Their abrupt rebuff to the Toucan's offer without even an attempt at discussion is indicative of how clueless in business these two are. He dodged a bullet there - they'd be a nightmare to work with. I think they thought they were showing their backbone, but they weren't. They were displaying their lack of gumption.

Teaching my kids how to read was one of the most joyous, rewarding experiences of my life. I would never, ever outsource that to a device.

I don't get it. How is that supposed to help a child read? I'm with Theo, I just don't understand the purpose, cause it doesn't help them read and they're gonna get bored with it quickly. It's just audiobooks with extra steps, that's basically what they've invented here. It doesn't help them understand the words any better, in fact it seems like Sara had a good point in that it'd probably make a child's pace even slower while reading because they'll be worried too much about the animation and not with the words they're reading.

Before Touker spoke, I thought selling *something* in children books sections was the right way to do it. You can have a dozen preview leaflets that when purchased the cashier either give them an activation code or take their email address for it to be sent to; you charge 1-2 pounds extra for a leaflet (than an app alone).

too many colours, sounds, and movement, this is literally what is wrong with kids shows, cocomelon channel alone was found to have devastating effect on kids.

No chance. The business model doesn't work. And 5% of children? They're joking, they'd be lucky to reach 0.1% of children with this. And this is ridiculously over valued. Total idiots to refuse investment. Even if it's a growing market, there will be many failures. This will likely be one of them. There is no evidence they're going to succeed at all. Doubt they get this off the ground. It was a fair offer from Touker for once. Should have taken the money.

Biggest mistake of their lives. Could have been millionaires in a few years, they won't achieve anything by themselves. If the idea works, Google or some other major company will do it. Also, 'Smart Books Make Smart Kids' should not have a comma...

Most schools give children free online access to books. The school pays, (eg razkids) the children have free access that books at any level. This doesn't work.
