nobody else to expect it from but you, but this is the first time I heard a care guide refering to the minimum enclosure size and the saying you should strive to go much bigger. all the more reason to love your channel.
😮 !! There it is! Someone said how much veg they should be getting! All the forums I've joined just share photos of huge salads and that they should be having these huge salads every day. But they never say how much of that salad gets eaten. At first my dragon would eat the whole salad, but now he only eats part of it, or none at all. Thank-you!! Thank you so much!!!
I understand about tank size. I did purchase a 40-gallon tank for the baby bearded dragon. When he gets older he will go to a 120-gallon, and the 40-gallon will go to a baby leopard gecko.
Oh i love finding videos like these!! I turned 5ft x 5ft x 3ft of my bedroom into my bearded dragons "free roaming" cage. and i still think its too small for my rescue dragon, lol
Thank you for this video. It makes me feel better. The lady I recently got my juvenile from told me to feed him every other day. With all the information saying different things online I wasn’t sure if I was under feeding cause he acts hunger all the time even after eating. He isn’t picky at all thankfully. All her dragons looked very healthy and she does reptile educational events.
This makes sense.. I got mine 7 days ago and max he eated was 8 live insects at one day. I offer more cause i thought that he should be eating more, thank god he doesnt want more..but im struggling with vegg. He is 4m old and whatever I tried he just doesnt want to eat them.
The end of the video where you discussed the change of the season switching down the time lights around mid-October, and then going to summer changing the hours of sunlight, does this include juveniles 3-8months old?
It’s just wood from the garden really, in terms of waterproofing I would silicone the edges and then use yacht varnish on the bottom and sides up to where substrate would be.
My bearded dragon seems to be brumating (hiding, sleeping all day, the temperatures are colder and days shorter). I did feed my dragon a few days ago, however I haven't seen him poop. I am worried the food will rot in his stomach. What should I do?
Give him two weeks to digest at his full length day period and then after those 2 weeks begin the process laid out in our brumation guide. Hope that helps 😄
Helloo, awesome info!! Question? So for my 5 to 6 month old beardie, should i dial back to just feeding 5 insects a day? I usually feed him 25 dubias and 25 bsfl total of 50 insects daily. But it has been heavy on money hahalol
My new hypo trans 3 month old is not acting normally. I've got the lighting and heating as close to perfect as I can. She has been hiding all day, with closed eyes. She pooped yesterday, but not today. I offer fresh greens every day, but she has only eaten small dubias and crickets. I am worried about her😢
I’ve got two. They are doing the same exact things. I’ve got their tanks as close to perfect (as I think) as they say they should be. Still wanting to stay in hides. Im confused also. Good luck with yours!
New to the channel and am loving your videos. A couple questions, I recently got my bearded dragon and she’s a little overweight as a two year old. I was wondering how I could help her come back to healthy weight. Also, she spends all day on her basking spot and I check with a temperature gun regularly and it’s within the correct temperature range. you said this isn’t normal in the video? Could she just be particularly lazy? Haha
@@ReptilesandResearch I haven’t had a chance to weigh her as I got her three days ago and I was planning on giving her a week without handling her. She’s just quick pudgy along her sides compared to what I have researched to be a healthy bearded dragon weight. She is in 135 gallon tank with a basking spot range from 104° F to 108f it’s usually around 105 as surface temperature. That air temperature on the warm side around 82 to 85°F. The cool side is around 77 to 82f. She also has two Arcadia 14% dragon linear UVB.

That beardie vet episode was the best! I’ve listened to it multiple times. Great video as always!
Thank you

You’re welcome ☺️
So what exactly is estivation? Isn't it just when it feels tired or doesn't feel like moving?
So question, lots of forums and groups I’m in say we should dust the vegetables and bugs. Is this accurate or just dust the insects?
Hi! This may sound stupid but is brumation essential for beardies being kept as pets in tropical climates?

Do you put water bowls in? Im in the uk and night temps drop to 18.c, my dragon hasnt come out for days. Recon its brumation?
Yup I always have a water bowl. And it could be, hard for me to say just replying to a comment. Have a watch of my brumation guide
Thanks.
What type of wood are you using for your vivarium? What's the best way for waterproofing when I go bioactive? Thank you!
It’s just wood from the garden really, in terms of waterproofing I would silicone the edges and then use yacht varnish on the bottom and sides up to where substrate would be.
I don't even have a bearded dragon but I loved it. One day I'll have a bearded dragon though
Thank you I’m hoping it’s helpful

Where are you based?
@ReptilesandResearch California, close to the coast. Very mild temperatures.

How much does she weigh and what’s the temperature?

I would like your opinion on hemp bedding used as substrate
Isn’t that like aspen bedding?
@@ReptilesandResearch yes
@@kevieboy420 sounds good for snakes but I wouldn’t with bearded dragons
