For more from London Grammar check out ‘Rooting for you’, ‘I need the night’, ‘Wasting my young years’, ‘Big Picture’, ‘Metal and Dust’ and ‘Strong’ for which they won an Ivor Novello award as a good start. They don’t shy away from using electronic as well as analogue/electric instrumentation but it is always incredibly tasteful. Nick should check out how Dan Rothman adds a really spartan approach to his guitar contributions which act as annotation to the core key sound that underlies Hannahs voice.
The dynamics in this song have always really floored me. Incredible. Pure vocal and connection, pure energy, building to a beautiful crescendo. On my pensive playlist.
Please guys... You need to do more of London Grammar reactions... It's crimin@l that so few of London Grammar reactions exist on UA-cam. They create bangers after absolute bangers.
@@shortsontap99 true, same here. I don't listen to too many artists. Only a few uniquely talented artists like these who stand out from the crowd. What I've observed is that usually these kinds of unique talents never get as much recognition because they choose to break the cliche norms and do something creatively different.
About bl-dy time!!!! Thanks to Michael for bringing Hannah and the boys to their attention. Hopefully you can do something of them live to hear the purity of Hannah’s voice without effect or alteration. There is a livestream of their California Soil album from the covid period which is exceptional.
Thank you for reacting to London Grammar. I have loved them for years. Hannah Reid has a beautiful voice. You should listen to Oh Woman, Oh Man next. Cheers, Paul
I’m not sure if you do reactions to videos of live performances but if you do please consider reacting to London Grammar Hell To The Liars (Live at The Round Chapel). It is really outstanding. Being able to watch just three musicians create so much sound is a must see.
Same here. London Grammar is not the Kind of band/music I usually got into, but they are really an exception. They have so much more to be showed and heard. Hannah is an exceptional singer and has a single voice. - Rooting for you - Lord is a feeling (Amazon original version) - Chris Isaaks, Wicked Games (cover) - America - Hey Now And a lot more. All are good calls.
Thanks for reacting to my favourite song by London Grammar! I have been a big fan of the band since the first time I heard their song "Strong" on the radio, a few years back. I love the band's atmospheric, uncluttered approach to writing and recording songs. Hannah Reid has a beautiful voice! The band put in a great performance at the Glastonbury Festival, earlier this year.
Hannah Reid is the singer I don’t know how many octaves her voice can reach but it’s quite a few. Some years ago they appeared on Italian tv doing their tune “oh woman, oh man “, it’s worth a look.
Thank you, Michael, great request, NicknLex, great reaction, one thing us Libra's have is a soft heart, and we wear it on our sleeves, our emotions are right on the edge, we feel things very deeply and emotionally, this song is very calming and soothing, I love it.
I heard London Grammar a few time before I actually saw the lead singer Hannah. When you hear her and then later see her you realize life's just not fair! ;)
I'm glad you like Hannah Reid's vocals! I just love Hannah Reid's vocals! They resonate with me very much! This song made be go out buy all their albums, three so far and the fourth is coming out very soon. They have a bunch of songs that are outstanding with Hannah Reid's voice carrying you on a blissful journey. I'm not sure what kind of music this is…like alternative pop? It is different isn't it? I normally don't listen to this type of music (Think Yes, ELP, Gentle Giant, Kansas, Marillion, Steeley Dan…etc) but this is quite the exception for me. Heard this on the Netflix show "Hannah" on I think the last episode of season one but not sure about that. Try listening to "Hey You" from their first album "If You Wait" and "Bones of Ribbon" from the same album as this song and "California Soil" from the album "California Soil". I just think this band is a great change of pace for me.
Love London Grammar - Would be great to watch you react to more of their great songs. 'Rooting for You' is fantastic and always gets me emotional. 'Strong', 'Nightcall' and 'Lord it's a Feeling' are other personal favourites. Look forward to seeing the next reaction 😍
Geez!! This is a fantastic request! Beautiful voice! Indie pop vibe! Really like this for a change of pace! And has sparked an idea for a request!❤️really enjoyed your reaction. Love you both!! This gave goosebumps!!!
The song that made you cry about the little girl was 'Magnificent (She Says) by Elbow, Nick, but you were getting a bit mixed up with The National from the US. But I can see how you thought of them when listening to the build up in this song. I thought it was great, thanks Michael. This band is pretty big in the UK and Europe, and I'm going to delve into their catalogue definitely.
Her voice is *unearthly* - I can't think of anyone who sounds like her. I love the song, although I wouldn't have objected had it been say a minute, minute and a half shorter.
I've always been frustrated with London Grammar. Hannah Reid is an amazing and unique vocalist, but quite frankly her talent is being wasted. All their music has the same dreamy synthpop sound, and to my ears it gets old really fast. This song is a perfect example: it has the potential to build up to something extraordinary, but unfortunately they don't know what to do with it and simply repeat the same chords over and over. It's a shame, because with better musical compositions they could've reached the success of Florence + Machine or Lana Del Rey.

Goosebumps from her voice. Great reaction guys thank you 🎉
Now listen to the same song live at the round chapel, even better 👍

Agreed, they're all so talented! Every song is an experience that only few artists have been able to evoke for me.

London Grammar is special, like you ❤
Thank you 🫶🏼

That whole record is amazing ❤
Outstanding lead vocalist and interesting underpinning of instrumental background!
'Oh Woman Oh Man' is fantastic by these guys.

yes yes please they are so great london grammar are the best
London Grammars most popular song is "Hey Now" worth checking out
Loved how it moved you both. ‘Rooting for You’ would be another journey.
First heard Hannah Reid London Grammar at trnsmt festival Glasgow 2017. Captivating

What a voice!
You must watch a video of London Grammar performing live and you will see and appreciate how they slowly build up their songs.
The audio for this reaction is in fact from their live Round Chapel gig - it's mesmerising. Hannah Reid is a goddess...
@@karmachochi Yes it is fantastic but NicknLex really need to see this band performing live to fully appreciate their artistry.
If you like London Grammar I recommend Julia Fordham's Porcelain, Manhattan Skyline, and Lock & Key for starters.
A rare and beautiful thing - another Julia Fordham fan in the wild! I'd recommend Betrayed, Island and Did I Happen To Mention.
I really dig this 👌 😅
Listen to their album "Californian soil" as well..love ya...Kent
You my man were experiencing what's known as a heavy dose of 'Frisson' lol
Not all of us are lucky enough to achieve that :)
ooh...what a surprise..London Grammar....superb (and well done for posting this, I dont think their management are too keen on reaction videos)
Glad you enjoyed!! That’s a shame. The intention is so spread their music and help promote them.
I'm subbing just to see more of your reactions of Hannah, Bones Of Ribon is amazing and their new song 'house' is a favourite
Wonderful music, it´s hard not to get moved by Hannah Reid´s voice. Try "If You Wait" next.

I really don’t think Hannah or London Grammar get the recognition they deserve
Please try Wasting My Young Years, If You Wait, or Interlude - maybe the greatest female voice of the last 15yrs.
