- Rotterdam is the second largest city in The Netherlands and it is a major port city in the Dutch province of South Holland. Most of the city's architecture is bold, modern and completely reconstructed since the majority of the city was leveled during World War II. The oldest origins of Rotterdam (de Stadsdriehoek or City Triangle) were bombed away, but that large quarters there around survived the war.

I love the way old is blended with the new
and the fact that the tall buildings are not all jammed together in one place.
I also like the green areas surrounding the streetcars.
The new has completely destroyed what little remained of a once beautiful and charming city. The new buildings make me want to puke.

It took a while and hard work but finally Rotterdam is been noticed. Beeing bombed during the second world war it took years of rebuilding the city to what it is now. And it is still in proces! That's the most exiting thing about it. You can see a city being built in front of your own eyes! And they still ain't finished yet
There's a construction boom going on in Rotterdam right now. 6 new skyscrapers under construction, one of which will be 215 meters tall
The place needs to be completely demolished and rebuilt properly so that it looks like it actually belongs with the rest of the country. If Rotterdam was on the German border, I'd gladly give it to them.

Buenísimo el documental, la música muy buena que permite realzar muy bien los paisajes.
Estuve en abril de este año, es hermoso Rotterdam, me llevé una gran sorpresa porque estando en Ámsterdam me decían que no valia la pena el viaje porque era una ciudad poca cálida, para nada es muy interesante y gracias por este video que me permite recordar sus paisajes

What makes the most beautiful cities is the capacity to mix modern and old tastefully. Because of the WW2 Rotterdam has hardly any old, so it was easier for Rotterdam to build a beautiful new city and mix it with the few old buildings that were left. Amsterdam buildings were saved during WW2 and they have difficulty mixing old and new, that often makes it ugly. It will take a long time before Amsterdam can clean up the ugly sores between the old buildings.

I live in Belgium and Rotterdam is only about 90 minutes from my home. I didn’t go there since a long time because I remembered an industrial port really not attractive. Transforming Rotterdam into the bum hole of Europe shows a complete lack of respect for the past. The only thing Dutch remaining in Rotterdam is the weather.
