical. Im not saying the best, but one of them is, also his peeformance is heartbreaking
My favorite showing of this show, saw the the 1970’s version, and the John Legend live version, a live broadway version at TPAC, and this one gets me for every performance every single time. It’s perfection.
they also auto tuned Jesus and it is awful there is video of both of them doing it without auto tune and I highly recommend finding it you get so much more of an appreciation for the performance
Not that fussed in the slightest about Foster tbh, he's not terrible but I just feel half the time he's shouting it just sounds like a 5 year old having a tantrum, phenomenal falsettos tho to his credit!
You can’t. The cast was incredibly pissed that ALW autotuned their voices. Nobody who’s a good singer wants anyone to know that they use autotune. So they banned all selling of the show. You’re not allowed to buy the album, you’re not allowed to buy the DVD, you’re not allowed to buy the Blu-Ray, you’re not allowed to download it digitally either.

Saw jesus christ superstar on tour last night❤. Still an awesome musical but Ben will always be the best jesus for me. Exceptional voice and talent 😊🙏

I bought a copy on DVD on Amazon a few months ago... You can probably download it, as well, but I like physical media. :)
