This I a great video, thank you. Handy tips on knots, great product and you actually pitched it in the woods, rather than in your back garden like most do!!
You've got the best gear and best instructions in the world, this one and the anchoring in a storm video. I've got the 10ul tarp, rajd (which everyone is copying now) and nallo 3, I've previously owned the nallo 4, staika and unna and never had any problems. There isn't anything that compares keep it up and thanks!
I've owned a fantastic UL10 Hilleberg tarp for a while now but never realized all the handy uses of a versatile tarp like this. I've only been using it as a cover for hammock camping, but now I want to try out some of the other interesting setups shown in this video like the hiking pole tent!
Good tarp, though it could have used a loop in the absolute centre for hoisting it up under a tree in a clearing . I've been trying to add one using epoxy glue (loctite which was the only glue i found that didn't react/damage the tarp), but the glue wont stick to the Tarp. Any tips on doing this is welcome.
Might use a small round stone under the tarp fabric ... and loop cord around stone/fabric on the top side. Easy lift with no damage to the tarp fabric.
If it is a silpoly or silnylon tarp, then GE Silicone should work. If it is sealed with PU (polyurethane), then the Loctite Vinyl, Fabric & Plastic flexible adhesive should work. I've used the Loctite on my PU sealed tarp.
Will your UL products stand up against sparks? Used your XT tarp with open fire for a few years, now got myself a rajd. Wondering if it is a good idea to use it near the fireplace, like 3 meters away...
Hey next time you make a video you should talk in stead of using captions it takes away from use watching what your doing . Most of us would like to watch the video once in stead of twice.
Delta Depends on where you are camping (longitude) Up north there are no ticks :-) Of, course; really up north there's no threes - so how do you set up the tarp then?
We have no ticks around the blueberry bushes. Ticks prefer long grass. Only thing you'll end up with is a billion mosquito bites + the occasional spider bite. Regardless, use a net and cover yourself when in nature.
andrew rushton I have used tarps for over 50 years, all the ways in your video, plus a bunch. Winds get them bucking, dropping poles, then the real fun begins. Of course, you could guy them tight, and watch the grommets pop out when the gusts hit. Tarps strong enough to resist gusts weigh a ton. Tarps have their place, but they suck in strong wind that blows rain nearly horizontal, especially when the wind gets squirrely and comes from all directions. They let bugs in. If you carry a tarp and a net, you might as well have an ultralight tent.

Do they make hot tents?? Would really be interested in knowing if so and where I can get one in the U.S.A.
They make absolutely splendid tents.. 👌
Bring your own heat, and everything should be fine 😏
Nice.
What is the brand of jacket that the actor is wearing?
The jacket is from Swedish manufacturer Klattermusen.
Which Klattermusen? Brede?
They have changed their line a bit so this exact jacket is no longer available.

Great for calm days. But when the wind blows, it becomes a great big sail and then…………………..
Not if you set it up correctly
