Thank you so much for playing! It was a challenge to create something in two months that resembled something playable haha. The puzzle is meant to be able to be brute forced just in case you can't figure out the other hints within it. My goal was simply to make sure people made it through the game since it's so small. Thank you again!
You did a fantastic job creating a tense atmosphere, and the visuals and audio were nicely done. The story was pretty engaging for such a short game too. Really good job on this.
Well done! The beginning really set the tone for the rest of the game. Chris was flustered and even I was nervous and I'm just watching. Looking forward to your future projects.
I absolutely loved this!! I can't wait to see what other projects you may be working on😉...mortuary assistant! I love how on edge this game made me feel...such tension! You did an amazing job on this! Bravo!😊👍
Absolutely loved this @DarkStone 👏 That little clap the 'mime' does before disappearing....sooo good. I can't wait to see what other awesome games you create and have our fabulous @CJU GAMES play. Stay fabulous
SPOILER: The secret to the card puzzle - the symbol at the top left is the key to the current page. Rotate the card until the key symbol is on top (ie: 2nd page, sun symbol is the key.) Then line up the open dots on the card with the ones on the page that match. When you do, rotate the wheel until the line in that circle is pointing at the key symbol (ie: 2nd page, sun) and it will make a symbol appear. Do this for however many times you have dots on the middle top circle (ie: 2nd page, 5 answers on the page.) Repeat until all symbols appear and then you’ll have a new key for the next page. Repeat as above. Each time you solve a page, new page numbers will appear on that 9th page that you can then go to and scan with the card to find the symbol.
I have now watched 2 different people play this game, and still didn’t understand how the puzzle worked. Thank you for this explanation cause now I finally get it and I feel far less dumb lmao
This dev really excels at splitting our attention with puzzles or simulator tasks while working within a horror environment. It's a fine balance to make the tasks interesting enough to hold our attention without making it too hard.
When a jumpscare is so effective that I flip an entire bowl of cereal into my lap, that's a 10/10 for me. I still feel so on edge, the atmosphere of this game is incredible. Thank you for another fantastic playthrough!
What a smart game! I loved it. I adore the creepy carnival atmosphere with its garish colors and cool twinkling string lights. The funhouse. The clown, whose animation was great. Imo, the book was a brilliant choice as your vehicle to survival--having to have the light to read it (breakers), and then to focus on reading, follow the instructions, and solve the puzzle really amped-up the pressure and your anxiety. And speaking of anxiety, I don't think I've ever seen you so panicked in such a small space. 🤣🤣🤣 I was looking forward to The Mortuary Assistant already, but now I'm _really_ psyched!
A great video, as ususal! Regarding the puzzle,it's done like this (as it's only vaguely explained on the solved page): 1. He started with the symbol on the top left of the page - the star. He turned it, until the star was at the top. Now the dots at the bottom of the dial show the (inverted) pattern for the rings, you have to put the dials on on this page. The dots in the big ring inidicate, how many of those rings are there. 2. After putting the dial on one of the smaller rings, he turned the dial, until the small marker inside the ring points at the star-symbol. A marker appears inside the ring. 3. He repeated this for all the other rings on the page. Then a new symbol (the sun) appears above the big ring. This symbol is the one he had to use on the page. The same symbol now also appeared on a later page along with the page-numbers (so he knows which symbol to use on which page), as well as on the top left corner of the next puzzle page.
I literally shat myself when the guy just appeared out of nowhere and started stabbing you, jesus christ. The character animations are really impressive. So smooth, but the way they're all just sped up a bit is so unsettling.
I don't think Edwin was trapped in the book. It seems the Blood Mage was possessing Edwin most of the game. The ending showed the Blood Mage able to exist on its own without the need for Edwin/a host
I loved this! And can I say, the voice actor for Trevor has been dealt some shitty hands when it comes to other games not maximizing his potential. I recognize his voice immediately when I hear him, and I think he's a great voice actor! I loved everything about this game. Great playthrough, CJU.
eye symbol: meaning you are not hiding/you are exposed to enemy's vision sound symbol: meaning you are making a sound/you are exposed to enemy's hearing ... i think
I enjoyed this game so much!! Well done with the animations and the puzzle, nice spooky atmosphere and tension, and a great enemy... he's wickedly fun!
And that is why you don't tamper with such unknown objects. Moreso, if there's blood smears on the entries. XD I very much loved this game. The jumpscares was perfect and the puzzle-solving was a challenge, especially when having to deal with a menace that repeatedly intrudes your line of thought (without coming out as an annoyance). There's not a lot of horror games out there that effectively gets my heart jumping, and this one did its job right. Hell, even the character animation is on point. Kudos to the dev.
Man this was panic inducing from the start. And I have no clue how he figured out that puzzle in the book. I would've died for sure trying to figure that thing out
Man!, this game made me panic! As much fun carnivals and theme parks can be, they can also be sooo scary after closing time with a non-human maniac lurking around every corner...
Same, I'm always gonna like his videos because he's put thought into all of his opinions and spent lots of time getting things right and playing these games in an entertaining way.
Super scary game and so well made! Sounds, voice acting, animations, overall graphics... The is so much effort to see! I'm kinda reminded of Poppy Playtime, but that one has much bigger budget I'm sure. I'm so hyped now for Mortuary Assistant, and I already was after beta. I hope they will be able to keep the quality in their new games.
You don't even have to make an excuse for why you couldn't figure out the puzzle, Chris, because honestly, it's amazing you were able to at all. I certainly couldn't play this game - solving the puzzle is crucial to completing it, but while having to worry about that guy knifing you? Nope. No way I could focus. He was so creepy! A very well done game! Thanks for playing it!
Now this is something special! The voice acting was great and the puzzles was well done. The atmosphere was awesome! I loved this! It kept me on edge the entire game. Well done dev/devs!😛👍
This dev is working on the mortuary assistant? I AM SO STOKED FOR THAT GAME!!!! This game however, was super fun to watch you play! I'm not the strongest with puzzle games so I tend to shy away from them for the most part. But its always a joy to watch someone else do them. Chris you are surely becoming one of my top favorite gamers. And you have the voice of an angel lol. I feel like u could seriously be a really really good story teller or something like that haha. Great job, such a joy. As always 😁
Short and sweet; the combination of clever puzzles with the horror gameplay is really good. You really need to concentrate to solve it, but that's when the scares and the breakers distract you.
The illustrations on the instruction page (pg 5) show where the symbol should be aligned when you dial it. If you look at the circles, you can see a small line with a symbol (like the Star on page 5). It's telling you the position you have to dial the symbol to. So the line in the circle tell you where to align your symbol and the dots at the top of the page are the amount of clues you're looking for.
Haha! Nice game! I once joked that after FNAF's and other such games devs are going to bulid smaller and smaller spaces for the player. Make it even more challenging now - I propose to make a game where the protagonist is in cupboard. :D
dame, that's a scary thought, to be trap at night with a killer trying to hunt you down, drink your blood, and can some how find a way in the booth no thank you 😨😲
Fun game. Enjoyed this one a lot. That book was brain intensive, all the while being pestered by a demon. Really looking forward to The Mortuary Assistant now.
Fun game with cool mechanics, though I didn't get the puzzle AT ALL ^^ A tad repetitive regarding said mechanics, but very tense at the same time. And again, strong voice acting in this one!
Nice game. It was fun, wholesome, creepy and scary all at the same time. I liked it! Too bad CJU didn't solve the puzzle properly. I think the puzzle was interesting and I was trying to solve it in my head and thinking "No, CJU, you're doing it wrong! Think again!" lol
You not quite getting that the flashlight revealed you for a bit due to missing the eye symbol disappearing when you first toggled it and then just not experimenting to find out frustrated me a fair bit.
Thank you so much for playing! It was a challenge to create something in two months that resembled something playable haha. Damn, for two months this is awesome - from the voice acting to the character animations.
Absolutely loved this @DarkStone 👏 That little clap the 'mime' does before disappearing....sooo good. I can't wait to see what other awesome games you create and have our fabulous @CJU GAMES play. Stay fabulous
Are you all ready to see another one from Dread X soon?
I'm looking forward to more Dreads.
Yes there games are awesome, and your play throughs are pretty awesome too.
Most definitely :)
Bring it on! Please!
Absolutely.

Aha, I see. Thanks for the explanation. I'd probably have figured it out eventually if I didn't have some success doing it wrong.
I have now watched 2 different people play this game, and still didn’t understand how the puzzle worked. Thank you for this explanation cause now I finally get it and I feel far less dumb lmao

It was a bowl of chicken noodle soup for me! 😂
Right? I'm half-watching out the corner of my eye on my second monitor while I work and every time I hear Chris go "WHOOOOAAA" I jump a little bit!
lmao i threw my gd back out FFS i thought i could not be "jump scared" lmao
What a smart game! I loved it. I adore the creepy carnival atmosphere with its garish colors and cool twinkling string lights. The funhouse. The clown, whose animation was great. I was looking forward to The Mortuary Assistant already, but now I'm _really_ psyched!
This is great! I'm still REALLY excited for The Mortuary Assistant though, can't wait to watch you play that game 😁
Same. Cant wait for that game.
Do we no when Mortuary Assistant comes out??
One of the few that has really stuck with the Horror genre and hasn't given up on it - thank you CJU.
A great video, as ususal!

Having the light on would make you less stealthy, hence the eye symbol there when the light is on.
This was such a treat! I didn't expect it to be as anxiety-inducing as it was. Really great pacing, sounds and villain.
I don't think Edwin was trapped in the book. It seems the Blood Mage was possessing Edwin most of the game. The ending showed the Blood Mage able to exist on its own without the need for Edwin/a host
The character animations and voice acting gave this an immense charm
I loved this! And can I say, the voice actor for Trevor has been dealt some shitty hands when it comes to other games not maximizing his potential. I recognize his voice immediately when I hear him, and I think he's a great voice actor! I loved everything about this game. Great playthrough, CJU.
Much love thank you so much!
@@ShadowsFateOfficial of course!
eye symbol: meaning you are not hiding/you are exposed to enemy's vision
sound symbol: meaning you are making a sound/you are exposed to enemy's hearing
... i think
This game kicked ass! The animations, sound design, and voice acting were all so on point and freaky. Thanks for playing this!
I enjoyed this game so much!! Well done with the animations and the puzzle, nice spooky atmosphere and tension, and a great enemy... he's wickedly fun!
Nicely done -- also love the touch of the old school jurassic park pump fuses lmfao
That's the lie, draw the circle, light the candles, etc...once you begin, you are doomed.
And that is why you don't tamper with such unknown objects. Moreso, if there's blood smears on the entries. XD
I very much loved this game. I have made a horrible choice to watch this at 2 in the morning. I'm going to nope right out, and watch when the sun is up!
One thing that stands out immediately, excellent voice acting! Really does make a difference.
Perfect timing. Just got home from grocery shopping. Cooking dinner and watching CJ
Careful now
4:50 it made me jump so bad that I hurt my back lmfao. My laptop almost flew off the bed
This is funny and scary, the perfect combo!
That was really fun! Thank you for playing, CJU!
I've never jumped this hard during one of your videos. This game is so well done and the jumscares are well timed
Man!, this game made me panic! As much fun carnivals and theme parks can be, they can also be sooo scary after closing time with a non-human maniac lurking around every corner...
DARKSTONE did a awesome medieval game way back that still plays today called Dark stone love that game.
Wasn't that released in playstation? I have that on PC
He always says like to dislike the video in the end but I am always going to like his videos. He's such an amazing UA-camr.. I appreciate his work.
Same, I'm always gonna like his videos because he's put thought into all of his opinions and spent lots of time getting things right and playing these games in an entertaining way.
Same here too. I click like for a youtuber making the view entertaining, not for the actual game content. I save my opinions of that for the comments.
Thank you so much! It's greatly appreciated.
Holy moly, those jump scares! I almost choked on my own spit
This one was great! The jump scares really don't feel "cheap" like in many other games with the QTE
This game had me clenching my whole body every time you checked the windows😂
Now this is something special! The voice acting was great and the puzzles was well done. The atmosphere was awesome! I loved this! It kept me on edge the entire game. Well done dev/devs!😛👍

I actually screamed when that first jumpscare happened xD that one got me bloody good
8:55 dang i havent jumped from a horror game in a bit heh that got me
Wow!! Just started the video and I already fucking love it! The action came so quick and it was actually scary and super creepy!!!
the crature reminds me of a short film "The Jester"
The illustrations on the instruction page (pg 5) show where the symbol should be aligned when you dial it. If you look at the circles, you can see a small line with a symbol (like the Star on page 5). It's telling you the position you have to dial the symbol to.

Nice balance of puzzle, action and tension. Great looking game.
Yes another indie horror game to watch ❤️
Thanks for all the hard working u been through to put a smile on our faces 😁
Loved this. It doesn’t waste any time and the jumpscares are F brutal lol! No pausing the game when you read here ha ha! Very well executed.
The eye symbol shows up when you turn the pocket light on. How did you not realize that?
I did after a few minutes. I was more concerned about getting stabbed initially 😂
4:00 The guy sort of reminds me of The Jester from a short horror film series on UA-cam with the same name.
Haha! Nice game! I once joked that after FNAF's and other such games devs are going to bulid smaller and smaller spaces for the player. Make it even more challenging now - I propose to make a game where the protagonist is in cupboard. :D
my comment is gone, i know i saw this one.
worst of of this is fighting off the main antagonist. it gets old fast.
Very nice! Really appreciate the stellar voice acting.
Maybe the clown is the book guardian trying to keep whoever has it from summoning what's inside?
That ending, though- a 'Blood Mage' using Siphon Mana (also known as Mana Tap by you WoW players circa TBC) on you has never been scarier.
That was terrifying…I loved it!
That was really good. I'm looking forward the Mortuary Assistant even more now!
Impressive, essentially Welcome to the Game with a demonic twist, and I liked it.
Holy sheet 😳😳 that first jump scare got me good 🤣 I screamed and both my cats took off running 🤣🤣
Perfect timing. I was just looking for something good to watch.
dame, that's a scary thought, to be trap at night with a killer trying to hunt you down, drink your blood, and can some how find a way in the booth no thank you 😨😲
Great little game :) Currently getting over flu so this really cheered me up.
voice acting is really good
Hey! I am new on your channel. I love to listen to your voice and hope to get better in english! ❤️❤️❤️
Dang I was hoping this was a Clive Barker game cuz made "Books of Blood" but it'll still be cool! Thanks chris.
I think this is the scariest & innovative game of 2022 so far!
Fun game. Enjoyed this one a lot.
That book was brain intensive, all the while being pestered by a demon. Really looking forward to The Mortuary Assistant now.
This one was GREAT!!! Good job Chris!
Omg! I jumped outta my shin on the first scare!! Holy crap. Lol
this game was so very very and well done . love your game plays.
Fantastic game and concept. The horror element was well-designed. I just hoped it was a little longer with a little more adventures.
Holy fuk😦just exactly what the title says never really seen you play a more quickly intensifying game like this
That was fun to watch. The creepy dude was very creepy 😂 But the last trick was the best tbh xD
This game scared the sh,t out of me the first 5minutes
lol
Oh wow I’m so early and I was actually opening UA-cam just to search for CJU’s videos 🙏🏻
Excited as always for your uploads
Not even 5 minutes into this and I already jumped like three times. Holy heck, that's BOUND to be amazing!!!
lately i thought that i was getting a lot better with jumpscares but this game got me so many times i laughed so hard the first time it got me
Excellent game, kept me on the edge of my seat
Yup, 30:49 had me shitting bricks.
I must have jumped quite a few times wow this was good
Fun to watch this game. Great animation work
CRAP! omg I just jumped SO HARD when he first stabbed you that my coffee leapt right outta my cup lmao
I'm sooooo excited to watch you play
Your voice and wonderful laugh make my day
man so many jump scares.
Creepy vibes in a carnival environment? I'm in!
Creepy as hell awesome game dude
Didn't have time to grasp the puzzles, but someone in the comments explained. Maybe? Lol. Great game 👍
this one was very cool!! love carnivals
Fun game with cool mechanics, though I didn't get the puzzle AT ALL ^^ A tad repetitive regarding said mechanics, but very tense at the same time. And again, strong voice acting in this one!
Such a underrated game from DarkStoneDigital!!💪
Nice game. It was fun, wholesome, creepy and scary all at the same time.
I liked it! Too bad CJU didn't solve the puzzle properly.
I think the puzzle was interesting and I was trying to solve it in my head and thinking "No, CJU, you're doing it wrong! Think again!" lol
Chris, don't open that naughty book hahahaha XDXD
You not quite getting that the flashlight revealed you for a bit due to missing the eye symbol disappearing when you first toggled it and then just not experimenting to find out frustrated me a fair bit.
Nice spooky puzzle game.
I could not watch this video, it was way to scary!
There was movie the early 2000s that was quite good and I'm wondering if this is connected in some way
Oh I loved this!
Holy sh*t!!! These DreadX games are insane. I’ve never been that spooked in the first 5 mins of a game. Damn. F**k this sh*t!!! 😂🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️☠️
I 👏 could 👏 never 👏.
