A lot of people try spicing up finger style arrangements with stuff that’s just not there. You execute exactly what is needed to still express the intended emotion of the original performances. I forget it what arrangement it was, but I listened and studied and analyzied and came to my own private conclusion that it is Kent's micro-rhythms that make him stand out. You've heard of Adele singing micro-tonalities, I'm convinced that Kent is beyong brilliant in time. Wait, I do remember, as I write this, it was a Pink Floyd arrangement, maybe a solo to Comfortably Numb. It was that he recreated the imprecise and floating rhythm of Gilmour -- there were pauses that stretched and rhythms that accelerated, but it was also intentional and unwaivering, even in it's drift. Okay, I'm babbling now, but I'm glad you called this out and I agree 1000%
For a few seconds I thought he had cheated by adding some drum kick until I noticed the wrist. Never seen percussive fingerpicking (wristpicking?) like this. Stunning
