I was born in 1979....So most of my FONDEST childhood memories are due to Jim Henson and ALL of his many characters he created!!! Of course there's The Dark Crystal, Labyrinth, Fraggle Rock, The Muppets, Sesame Street etc (just to name a few)....HE was such an INCREDIBLY BRILLIANT and EXTREMELY TALENTED man and many that knew him personally said he was such a kind-hearted person!!! We lost him WAY TO SOON!!! **RIP JIM HENSON!! 🙏💜😢💕🙏
This is heartbreaking! Those last few days sound awful. Can't believe he waited so long to see a doctor. The Muppet tributes at the funeral sound beautiful though - a perfect way to send him off. Henson's legacy will definitely live on!
We had a very good friend who passed away from the same type of pneumonia as Jim Henson had. He was on a ski weekend in ME and started having cold systems. He kept getting worse over the next few days and was taken to a Boston hospital, where the doctors tried everything, including surgery, to help him recover.
Jim's first reaction to Summer would have likely been: "Neat, a new female character, use her!"....he would have also admired and appreciated Jessica DiCicco's performance.
I have read in the biography Jim Henson(which family and friends were involved in and approved of)that his reactions to ideas would be "hmmmm" and if he liked it he would say "lovely". I could see him saying what you said,as well 😊
Jim was an absolutely Genius also he would have loved the films son Brian directed and the movie Jason Segal helped write and starred in also its sequel and he would have definately loved Disney Jr.'s Muppet Babies reboot and the character of Summer Penguin.
His death really pisses me off. One of his close family members said he didn’t go to the hospital sooner bc, “He didn’t want to be a bother”. He was my bro. Sorry to anyone who reads this and thinks I’m an Asshat. Jim Henson was my favorite ever since I was 4, and recovering from a broken arm, and broken Jaw.(life long chronic pain). Dad moved the TV and I watched The Great Muppet Caper, with him on my ‘hospital style’ bed. I fell in love. With Jim Henson.
I can completely understand putting off an illness. You don't want to make a big deal out of it to everyone, especially if it feels like something you can work through. It can happen so easily especially with our health care in the United States. Shit, I'm putting off something right now.
Wow had no idea he was only 53. Cant imagine how heartbreaking that had to have been for his family. I wish he was still here. Wouldve liked to have to seen him do more adult puppet stuff. Not necessarily the level of meet the feebles or happy time murders(altho i do think he would've approved of that movie lol), but more Dark Crystal
Rest In Peace Jim Henson.
RIP😢😢❤ I loved his shows growing up in the 70s and 80s. He's still missed today
😢😢😢😢JIM, YOU ARE STILL MISSED VERY MUCH BY SO MANY!
RIP Jim. You were a big part of my childhood.
I still love all his movies and I’m in my forties
Rest in Peace, Jim Henson🕊🙏

This channel never disappoints. They're always one of the best.
I was devastated when Jim Henson died. I was young and he was something of a hero of mine.
I still am. My name's Fozzie because he's my favorite muppet
Interesting fact - Jim Henson passed away on May 16 1990, the same day Sammy Davis Jr died. Two Entertainment Legends gone, very sad.
Now we just had this again
And all of his characters died with him... 🥺😥
R.I.P. Jim Henson, the Walt Disney of Puppetry!
RIP
RIP Jim Henson. You changed entertainment forever with your limitless imagination! We miss you everyday, legend. ❤🌈🐸
Loved Muppet shows/films, that Jim created.
Such a loss Rip❤❤........
Jim provided many with many wonderful memories. ❤🕊️🙏
RIP Jim. Still miss you
So unbelievably 😢, he was too young.

Jim Henson was like Walt Disney in a way.

The character of Summer would have pleased Jim since she liked to be creativive like he was.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I always heard it was a dixieland band at his funeral.
1st celebrity death I remember 😢
Damn didn't know that what killed him and how back it effected Jim. Rip
I bet he would have still been with us had he been more aware of his illness and sought medical treatment in time
the muppets lost both their heart and soul with jim henson and richard hunt passing away so close together.

He died a month before I was born
I'm young but this makes me want to write my funeral plans

That's why I'm dealing with my chronic abdominal pain in silence I don't want to be a bother to anyone if something is wrong with me
Really smart u are huh
Sorry I didn't now okay
