Yet the sounds from this recording took me right back to sitting in that boat, and I can picture every bit of the ride in my mind's eye, just as it was, as if I'd been at Disneyland yesterday. All those pictures sat in storage on my mind's hard drive, and were instantly accessed again with the prompting of the soundtrack. Amazing.

@@tcraiford I do like the bayou, but I enjoy the eeriness of the mermaid scene. However, since WDW's has been basically diminished to nothing at this point - No more mermaids, no more song, no more mist waterfall, no more Davy Jones and Blackbeard monologuing, I'd totally take any sort of update to ours. For Disneyland, what would be super awesome is have the bayou at the beginning like normal, then after the first drop, have the mermaid scene and the dark scarier scene, then go down the second drop and continue as is. That would be a perfect mix.

I remember hearing the "dead men tell no tales" from a distance and when you got up to that part you'd go down that small drop and then to the left you'd see the big pirate ship. Good times when going to Disney wasn't house rent, but just fun

We were in the boat, the whole family riding through the bayou, when I smelled a not so familiar smell. The people sitting right behind me were smoking pot.
Yeah I know, I wish they’d take Jack Sparrow and the movie references out of the ride entirely, it is much better that way. The movies aren’t even that good anyway!

You do know that this is California's (Disneyland's) Pirates, and not Florida's (Walt Disney World's)? You have a picture of the Florida attraction, but it's the California audio.

I was so excited for the movies, then I heard they got producer Michael Bay and I lost hope. Then I saw the movies and was extremely disappointed, as I was hoping to experience the same feelings from the movies as I felt on the ride. Once I got over that, I realized the movies were all that bad. The second one is the closest I came to feeling that feeling, and was probably the best of the films.

The smell of the water actually comes from a chemical that substitutes chlorine called broncium which is what gives it that interesting smell
