  • This is the first video in a series about our RK 25 tractor. It explains how to disconnect the loader and install the mower deck. We realized there isn't a lot of helpful material or "How To" videos on RK 25 tractors. We hope these videos will help others when questions arise.

Good video. I have an RK24 and a NEVER used finish mower. I like the mid mount mower. Looks more maneuverable than the finish mower that trails behind you.

Thank you so much. I’ve been struggling myself very much looking for an easy way to attach my mower I have a TYM254 hydrostatic which I believe is the same machine you have.

Thank you! I work at a TYM authorized seller and there are no instructions and no one would show me how to install this for a customer. Super frustrating!

Thank you for posting this video. It was very useful and answered most of my questions regarding installation of the mower deck. One thing I did not catch in the video is whether or not you had to remove the front end loader in order to mount and use the mower. Will the mower work with the front end loader attached? I have an RK25 on order, and am waiting for a third function valve to be installed on it. I will be getting the front end loader, backhoe, and mower deck for it, along with several other implements in the future, and although I'm relatively familiar with this tractor, I am not sure about the front end loader question mentioned above.

Thanks so much for this video...I'm going to order this tractor and was contemplating getting the belly mower. After watching your video I'm scratching that idea and keeping my old 30 year woods rotary mower. I mow with my loader always attached. You look 40 years younger than me and can manage this crazy system every time you want to mow. No kidding you kept me from making a big mistake..thanks !!!

Have you ever had an issue with the pto lever? We switch from M to M+R to R and it always raises the belly mower and Rear together no matter what setting the lever is on. Great video Thanks!!

The only issue I’ve had is actually switching the lever. Sometimes it gets jammed because the gears aren’t lined up just right. Usually if you drive a few feet that will free that issue up. The three positions on the lever only control which shaft is spinning, the tractor will always have the belly raise with the 3 point. With this being my first tractor I’m just going off of my personal two years of experience with it! I hope this helps!

The belly mower is attached to the rear three point hitch, so that the mower height can be adjusted by using the rear hitch. The PTO lever only controls which PTO is powered. The rear hitch is raised and lowered by the hydraulic system, not the PTO. Because the belly mower is connected to the rear hitch through the mounting bracket, the PTO has nothing to do with raising or lowering the mower deck.

The pto should go on easier by putting the pto control in the rear position, and the mid pto will be in neutral, allowing you to spin it to align easier than trying to spin the implement.

Nice video. I ordered an RK 25 a few days shy of 6 months ago. It’s finally at the store but been waiting again for some mechanic to check it.

Good luck! I can’t complain much! For the price they really are great units, even if the mower deck isn’t all that “quick attach” lol

Thanks so much for the video! Bought a RK24 used. Had no idea how to disconnect the front in loader. So helpful. Bought and installed deck afterwards. Little bit different. I'm having an issue raising mine to the top, 3 and 4, positions. Luckily position #2 is about right for me. Bent both tie rods adjusting nut past 25mm from end trying to get deck to raise all the way up to #4. Still works. Anyway, really appreciate the video.

No problem! Thank you for watching! I still have issues getting the deck height right and I could nitpick rk parts dept all day long but other than that and some junk speakers I still love it 😂

Think I will just buy a flail mower for the 3 PNT after watching that hassle

Not a bad idea. Honestly if we had more space we probably would have considered that too.

    Hi,
I have a similar model tractor the Branson 2505. I struggled with driving over the mower deck so I made a couple of ramps out of some 2*6 I had. Three stacked worked fine for the machine to drive up and over. To line up that dam shaft, I used the same ramp to help hold the quick connect shaft up to the same level as the pto shaft.

Thanks an awesome idea! Never thought of that. I’ll definitely have to look into it.
