The video is excellent. I have just changed the screen by my self and saved 70euros. In greece the screen monitor came without the back case. So I had to do a little extra work. But the final result is excellent. Thank you for the very explanative video.

Thank you for this great video! I just changed the screen on my phone myself. A little tip for those who don’t have a suction cup for the battery - I took regular sewing thread, folded it four times and, adding alcohol, cut the battery from the case

I used an old credit card sized plastic card like a membership card. Once soaked in alcohol and left for 5-10mins, as per these instructions, you can slide it from the bottom, and the card is flexible enough to bend under the battery. You continue to push allowing you separate the battery from the screen.

Quite straightforward then really. This has been the only Samsung phone product that I rate. I have had this phone for, what, 2 years, only when I accidentally accepted a phone update, after leaving it for 18 months, did my phone start to slow down and cause issues, to the point where my patience wavered and that screen got bust.
Now the phone before the "Samsung" update had no problems, what so ever. Nothing wrong with it at all, but as soon as that update went on, that I had avoided downloading since its first update, some 18 odd months ago, then the phone is basically junk.
The only reason I accidentally updated, was the phone was being a bit laggy and I had accidentally clicked on the update button. So it then went and updated, and since then, the phone has been pretty useless.
I RECOMMEND people NOT, I repeat, NOT to download updates onto your phone. It wrecked mine to the point where I ended up breaking it myself through frustration of how slow the phone become and how each time software updates, whether on a phone or computer, are done to wreck your machine, so you end up having to buy a new one.
I will give Samsung this though, it was not a forced update, and it had been sitting on my phone for 18 months. So it is not like Microsoft, who will be intrusive and force control mechanised updates onto your computer.
My advice, really good phone, better than these £1000 phones, the Samsung A13 is exceedingly reliable, a very good phone, up until you UPDATE it, then you might as well throw it away.

Thanks for the video. Was very helpful. I got the battery out by using blow dryer. And mine had some heat sinks that I transferred. A few other small differences. In hind site, I should have snaped some pictures of mine before taking it all the way apart.

I’m glad it helped. Sometimes I have to look back on my own recordings to remember where stuff went or which way round some components are

As I got to the step to remove the battery, it began going "Pffffffffffftt!" Smoke everywhere, then flames shot out of I guess the battery. I had been working on a wooden desk, quickly knocked to the floor, where it then set a rug on fire. I have no idea what the issue was, but this Samsung battery started a large fire, burned holes in a rug, stunk up my house, luckily I was right near it when this happened. No clue why. Threw the smoking phone & battery out my door onto the wet lawn.

      OH NO!!!!
In all honesty, I've set a fire when I first started working at iDoctor by piercing the battery when using metal tools,
you sound like you were a lot calmer than myself!!!

BEWARE- Stating, 'Be sure to refasten anything else' is insufficient and he does not tell you to take out the volume control of the old unit if your new one does NOT contain one. Thankfully the trash had not gone out and I fished about in there for the old screen, removed the volume control and reinstalled in the new one. Great video otherwise.
