People often say that, but that only comes from the Dan Harmon-Chevy Chase rift. And that rift happened because both Dan and Chevy had been childish and unprofessional on the show, and they were both dicks. Joel McHale said Chevy didn't want to be in the show. But that was the worst I've ever heard said about him by the cast. Donald Glover said that it seemed Chevy was fighting time, which for him shouldn't be the case for an artist. Danny Pudi said that Chevy probably doesn't even know his name, which is a bit, because there are panels wherein Chevy calls Danny by his full name. Chevy Chase didn't connect often with the cast and writers, which is why Joel says he was very negative on the set. He couldn't stand nor understand the ungodly hours (16-17 hours a day, 5 days a week) for a 30-minute episode. He didn't understand meta humor, because of the gap in generational comedy. He didn't feel like he was being heard by the staff and the cast. He couldn't always follow the script, because there was something bound to be changed frequently and quickly. The show relies and adlibs heavily on our pop culture, which is not something his generation is knowledgeable with. And he didn't like where his character was being taken, because Pierce was becoming more and more dislikeable. You'll understand what he said about the character, because Pierce became extremely villainous and slapstick. The sabotage happened with Chang and Britta, too. Dan Harmon even apologized to Gillian Jacobs publicly for what happened to Britta. Dan Harmon thought Chevy was an asshole. And he was, because Chevy did tend toward empty, arrogant humor, even cursing unnecessarily. He also liked non-PC humor. Which is not to say that he was the only one on the set who did. You wouldn't think non-PC humor is funny as satire if you didn't have a little non-PC humor in you. Dan Harmon had been quoted saying Chevy Chase told Donald Glover that he was only funnier cause he was black. I recall watching an earlier interview of this long ago, wherein Donald said he told Dan Harmon that he was over whatever Chevy said. Joel said in another interview that Chevy said some things that "could be deemed racist”. Dan Harmon, because of Chevy's dickishness, thought it would be funny to call him out by having people chant "Fuck you” to him in a wrap party that Chevy's family attended. In response, Chevy left him an irate voicemail, which Dan again thought was hilarious enough to share with staff and fans on meets and cons. Whatever Dan thought about Chevy though, he was an executive producer who felt entitled to humiliate a cast member by having groups of people rise up against him. His answer to Chevy being an ass was to become an even bigger ass. He estranged Chevy farther from the cast, because he was the type of person to take things too far. He took jokes and whatever to the extreme with both staff and executives, like "push now, apologize later". He made Megan Ganz miserable on the set, because she wouldn't reciprocate his attentions, because she felt that his attentions as her boss ran over her confidence in her talents and career. He also suffered from alcoholism and obsession, hence their long hours on set. His toxicity on the set eventually got him fired. I mean, Dan Harmon is an awesome creator, but he can really be a difficult person. He got his job back because Joel and the other staff lobbied for his return. Chevy resigned mid-Season 4. There's something to be said in lasting that long with a producer he didn't like and who didn't like him; scripts he didn't understand often; writers and co-cast members he didn't connect with; and a character he liked less and less. He tried very hard. But he did his job very well. Like most of the people behind Community, he really saw the show as a labor of love. There is one panel wherein he says that the audience couldn't have nor wish for a better cast for the show, and that his co-workers were a step-up for him. Joel McHale still keeps communication with him. He has stories about Chevy in his stand-ups. He even played young Chevy in a movie, with Chevy's blessing. I was disappointed no one got Chunky A. Those songs were funny to kid me.
I would definitely play Fletch the video game.
Chevy looks like he hates his life and these people which he does
"All I can think of is fletch" 😂
Im in love with gillian
The only answer I got was Wyld Stallyns.
me too
My favorite part of this video was having absolutely no idea what they were saying the entire time. Not a single clue.
People need to interact with others of the same age, that's why Arrested Development stayed in air for so many years.
Uh, just 3 seasons. They did have season 4,5.. after a while and they sucked.
Only knew The Wild Stallions.. everything else..
everybody is exactly like their charecter exept abed
Sprocket and Sweet Valley High were the only two that I knew. :(
Chevy looks like he doesn’t want to be there!!!!!!!
Man I didn't know like any of these
Yeah this was incredibly hard, I can't believe how often they knew the answers. They even knew how much money Julia Roberts got paid for some role I already forgot, and they're probably not even friends with her.
I'm Australian and too young for all their references so same hahaha
Dionysian I honestly think this is set up .. Actors (even these ones) are usually pretty dumb .. Chevy is pissed off cos he’s the only one who wasn’t given the answers
Danny called Chevy eldritch Lmfao
