Another solid video I do feel your pain though trying to benchmark AI is extremely difficult but keep up the great work have a good one and I'll catch you on the next one.
Yea and its good for consumers. Now we just need to make sure that this type of product is correctly portrayed to the market segment that could benefit from it 👌🏿 @@SomeGadgetGuy
I got an Aoostar Gem10 2 months ago and I'm really happy with it. These minipcs have come a long way in just a couple of years. The 780m APU is plenty fast for light/med-light gaming and the 8 core AMD processors (mine has the 7840hs) are strong af for an average user. Mine has an Oculink port, too, so I can always upgrade the GPU to something fancy if I need to.
I can't always say they will include those parts, depending on component pricing it might change, but it was a nice surprise to see opening up the case. It's crazy to think this system is as powerful as it is, when at full load it's pulling about a third what my GPU can draw in my workstation.
Thanks for your review. I hope one of the future 8000 'HX' AMD Ryzen 9 processors include the Radeon 780M. The 7945HX has amazing CPU performance, but only the 610M. The doubled core count and the 64MBs of L3 cache in the 7945HX is probably why a better GPU was not included. The 8945HS (with half the core count) is nowhere close to the 7945HX CPU performance. I briefly tested a new iPad Pro with the Apple M4 and it had Speedometer 2.0 performance over 500, but another person noted a 616 score with (undoubtedly) a better model.
Hi, small new channel here. I was researching this mini pc with the view of using it instead of a laptop to edit my channel videos in CapCut. My aim is a full video (10-15 mins) each week with a few shorts thrown in midweek. In your opinion, is this good enough for that sort of work? Would the i9 Intel version be better or worse? Or is there other options you could suggest for my purposes. Kind regards 👍🏼
8:14 resolve's neural engine plugins like depth map, or object tracking wow, where else can NPU help? both above seem matrix manipulation tasks; but what _are_ other examples of that? 8:22 those NPU based plugins are now faster with NPU than even on powerful processors without NPU
USD 899 for a 32GB setup and 2TB HDD. Legion Go USD 750 for 16GB and 1TB HDD. Both have the 780M iGPU. I think I'll prefer a portable machine with a screen and battery.
I've been using this on my older NUC for a bit, and it's been solid. amzn.to/3xazXQv Just really depends on your floor plan or what you need. Maybe finding a newer AX instead of AC router mihht help a little, but I don't think there are a lot of USB options that are a lot faster than AC1900 without spending A LOT.
Hi Juan! Do you know if this unit, or any mini-pc for that matter, can be connected to (and powered by) a docking station like Lenovo's or Caldigit's? Thanks!!
Be aware, this Geekom A8 cost $200-300 more than Gmktec K8 for the exact same specs but DOESN’T have a fan (like all other 8845hs), a K8 has way better perfs
The A8 price youre comparing is for an 8945HS and it definitely has a fan inside it. That's a solid deal for an 8845HS though. If we're comparing coupon codes, the AE8 (which matches the slightly larger form factor of the K8) is $55 more expensive, but only comes with a 512GB SSD. Good competitor.
Desktop power consumption is a little less precious, but I'm irrationally excited to swap from this Threadripper and work on a device that draws like 1/10th the power.
Given that the case is metal, even with the little dipole FPC antenna in there, I bet that's interfering with the reception. It's why apple will make part of the metal case of the Mac mini an antenna or give a clear area to propagate out of

In addition to this AI Mini PC, we will be releasing 3 other computers waiting for you to discover!
Looking forward to it.
Surprised you are only 170k subscribers, so good
UA-cam sits on all my videos.
At this point, I think all these Mini PC companies are just trying to see how small they make their product and still outperform Juan's old system 😂😂😂
Man. It's just getting easier and easier too.

Aw man I wanna play with oculink.
having parts from well known companies is a big + for me, really tempted to get a mini pc even tho i have 7800x3d 4090 desktop

I just bought the Beelink SER8 that has the Ryzen 7 8845 processor in it after watching this. Mini pcs are hot stuff now.
But practically unusable with the fan noise, that these new powerful pcs produce.
With Juan, it's in the Bag, and he Nell-s it.

Very nice Video as always Sir. Keep it up.
Thanks buddy!
Awesome mini server for home lab 👌🏽
I turned a 5800H into headless media server. It's AWESOME.

Me too, excellent observation. Plus, the screen is a real beauty.
Since you mentioned average wifi reception, could you suggest a good external wifi card to be rigged as a accessory.

well if you dont wipe and format any device, you deserve what you get. I would rather have slightly lager with a 2nd m.2 or ssd slot.

can we change wifi to ssd to get oculink?
Thanks for informing us on that hidden Russian piece of software. How do you find it? Can you tell us more about it? Thanks
Nothing to really find. It was an experience pack updated in the Microsoft app store. Ran updates for apps and it was in there.
Yeah mac mini doesnt seem all that mini anymore. And the benefits of m series chip don't really apply to a desktop pc

It's such a good looking box but I think you're right. The small port cut out and the bottom panel might not be enough to get better reception.
Hope they offer a bare bones option.
It’s useless for me if it has a slow internet connection.
I am having problems with wifi signal with A8 tho
It's pretty weak. I might try to find a way to drill out the case and add a better antenna.
Have anyone used Windows 10 on that thing?
please test Ollama on it T_T
Mini PCs > All-in-One PCs.
Hard agree.
Acer ick cheap junk.I'd be replacing that .
too loud to use on the desk. Like always, companies save money on laptop cooling or mini pc mehh.
