suddenly, after eleven years, this song popped into my head. I had to look through old Facebook statuses. I had forgotten who sang it. Very touching to hear it again
It's based on the theory Wolff's Law, which states that a bone will strengthen over time to adapt to pressure put on it. Applied to a relationship, the song is about the strengthening of love between two people that comes from the struggles between them as they face challenges in their relationship together.
This song was playing while I crossed the finish of my first marathon in 2016. I was overwhelmed and wept for many reasons. 13 marathons later I still have this song on my playlist because it gives me an incredible shot of needed strength.I could never thank this band enough for the joy they have given me, or all of us.
A "good" video is sort of an oxymoron because the visuals rob the music listener of forming their own pictures and interpretations in their mind while REALLY listening. Something that is now lost to so many since the advent of videos.
How can a band make a song and video so moving that I feel like I'm standing in the middle of the forest, looking around at the plants and animals in their natural daily living and see it as something heavenly, crying my eyes out as my heart swells? (Also, major props to them for adding a natural childbirth to the video. I know that it isn't dirty or traumatizing, and actually really beautiful, but others might get grossed out by the visuals.)
Something about this song made me bawl like a baby when I saw them play it live. I noticed the big burly bloke standing next to me was wiping away the tears, too :-)
WOW !!!!!!! This formidable band is showing the world the beauty of life. I want to see this on a big screen ! Watch this every day and you won't get depressed.....
Tell me the way you've been (so long) I want to go along and pretend that it's dawn That's the start not the close I'm your friend not your post We're under Wolf's Law Another new scene that flies Another empty picture for this collage of mine Want to pull it back And pretend that it's dark That we made it here unharmed I'm your friend not your guard And we're under Wolf's Law I'll take the gambling way Let's send it spiraling Just to visit that box Don't wait, let's go, go, go Don't wait, let's go, go, go #danthemanplaylists
Maybe it's me age but I find this track profoundly moving, uplifting, melancholic and immensely fulfilling all at the same time.....except I could listen to another minute or two. This band are going to be big, especially live, I think. Check out some other of their songs. Fantastic!
I'm in tears. The song and the video. It has to be the song and the video together. It makes you feel sooo much in such a short period of time. A rollercoaster of beautiful emotions. It's like this is earth where we live and all that we can experience and all the surging magnificence that we miss out on. I long for more of it. That's how you know a piece of art is well composed. So beautiful...
The singer opts for "the gambling way," which may not be easier but will make what the two lovers have stronger. She can't ignore the bad things they've gone through, the way she's been hurt, but she wants them to move forward and knows they'll be better for the pain they've experienced together.
I can not stop watching this and listening to the song! They sound amazing live, too! Finally a band with true talent and passion for their music. No cookie cutter-shit here! The video is so emotional to me because it makes me feel deep inside about life and how precious it really is and that it is the little things we need to appreciate, not material, not status,& protect natural beauty.Every song is poetry to my ears & somehow they find a way to touch my soul and spirit with their music as well.
Beautiful symbology of a magnificent and simple 'reality' just being re-figured out. Be welcome aboard ... or take your time ... departures happen when we're ready.
This song gives me goosebumps even before it starts to play, just knowing I am going to hear Ritzy's voice, and see what she/they the band see beyond music, pure inspiration.
I love it, thank you! TJF is one of the best young bands the world has to offer. Or at least one of my favorites. This video is cinematography 101, amazing b&w tribute to Life. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
What a life-affirming, wonderful song and video. It is a celebration of striving, trying, living in a vast, beautiful space we call the universe. The crescendo at the end is delicious.
yea i still like it. i love piano and her vocals. it just gave me the sensation like... you know how you have to yawn but it wont come out so you wait for it and it never happens. I had that feeling.
only 229,953 view??? What has the world become? When you see millions of hits for other wretched videos, it makes you sick, when you see something so beautiful as this.
Verity - ye brought this to me and it's one of the most beautiful things you could ever have done. I thank you. This video - it's life - it's the fundamental expression of life and the one who put this together has the awareness of it. Profound perfection
I agree with the consensus that this is a special video. If you like this, you will probably like these radiolab video productions as well. Enjoy if you decide to watch them. Radiolab symmetry Radiolab moments

Hooded Violin *you're

A "good" video is sort of an oxymoron because the visuals rob the music listener of forming their own pictures and interpretations in their mind while REALLY listening. Something that is now lost to so many since the advent of videos.
This is the most beautiful music video I've seen. And the music itself is incredible. It's the kind of music that makes your heart pound, you know?
Beautiful and powerful. The Joy Formidable.
That does kind of sum them up. Amazing, too.
The song without the video: Incomplete.
The song with the video: One of the most beautiful things i've ever seen.
This is still one of the most beautiful videos ever made!
How does it not have a billion views? The world just forgot I guess. Sad.
I can't tell this feeling in words, but this song makes me cry
Moving. Touched. Heartwarming. Awe.
I recall when this song was used in the season 4 trailer of Downton Abbey and everyone was trying to figure out who sang it!

I had to search for the meaning of the expression "Wolff's Law". Wow... this insight gives the music and the video much more depth.
This song's just had me in tears.
It's been a long week. Ive been listening to a few songs to unwind, but it was this song that did it
Hopefully it’s been getting better…
speechless.. THIS IS ART. MUSIC. LIFE...
happy tears from me! Thank you TJF
Best way for me to describe their music:
Always have a way of getting to my soul, yanking it out of my body and taking it for a ride.
Something about this song made me bawl like a baby when I saw them play it live. I noticed the big burly bloke standing next to me was wiping away the tears, too :-)

I want to go along and pretend that it's dawn
That's the start not the close
I'm your friend not your post
We're under Wolf's Law
Another new scene that flies
Another empty picture for this collage of mine
Want to pull it back
And pretend that it's dark
That we made it here unharmed
I'm your friend not your guard
And we're under Wolf's Law
I'll take the gambling way
Let's send it spiraling
Just to visit that box
Don't wait, let's go, go, go

downton abbey made me download all of wolf's law so joy formidable fans should be thankful :) loving this stuff
This world is a truly beautiful thing... So why are we destroying it?
Because some of human beings suck.
that's what humans do....sad
It's resilient. It will destroy us before we completely destroy it.
These 4min were easily the best on the album; definitely deserved to be it's own track.
...The title says "Wolf's Law". On the album, it starts at about 5:32 on "Turnaround".
I can not stop watching this and listening to the song! They sound amazing live, too! Finally a band with true talent and passion for their music. No cookie cutter-shit here!
