This video saved me... was about to give up and order a parts kit for the carb, but then you got to the part about the needle guide under the slide, and I remembered I heard something fall when I first took off the float bowl while carb was attached to the motor... It was under the starter! She rides fine now. Thanks a million!
That helped. I like the wire brush bristle trick. I did not know about the needle centering fitting. I was lucky that mine did not fallout when I had the motion tube removed. Now I will take it out and make sure it is clean. My needle was really dirty with black tar in that area.

I had to get a really small brass wire brush wire and ram it through with hemostats. I was surprised it worked but it did.
