Holy cow man congrats. When submitting to PSA. is the "card declared value" what the card would be raw or if it were also graded? New to the hobby and have some nice cards I want to submit. Thanks!
Thanks! So declared value is kind of a discretionary thing, it's basically what you think the card will be worth after being graded. I usually declare my cards at what a PSA 9 would comp for, and PSA is pretty lenient with upcharges for the most part. If the maximum declared value is $199 and you get a PSA 10 that's worth $275, odds are you're in the clear. If it's an egregiously valuable card, there's a higher possibility of an upcharge but at that point the extra cost doesn't bother me because the value gained is exponential.
@@pdxwax Thanks for the quick and detailed response, I appreciate it. No crazy cards on my end just yet, but good to know. Always wondered why shops will have PSA 9's priced essentially at what they graded it at, but it's starting to make sense.
@@pdxwax yea that one will probably drop for the time being but if he comes out swinging and playing really good next year that can sky rocket then might be worth selling other wise a super cool pc for long term
@@pdxwax yea I think people were dramatic last year we started 8-0 beating teams like the kings and injuries hurt us bad we lost like 30 games by 1-3 points haha
@@TravisJCollinsyeah I think our record wasn’t truly indicative of what we were cause of injuries & then sitting everyone/tanking but we definitely need to get some size/defense. Who knows what happens w/ Dame, don’t want him to bounce but we ain’t competing for a chip any time soon. We’ll see what happens today in free agency 🤷🏽♂️
Thanks for watching! I source mostly from eBay and card shows. I’ve graded for awhile now & have just gotten better at evaluating w/ experience. I use a microfiber cloth to clean my cards. Sometimes I use a magnifying glass but often just eyeball it.
Having familiarity w/ PSA’s guidelines, learning how to assess centering, edges, corners, surface, etc. That all comes w/ experience. Plus every grader has their own level of scrutiny, so there’s luck involved as well.
Do you pull these or are you able to find dealers who let you evaluate them before buying. Because honestly the quality of prizm is such junk that it's pretty tough to get that many good cards by just getting lucky opening packs.
I only pulled a few of these, most are sourced from eBay, a couple were purchased at shows. Shows are best obviously cause you can evaluate on site. As for eBay, the one plus is you can find the centered copies (and the ones with sharp corners to a certain extent). Surface can be a crapshoot on eBay though.
I would never mislead my viewers like that. Also, I posted a preview video for this sub before I sent the cards to PSA. And if you look at the certification numbers on the slabs, they are sequential.
Nice video. All about Sharpe, even as a Kings fan a lot of respect. Love the Murray❤
Much appreciated! Us Blazers fans need something to be excited about w/ all the tanking & Dame drama. Your Kings look legit!
You went crazy homie!
If only I could request this grader every time 🤣
@@pdxwax shoot, no kidding. I want your grader

Nice cards
Must have a family member working at PSA.
I wish. My grader was definitely in a good mood though
Hopefully he is grading my cards right now because I haven't had a good grader the last 2 times.@@pdxwax
Those shaedon sharpes😮
Right?! I’m tempted to keep ‘em all but I gotta pay off my grading fees haha. The auto is staying w/ me tho

How do you evaluate cards and how do you get your cards

How is that possible how do you tell if you should grade it?

I'm pretty sure he took out the bad grades. Any1 can you psa 10 cards. I got 20 to show.

My Keegan Murray silver was such nice condition and got a 9 sadly glad yours got a 10 🦾
That Keegan looked clean as hell to me too. Might be worth cracking!
@@pdxwax yea possible jumps from $30 to $200 for 10
