The absolute greatest thing about SOS and classics like You On My Mind is that the band always manages to take each live performance and renditions of these hits above and beyond the original versions. It's mildly shocking to realize these songs are now nearly 30 years old and they still sound fun, fresh and vital. And for those who have seen them perform live, they are simply phenomenal! Classy and flawless are just some of the words I can describe Corinne, Andy and their live and studio band. I loved them back in '86. And I love them even more now. And that is HUGE!
Great review of this underrated band. I was 14 when their hit "Breakout" hit the airwaves here in the states sometime during the fall of '87. I only knew of that hit, but knew I liked their sound, and it remained one of my favorites until 2005 when UA-cam was in its infancy. That's when I discovered what I'd been missing all my life. Their sound is so cosmopolitan and timeless. This performance is incredible. I hope that a clear recording of this is released.
@@RazorFriendly Thank you! When you get the chance, try to get the CD of "Live At The Jazz Cafe." It's only available as a Japanese import, but may be available elsewhere as a download or bootleg version. It's a great live show and a great-sounding recording. I saw them live both in Los Angeles and San Diego in the late 90's/early 2000's and in both cases, they bring a horn section with them. In the San Diego show, Andy was absent and according to Corinne, he doesn't like to tour. And it's rare enough that they do, especially in the U.S.
Way back 90' I watched SOS' concert in Manila. superb performance by Corrine Drewery and the band! T'was a fantastic night! The following day I got a memo coz' I was absent on my night shift.
They always look like they are having lots of fun doing their tunes. This is what the world is supposed to be like. Meaningful tunes, whimsical, slices of life.
The last words sang on this number are "Your Heart Blames It On You This Time" which are lyrics taken from Stevie Wonder's "Blame It On The Sun". This is a fab fab fab version of an ace ace ace song
I’ve always dreamt of having my wedding reception at the Netherland Plaza in Cincinnati, and have SOS as the entertainment. It would be a memorable evening.
hello giorgio - can you tell me the name of the second singer/vocalist ? Can you also tell me the names of the rhythm section? Thanks for this wonderful video! I love this song !!

Just don't get any better. Purely beautiful.
Always liked the blend of 5th Dimension, Sergio Mendes, Herb Albert vibe to this tune.
Remind me of one of a beautiful song title " Up, Up and Away in my Beautiful Balloon. " I've always loved that song !!!
Great description ☺️☺️☺️
Very yes on the 5th Dimension + Sergio Mendez vibe that they bring.
I think it has a little bit of Barry Gray Orchestra to it, you could imagine them performing it in a fancy bar in Thunderbirds.
I remember Corinne saying that they were influenced by John Barry of James Bond fame.
let's all take a moment to acknowledge the lady playing the congas, her energy is really contagious.
Jody Linscott--loved her since she was in Kokomo in the '70s.

Wow.
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Although the video is pro shot, the audio sounds like an audience bootleg. A good audience bootleg but too bad it's not soundboard.
S.O.S😘👍
gran cancion
It's there a recording this with close mics?
Oh Yeah
Swing Out Sister
Far better style of music than the rubbish of this Century
What would we consider, this “genre” of music?
Is this available as a DVD?
gentillyguy1 i don't know about dvd but I've the cd "Private View" (2012) with big band: just perfect!
already got a ticket for Manila leg of their concert..then the pandemic came.
Prince William at the drums.
🤣 Hilarious !
The Band , Too Tuff
The Vocals too low
I Love Swing out Sister
This is great video but they sound like they are playing through a tin can.
I'm thinking of letting Jody Linscot being the mother of my next child
Still not as good as BIRD
this version lacks power
