Hi Mike, maybe you can set the base noise just above the bottom of the waterfall and set the range to 60 or 50dB with the contrast set fairly high and the background so you you can just see the noise appearing. This will give you the finest detail available to detect even the smalest signals. Also do not forget to set the S-meter to be more accurate. My experience goes back to 2004 and have used Winrad since its early days. This was the mother program of which HDSDR is the offspring. I use SDR-cosole to get the most out of my sdr's, but that another matter. Good luck and thanks for the video.
It's still tricky... You can click calculate when changes are right for several times. Each time the calculated result changes (both of the high and low values reduce), and the needle seems to swing less.
Thanks so much for this excellent video, Mike! You provide a wealth of details here. I tried clicking on the link above to get your freqs list, but there's a prompt there for a decryption key.
Thank you for such nice presentation. I have an RSP2 and I like SDRuno a lot, but I'm always on the lookout to try other software. I've just acquired an Airspy HF+ Discovery and have failed to run it with SDRuno. I found SDR# very weak compared to SDRuno, so I thought about HDSDR which from your video appears to be more complete. I miss synch detect though. 73! PY5136SWL
Hi Mike, I just got my RSP1A and started playing around with SDRuno and now HDSDR. Can you explain why you always offset the LO frequency from the desired tune frequency? I've been watching your SDRuno series, but didn't see an explanation. 73's
Hi Dale, this video explains a bit more about the local oscillator (LO) and why it should be offset from the tuning frequency - ua-cam.com/video/Fsns4P3JxrM/v-deo.html
Hey Mike, could I have your freq list? rwprime1 gmail Thanks Off subject questions: 1. Why does one use VB-Cable and not just use 'Stereomix'? Is it because the audio is over USB? 2. Is VB-Cable the same thing as VSPE or Com0com
Great video, HDSDR will compliment the new SDRplay RSP1A I just bought today.
Flattery will get you nowhere. The correct word is complement. 😁
Thanks for the great video and the HF frequency list
Thank you very much for the nice presentation. Keep up the good work ;)
excellent presentation
Does anyone know how to get rid of the waterfall?

Not sure of the difference... They should both work well. (You could ask the question on this HDSDR Facebook group: facebook.com/groups/HDSDR )

Units are good but beware of the distributors. The one in Canada is to be avoided. Order direct from SDRplay or get burned like I did.
