    Wouldn't you normally be taking it out over the toilet, not lying down? Then the angle would end up quite different from how it's show here

      @corneliastreets Рік тому +70

      Her tips are still accurate. She advises to angle up when removing it, and over the toilet doing so allows the disc to come out flat like a drawer instead of tipped so less or no blood will get all over your hands.

      I think its a good idea for guys to know this stuff. I heard many stories of single dads unable to help their daughters with puberty or male teachers not letting their students go to the washroom on their period. Men will always have to interact with women and people who menstrate, its good to know how periods work to help someone who needs help.

    I have been wearing cups/discs for years. My very first cup became stuck and I couldn’t remove it after 12 hours of trying. It was awful and I ended up going to the dr. I learned that I have a high cervix and short fingers. I started using cups with a loop and have been fine for almost 5 years. I’m currently trying not to have a panic attack because I cannot get my hello disc out. I must have accidentally tucked the loop in when inserting it. I can just barely reach the rim of the disc with my middle finger. Bearing down has not moved it at all. I can only get my fiber on the outside of the rim and can’t get ahold of it. Has anyone had this happen?

    • @sync8263
      @sync8263 Рік тому +4

      If you haven’t used it yet, try not to worry! Removal will go perfectly fine! Try to stay relaxed and don’t panic if it takes a couple tries to remove it. Most cups can be worn up to 12 hours, so if it’s your first time removing and you’re anxious about the time frame, try removing a little earlier than that.
      Discs can shift higher when you’re sleeping, for example, so don’t worry if it feels like it’s moved higher when you go to remove it. That’s normal.

    • @bubblespopping2193
      @bubblespopping2193 Рік тому

      I bought it too! I haven't gone back to tampons since😄It is daunting at first like all cups/discs. Just make sure when you push it in to use a little lube or the residue period blood. When pushing it inside, make sure the front of disc is tucked behind the pelvic bone and the back of the disc is behind your uterus opening. You can feel it yourself with your fingers beforehand to see where it all is. You got this! Best of luck fellow disc wearer😁

Then started trying cups 1 year ago and have found my Goldilocks cup. Now I’m looking for my favorite disc. When you start and put a disc in how do you clean up the excess on the inside, where it doesn't make a mess on your panties, when there is no time for a shower? • @sync8263
      @sync8263 Рік тому +4

      Yes it’s safe to wear them doing gymnastics. They might shift a little higher depending on how you’re moving but they can’t get lost in there and they won’t hurt you. If they shift, just “push” like you would when you’re using the bathroom, hold the push, and reach for the disc. It should move down so you can hook it with a finger and remove it. If it takes a couple tries, don’t panic. Staying relaxed makes removal a lot easier.

    Hi I was hopeful that this is the right place for my questions lol. I have recently had my second period after the birth of my son. He's nearly 5m. He's my second child. After my first I went up a size for my menstrual cup. I don't recall leakage while I slept. I tried the same cup for my first period last month. It wouldn't sit right, basically it was slipping out. Used pads and ordered a bigger size. But had major leaking with it last night. I emptied before bed. Now I understand that periods are irregular at this time, but will it become less heavy in time?
    I have been using a cup for about 10 years. I like my cups lol but I have to admit I still don't feel like this one fits great. I feel like my stick to pull it out is poking my inner lower front wall. Will my vagina shrink anymore or do I need a bigger cup or perhaps I should try a disc?
    Sorry this is long. But I could really do with some advice.
    Oh not sure if it helps but both births ended up being c section after dilating fully but unsuccessful for natural.

      Congratulations on your baby! You may want to try a firmer cup. In my experience with having children my period did go back to normal, and after my second child actually got shorter. But, of course everyone is different. I’d recommend researching which cups are the firmest and order one in the larger size option. Is this safe? Having to pull like that? What about vaginal prolapse? Some belgium websites say the menstruation cup can cause this. This disc looks to have an even higher chance of doing this??

    Some things just aren't meant for unsolicited mass media distribution. How to hygenically manage menstrual cycle bleeding would top that list in my opinion. 😕

      And how exactly do you think people are going to learn? Not from prudish parents too ashamed to talk about periods with their kids, and not from schools that barely scratch the surface of period education.

      Because if you have a heavy period, like me, this thing is a lifesaver. Saves me time, embarrassment, and money. I used to have to sleep in one position at night and not move or risk leaking all over my sheets. I would also have to change a pad at least every two hours. This thing has changed my life.

      Yuck? You know what’s “yuck?” Having such a heavy period that you soak through pads in two hours or less. This product has saved my life after having kids. I used to not be able to even sleep through the night or I would leak all over my bed. Could only sleep in one position and lay still. I can go a full 12 hours with this thing even on my heavy days, where it’ll dump on its own when I use the restroom, if it’s full. Don’t shame something that you have no idea about. It is saving a lot of people embarrassment, time, and money.

      Fuck off. Women have to deal with their periods every month and it sucks! I would much rather use this which is, safer, more comfortable, better for the environment, and much less money. If you can’t “handle” Womens menstruation then what can you handle because it’s completely natural.
